Hey RVD! Long time no see- how have you been? :)

I tried watching today, but I guess I was expecting something different with the Jonathan/Lizzie scenes. I guess it wasn't quite the explosive scene that I expected it to be. But their on-location shots sucked and I'm growing very weary of the day of 2.28.08 to arrive.

Mandy Bruno's acting performance was beyond pathetic. She gets an F-.

However, it was nice to see the previews for tomorrow sponsored by Cheerios Cereal. It's one of my favorite cereals ever since I was a little child :)

Every time I see Josh in that church, I step back because I'm sure my TV is going to explode. Today was no exception when he found out about Sarah being alive. He was totally find with Reva keeping this secret. The both of them Josh/Reva) should have been struck down right then and there.

I will never for the life of me will ever believe Josh to remain the man of the cloth....

I was beyond tired of Marina and all her whinings for Cyrus; same goes for Harley... Tired of Alan lurking about all over the place;

Why do they always feel the need to throw folks in a 'relationship' together? I see nothing but a hot mess coming with the whole Lizzie/Bill stuff, especially now that Jon is back..

After a few episodes I can officially say that the return of Jonathan sucks! First TP doesn't seem to be into it at all. It's all about making Lizzie look good. Just like the return of Edmund was to make Cassie, Josh, and the rapist look like angels.

What I'd like to know is, what couple am I suppose to like? No one is likable on the show.

Bill/Lizzie is the result of one night stand. I'm not sure why they got together in the first place and I'm not even sure what they have in common. Bill is a completely different person from when he left, this thing is NOT Bill Lewis. What was the point of him being blind anyway? And I still don't know why he's so angry or whatever he is. Lizzie is still this self-centered bitch but the writers are determine to erase anything bad that she did and making her a heroine that I HAVE to feel sorry for and from reading the boards, it seems to be working. MR and DC don't have chemistry. It's like there's a wall between the two actors. And MR is not good actress, but that's my opinion.

Harley- Where is she?- Where the strong Harley that I used to love? I don't know this character right now. Cyrus is a pig and Marina is still boring as ever.

What is the point of Gus/Natalia/Olivia?

Cassie and Josh are loathsome.

Reva is with a rapist.

I liked Dinah and Mallet at the beginning but they're done. I thought Dinah and Mallet would work together after her shooting.

I have no idea why some people are saying the show is getting better. I just don't see it. EW and DK are still destroying characters, the writing is a complete mess and as long as they are both still there, it doesn't matter how many set they change or that they tape outside, GL is still crap.

Exactly. When you look at the past crimes that Josh Lewis has committed, then you would scratch your head and ponder how this man could be a man of cloth. I just want this minister thng over with. It's worse than Maryanne Caruthers, Paintng jumping Reva, and Psychic Reva all combined. Okay, maybe I'm being a little bit harsh, but you get what I'm saying, right?

You know, I miss Aubrey Dollar's portrayal of Marina Cooper. She just had that gutsy spunk that hasn't been seen in such a long time. In fact, Marina kind of reminded me of a young gutsy spunky Harley Davidson Cooper, but that Marina has been missing in action ever since Aubrey Dollar left the show. True, Mandy Bruno i a WHOLE lot better than Kit Paquin, but still....

Alan Spaulding and I should probably say the whole entire Spaulding family has turned into a major cartoon. I just laugh whenever I see the Spauldings on television it's that pathetic.

That question is so easy to explain and it goes something like this. Ellen Wheeler is simply pulling out whatever it is out of her ass.

Word, miss wolf.

As I might've said before, I think Bill/Lizzie would work a whole lot better, if their setup had been more organic; and if DC had a better on-screen partner than MR. That young Dolly Parton lookalike is so not Phillip and Beth's child.

Oh I couldn't agree more. I can't understand the praise MR is getting. Next to DC she looks more like a 12 year old. Today both MR and DC were just awful. This story is not working at all, DK has once again failed...I want DK and EW to be fired so badly!!

Just out of curiosity, what message board (I'm assuming) are people saying that Guiding Light is getting better? Cause I'd like to go over there and give all of them a rude awakening...

Just kidding. But I am curious though because I would like to read their posts.

There seems to be a lot of tweens and teens watching GL (mainly because of the Jon/Tammy s/l) and they rate the show highly. Now that Jon/Sarah and Tammy the ghost have returned my guess is that the ratings will go up.

GL has been a snoozefest for a long time now and once it turns into PettyCoat Junction (in February), things might get worse ( if that's possible ).

Well I'm not teen :D I am/was a fan of Jonathan, Tammy and Jammy and I hated their ending - and I hate the return. It's a waste. And I'm not alone in thinking this, believe me.

Maybe the ratings will rise a little but so many viewers have been so disgusted by EW and DK and their destruction of great characters, I'm not sure they'll ever watch the show again. No matter who comes back.

    • Well, they usually weren't on the show at the time for long until the late 90's. But yeah, they really deserved a story centered on them, and not through the lens of Reva.
    • Chelsea was doing the absolute most today! Why was she introducing her sister to a woman she doesnt know? That whole scene was embarrassing. Madison needs to stay away from her bc she is too immature
    • Gosh, what a waste with Lunacy. Why have her live with $B, reveal Finn, pardon her, etc What makes this story incredibly hollow is that what Luna is asking isn't unreasonable - to spend time with her cousin father. She's not asking to move in with them. How hard with it be for Finn to throw her a bone by, say, I'll meet you for lunch/coffee once at week at the hospital cafeteria. Lunacy isn't going to hurt Finn. In fact, all her crimes were related to finding her father and it turns out to be someone she's loved her entire life. Instead of course-correcting the nonsense of last summer, Brad somehow found a way to make this worse! That's a skill... Of all the younger actors B&B has cast during the past 5 years, LY has shown the most growth and range. Why get rid of her?
    • On the subject of sets (seems more interesting to discuss than the actual show)  Some sets we don't see anymore Lauren/Michael apartment (haven't seen that in years) Victoria's house (are Marian/Tessa living there?) Apartment above Crimson Lights (I think Chelsea was the last resident) Penthouse (Lily's home) Chancellor Estate (Devon/Abby) Chancellor office (once Dark Horse) Nick's house GCAC room (used as residence/hotel room for several characters) Some of these may pop up again. The tack house, for example, was not seen for many months before being used again. Have I missed anything?
    • Thanks for searching through everything. Worked on them so long, just too lazy to check for those links myself, so I am glad you chose to do it! I guess I never did type out anything for 1973-1977 in regards to the preemptions, but they are on the charts at least (and this far back, they don't seem to do any of those "breakouts" anymore, so things are simpler in the 1970's, so eventually I could type those out).
    • I dump on the Y&R sets problem all the time, but BOLD is no better -- and they're not even introducing new sets. All of their sets are years old, and very few look like they're inhabited by people with money. Is that going to change with this move? I'd rather they save the money spent on another remote, which is no better than an HGTV travelogue, and get some new/better sets.
    • The donut posts here make up for a Friday show that was barely meh. Aside from seeing Anna, I really didn't care much about anything else. While I understand the thought behind breaking up all the sadness with "other scenes," I'd rather they moved right to John's funeral. Instead of hearing a stupid story about John changing some minor character's tire 20 years ago, just move on to the crying. I also thought the Chad and Cat scenes were a waste. I realize not everyone is devastated by John's death to the point of not functioning, but going sky diving is a choice. By the way, Jack and Jennifer are giving me nothing on this return. Please leave asap. DAYS did such a great job with John's death, so ending the week this way was a letdown.
    • Add Dr. Montgomery to list of fine women on this show! I hope the show goes forward with Madison/Chelsea and then once they're developed, bring back Allison, who is now divorced or a widow, for a Madison/Chelsea/Allison triangle.  It would definitely be the hottest triangle in daytime.
    • I wonder if Linda Bloodworth-Thomason had Kim in mind for any of her other characters/series. If they intended Allison Sugarbaker (Julia Duffy's character) to be more in line with who Suzanne was/Delta Burke's portrayal-persona, then I think Kim would have aced that. Yes, it would have been odd, Kim having previously played a different character (from a different family), but Designing Women wouldn't have been the first show with that issue. Or maybe Kim could have played Beth Broderick's role on Hearts Afire. Or Patricia Heaton's role on Women of the House.
    • Sony is probably waiting until Y&R’s lease is up as well. All of TV City is going to be gutted, so they have to relocate at some point.
