OLTL Discussion Thread

Are we allowed to start a thread since there isn't one? Please use discipline against me if I'm acting wrongfully.

This show is on such a roll that some days I can't even believe it's reality. Everything is just perfect.

Today I am loving Dorian calling Jared on the carpet. Robin Strasser rocks. I just about died when Viki said "If it isn't my oldest, dearest friend."

Once again Adriana proves she is useless and annoying. I can't stand that character, and I think it's time to re-watch the Christmas cat fight when Blair pushes the self-centered bitch into the Christmas tree. I wish Gigi would slap her face today.

Speaking of Gigi: I really like Farrah Fath on OLTL, and the kid playing her son does a good job, too.

I loved the entire show, even Adriana didn't grate on my nerves. LOL

Was so glad to see Viki and Charlie back in each others orbit and it was fun watching Viki finding out about Charlie living at Dorian's, and what Dorian told Charlie about them being dear and old friends. Viki handled it very well, because you could tell that she so wanted to claw her eyes out.

The Bo and Rex scenes were wonderful.

Still loving Allison.

Dorian was hands down the best part of the show today,

She was great telling Jared off

I loved Jess and Allison

and Bo and Rex were good

I even enjoyed Adrianna and Gigi

Todd and John crack me up, TSJ's delivery cracked me up,when he answered the door, "Hi John, gee how'd you find me" was so good, I love these two together

A very cattttttttttttttttttty episode today!! I predict future catfights between Dorian/Viki, Gigi/Adriana, Nora/Lindsay, to be continued :D

Dorian showed today she still has it and beat Jared at his own game! Jared got schooled!!

Then Viki beat Dorian and got her man back home!HA!

Adriana being b!tchy with Gigi and Gigi just playing it off like nothing seemed to p!ss Adriana off more. I agree with Gigi, Adriana was acting like she was still in highschool.

Bo and Rex scenes were so cute, especially when Bo just wanted to shake hands and Rex went for a hug.lol I still say Bo is Rex' father, some how some way.

AND, WTF is Allison's secret?????

Adriana is a bitch. Who the f does she think she is? where the hell does she get off asking Gigi if Shane is Rex's kid? How is that ANY of her business? Okay I can see to a small degree since Rex is her fiance but if she suspects this then she should let Rex know and let HIM deal with it. She has no right to confront Gigi especially since she just met her and knows NOTHING about her situation. Plus she's wrong bc Shane is in the other room adn does not need to be hearing this convo. Man I hate this twit. She makes Jessica look good if thats even possible

^i disagree. i ahet Adrianna, however this has a lot to do with her and is her buisness. if her fiance is this kids father - he deserves to know. she does as well. she would become this kids step mother, but more so than that i think she wants to know for rex, who is pretty much her best friend, as well her fiance. obvsly a man she loves a lot.

and i love jessica. lol.

anyways, how old is the actor who plays cole? because i have a crush on the boy and feel wrong about that since im 20.

which is why I said she should tell Rex and let HIM deal with it. He dated Gigi and its hissue to handle. Adriana can stand on the sidelines and give support to whatever he decides to do. It is not Adriana's place to confront Gigi, someone who she's only known for less than a minute and start being a bitch to her over. Adriana was out of line and just plain rude. Adriana doesnt give a damn about Shane or Rex and his son. She has been jealous of Gigi for weeks since she first heard about her and was sizing up the competition. She spent her time with Giig, trying to make her jealous of her relationship with Rex, by going on about their love and engagement. Obviously Gigi could care less and wasnt into those petty games.

Plus even if Adriana was wanting to find out if Rex has a son and bring them together , that makes her come across as a hypocrite considering how she just lied and kept Todd from his. The bitch needs to be in jail for playing her part in kidnapping. Shame on Bo for knowing that and not doing anything.

Allison has always annoyed the hell out of me. The actress is great, though.

I still can't get over how good OLTL is under the pen of Ron Carlivati. I have been largely MIA from SON for some months, and I am curious to know if it's widely considered that the show is AMAZING under him? What is the consensus on this board (I see that OLTL still gets less commentary than DAYS, AMC, etc.), among the die-hard fans, and what about the soap press?

Jess, Scotty, Heather???

Monday's episode was brilliant. I love how RC has set up so many rivalaries, much of them being between women. It reminds me of Douglas Marland to be honest. Marland pitted Barbara against Margo, Nola against Vanessa, the ones that RC has on OLTL are just as epic. I can see the ones between Gigi and Adrianna being really entertaining. I'm going to be rooting for Gigi though.

Robin Strasser's portrayl of Dorian is quickly becoming one of the many reasons why I watch. You never known what she's going to do next. I love how she has Jared's number.

Viki and Charlie's reunion was sweet.

IMHO it's a mixed bag. Press wise OLTL gets tons of praise, recieves a bunch from fans online also. However there are still some fans who still weary of Higley's tenure and in my opinion are reluctant to put their faith in the show a second time. Critics also like to point out the ratings issue, but if you ask me ratings don't mean sh!t honestly. Time and time again it's been proven that ratings don't always equal quality. For OLTL's case that would be very true since it is practically the best soap on air right now.

    • I know Passions used this trope with Ethan and Sam to drag out the paternity, but GH seems to speed through certain stories while dragging others.

    • Agreed, that there was some strange choices in the episode, especially at the end, but overall, that was some great drama that opens up the potential for so much future storyline. Kat vs. Eva having the most potential, especially over Tomas. I have mixed feelings about Martin/BC though. I thought he did pretty well in scenes with Smitty/MM, but the scenes of him confronting Leslie and of him throwing the books were bad lol she acted circles around him.  It’s similar to what Harding Lemay said about George Reinholt at AW; he could be brilliant in one scene, but then mediocre in the next.
    • I know some of y'all really like Brooke Kerr, and so I've tried to give her a shot, despite her frequent flat line readings and distracted "did I leave the front door unlocked?" facial expressions. But lord, she is so bad at playing a tough-talking badass that I was actually rooting for Brad today to spill the beans to Drew.
    • Googling does tend to ruin it.  For those of us who were teens in the late 1970s and early 1980s, you can't imagine how much fun it was to watch the show in the afternoons.  (It came on right after school.)  There weren't any "spoilers" at the time.  We would always try to anticipate how each crime and each mystery would be resolved, and we were ALWAYS wrong, because the stories are filled with so many weird twists and turns.   The head writer (Henry Slesar) and his dialogue writer (Steve Lehrman) invariably toss genuine clues directly into your face in the most unlikely ways, but then they provide a host of "red herrings" to completely confuse you and send you off on the wrong path.  Once the story reaches its conclusion, all you can think is Why didn't I figure that out weeks ago?  lol
    • Does the vault have the original scene and not the short flashback?
    • I appreciate that you are using AI with the knowledge of it's limitations. Some posters take everything it produces as fact.
    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
