Members DaytimeFan
Here's the thing, I agree with you, Cane does seem to young to be Jill's son because he's too close to Billy's age...except Daniel Goddard is actually OLDER than Phillip would be now! Can you believe that?! For me once they SORAS'd Billy I thought it was a good thing that Phillip was dead because 20 years separated Billy and Phillip age wise...yet here we are. Members Y&RWorldTurner
Is it me or has the hair and makeup on this show been a lot better lately? Melody Thomas Scott's hair had been looking really bad a few months ago, but it looked really good on Friday's episode.... I guess it was all part of Latham's plan to make make everything look ugly, you know, to match her storylines and all...
Members DaytimeFan
Haha. Well said. Ugly show, ugly storylines...hideous HW. But I know what you mean, everything suddenly looks better. I'm not sure if it's hair and makeup or the lighting but Jeanne Cooper's hair looks less like a gin soaked wig and more like the bouncy coif of the society dame that she is. Jess Walton is also looking good. Everything is better since that plot driven, history wrecking, newbie loving bitch has been canned. I just hope her firing sticks. Dear God...Oh Precious God...Let It Be Anyone Else But Jill!...er I mean Lynn!
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I loved Friday's episode, there was so much heart, family connection, and business overtones throughout the entire episode - which is what Y&R is suppose to be about. I LOVED the flashback to Nikki and Victor's last wedding when Nikki handed over her wedding dress to Victoria. I also must say, I'm starting to actually feel something for JT and Victoria, their scenes together especially at the end were very sweet and well done. Jack and Sharon have come a long way as well, I really like them together now, they seem like a real couple. I hear Gloria moving into the Abbott mansion will be a riot. I hear Noah is going to drive Gloria insane, coupled with Jeffrey blackmailing her, that should be fun to watch. A month into Y&R being Latham free and the show is on a roll, who would've thought so much could be rebuilt in so little time?
Members a2sassy
Thank GOD for the strike hitting Y&R! That was what was needed to make the show watchable again. I'm gonna love Katherine writing this memior. I know it's gonna piss off half of Genoa City but I know it's gonna be good. Jack, Sharon, Nick and Phyllis going into business sounds good with the exception of Sharon. That chick can't run her way out of a plastic bag, let alone run a company. She just needs to stick to what she's used to, pointing and smiling. As much as I HATE Gloria, I love this s/l with Jeff blackmailing her and them moving into the Abbott mansion because it finally seems like she's gonna get her comeuppance. With her and Kevin trying to make it look like Jeff is trying to poison her, you just know it's gonna blow up in her face and I can't wait to see that. Members Y&RWorldTurner
^You clearly hate Sharon and have a bias against her. I admit it, I hated her last year when it seemed like she couldn't keep her legs closed to Brad and Jack. However, Griffith and Bell have given her major dept. She won major points with me when she ended things with Brad and told him they were never going to be more than friends and that she was committed to Jack and her marriage. Members Adam
I agree with you there. Sharon has always been jumping from man to man and can't go without spreain the legs every once in a while, but yeah I was very impressed that she ended things with Brad..... Latham would have kept that triangle going for god knows how long. Don Diamont must be one of the only actors on this show who might be a bit ticked his pal Latham was given the boot. What is there for Brad now story wise?
Members Juliajms
I completely agree. I think AH is doing a great job. She isn't playing Vikki as a bitch because the role isn't being written that way right now, the few times it has been, Amelia has come through. I want to see more of Heather and Daniel. He softens her up.
Members sheilaforever
I am still catching... Flashback to THE MIRROR-SCENE. One of daytime's top 10 moments - even this flashback gave me the chills. This scene with a minutelong score underneath was so powerful back in early 1999... Phillip memories - always nice although this was before my time. Rex on the otherhand. As Cat said, the whole Jll/Rex/Kay-thing was wonderful. How Jill found Rex on park bench and then modeled him as the perfect man was hilarious. This was Jess Waltopn's very first storyline in the summer of 1987 as Jill Foster Abbott... Unbekwonst to everyone, Rex & Kay would make a fabulous couple, indeed. But back to the show: FauxVictoria nearly managed to put ME into a coma. Get her off my screen! I'm also done with Heinle, she isn't cutting it at all. Get rid of the character till you find a better actress and/or more true to character writing. Phyllis&Nick were also coma-inducing. I still HATE them together. Thank god for the 30-second-skip-button on my remote control. Every episode with Nick&Phyllis and their lovin reduces the airtime of Y&R for me from 37 minutes to 30 minutes... Glo becoming a roomie wth Jacko is a total rehash of one of Kay Alden's greatest stories (->Jill/Kay and the Chancellor estate) but it could get very good. Several things I'm just thankful for: no Brad. no Prof. Cowbell. no FauxAwfulFauxAwfulFauxAwfulColleen. Keep this coming! I don't miss these three characters at all. Brad however can be interesting in a good story. Maybe Gloria should be become his next trophy wife. LOL!
Members Laurie
I started watching Y&R on Tuesday-loving it! Everything is entertaining me-enjoyed each episode. Nice feeling being able to enjoy a soap as a whole ETA: Count me in as, someone else who thinks, Amelia is doing a great job.
Members argo54
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that thanks. I agree. When she was written to be a b!tch she certainly was but then in those times I felt she was justified haha I still love this scene. Members a2sassy
You're right, I do hate Sharon and is somewhat biased when it comes to her but I give her props for kicking Brad's slimy ass to the curb and giving Jack another chance because I know that she could and maybe would have bedded Brad again and again while she and Jack were having problems in the past, but with this BUSINESS venture the quad want to start, I can't take Sharon serious. Members DaytimeFan
I totally agree. Heinle just isn't doing it for me. The few times she's been written as a bitch she's been OK...but the way she's been written now...pass the bucket. And yes, Gloria moving in with Jack is an absolute knock off of the Chancellor Estate storyline (which I thought was a downright masterpiece and Kay Alden's personal zenith on the show) but a good storyline is a good storyline and the original version happened 10 years ago...so it doesn't bother me. It should be good. I like the idea of Brad going after Gloria, it'd be funny. Brad's not a bad character, he's been fun in the past but the way he's been written in the last few years is just awful. And finally someone who agrees that Nick and Phyllis are boring! Dull as hell! I'm a Phyllis and Jack fan for life baby, I just don't buy the chemistry between Stafford and Morrow. AND THE MIRROR SCENE! I would pay to see that scene in full. If anyone has it, PLEASE post it on youtube!
Members sheilaforever
I have it on tape but am not tech-savy (Sexist quote of the day: I'm not a woman but I'm blonde... ) & equipped enough to get in YouTubed. ANd for that I also had to find it in my attic which is likely to be as dusted as that a the Chancellor mansion. Which brings me to a point: 1) Did CBS censor the RATS this time when she flashed back to her fabulous fight scene with Jill from summer 1998? Because there were RATS in the Chancellor attic when it originally aired? DId Kate Linder file a suit against Bell Dramatic Serial because this showed Esther in an extremely bad light back then!? LOL Speaking of which: 2) WHERE THE HELL IS ESTHER!? Memo to writers: I LOVE Esther, bring her back. ANd if that is not enough reason, it would also even further spice up Kay's story since Estehr has been with Mrs. C for 25 years... It's bad enough that they got rid off Miguel and only mention him now every once in a divorcetime which is okay. But ESTHER!
Members PJA
I prefer Amelia as Victoria too. When Heather Tom played her she always seemed mad and mean even when she was supposed to be nice. Besides I enjoy Heather as Katie better so I'm content with where Amelia and Heather are right now.
