Jason Gerhardt (Coop) revealed tonight on a radio show that he is in talks with Days to play a new character, supposedly a young doctor named Logan.

As much as I like Jason, I would rather than yave kept Martha and Brandon...Either way it goes, writing has to be done, and that writing could be done for characters with a history than someone that may or may not have any history when they begin their first scenes.

DAYS: December 2025 Discussion Thread

Today was a bit of a mixed bag.
It wasn't exactly boring, but everything just felt so low energy. Playing a lot of things like a big joke didn't help much either. Days does not need comic relief as much as some people think it does.
And yeah, Susan just needs to be killed off. I'm tired of her.
Everything surrounding Alex and Stephanie was ok, but it reeked of no budget. Alex and Stephanie can't come into contact with anybody due to potential exposure, but they evacuated to a public town square and then had a nice long conversation with Steve and Kayla? OK 😂😂😂
Maybe this would have been better if it had played out for a little longer. But I'm interested in seeing this all play out, even though I think they're missing the mark by not having Jeremy and his feud with Alex play a bigger part in all of this.
As for the Dimeras in the crypt, I felt the same way about those scenes today like I did on Friday: I'm not that big a fan of the storyline as a whole but I did enjoy Chad and EJ's scenes together. I like the way they went from EJ comforting Chad over the custody suit to Chad accusing EJ of being responsible for kidnapping everyone. It's an interesting dynamic between the two of them that I wouldn't mind playing into future storylines.
I wouldn't mind them returning to this style at all. All the elements are there for Days to return to this in 2026, especially with so many characters being weaved into the Dimera stuff.
Chris Whitesell was co-head writer during both of those years. Days should try to lure him back.

Kai wonders if Portia might be the culprit after all the stress Drew caused.      12/1/2025 -- sets up for Drew's wedding but can't stay due to a previous engagement -- Thanksgiving with the Ashfords. He and Trina overhear the news that Portia is pregnant and are there when the police show up for Curtis. 12/2/2025 -- at the Ashford home with a pissed Trina. She's angry that no one told her that her mother was preggers, she's angry about Jordan being at their home, she's angry to see Jordan kiss her dad, and she's ticked the police are there to see Curtis. 12/4/2025 -- with Trina, still upset about EVERYTHING! Returns to an empty cabin, as Portia was out with Ava then at the hospital, where Curtics catches up with her. 11/10/2025 -- with Portia while Felicia (on retainer from Alexis) questions her about the night Drew was shot (Wallow's whreabouts). Considered going to the police with an alibi for Portia. 12/1/2025 -- working with Portia because he didn't want her to be alone. Thrilled when the Q's arrive with dinner and proceeds to make out with Portia... 12/10/2025 -- Portia reveals to Isaiah that Curtis was arrested, and she may have to tell her whereaboutsthe nightof the murder. Isaiah will accept the consequences for his choice to sleep with his superior. 12/11/2025 -- worried about Portia, checks her into the hospital. While the Q's bring the dinner Chase made to the hospital to take care of the staff -- the way Monica would; Gio stays with Ned and they bond. 12/2/2025 -- Taking the pizza boxes out and runs into BlQ. The two bond some more (finally).   12/3/2025 -- Emma and Gio meet at the Brown Dog to talk recon on Dalton's lab.They bring the dogs from the lab to Sonny's house  12/4/2025 -- Emma and Gio show up at Sonny's house with a gaggle of dogs that they rescued from Dalton's hidden lab. Rocco is there because of his fight with Dante, who shows up. Ric tells them that they are compromising Rocco's freedom, because they broke the law. Rocco wants his dad to let it go... Tracy half-asses an apology until Ronnie tells her to "Put a sock in it, Tracy" Tracy needs her to repeat it. Monica always said that phrase. Ronnie says they always said it to one another as kids. Learns that Dalton never mentioned the lab being destroyed when he dragged Rocco physically to the debate... 11/18/2025 -- the officer that Charlotte and Danny confess to. 11/19/2025 -- Nathan believes the kids and sends CSIs to the lab for proof Rocco did any damage. Calls Alexis, Jason and Lulu in. 11/21/2025 -- comes across Laura and her flat tire at mile marker 8 and offers to help. Sonny arrives and Nathan is called away. @Vee @DRW50 @Broderick I purchased the 2012 e-edition of Peter M. Bracke's book Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th last October. Alas, it doesn't really have Kimberly Beck clear the air about her 1983 departure from Capitol. The e-edition quotes Ms. Beck as saying, "By the time of [Friday the 13th:] The Final Chapter, I had just left a soap opera called Capitol that I had been on for two years." In the e-edition, she doesn't say that she was "fired" or "let go" from Capitol. However, she is quoted as saying the following:
"You don't do porn or anything like that, but you do what you have to do to sustain the lifestyle that you've created. For me, I owned a home, and I had just divorced a really wealthy man and took nothing. I was struggling just to support myself and retain my dignity. It wasn't like I could be picky. And I had to fight to get that part. I had to go in and read a million times. And that, to me, is respectable."

Even considering what is said in this article as well as this other article, I can't say that Kimberly Beck was legally fired from Capitol in 1983. Should Ms. Beck have been ineligible for unemployment benefits just because the powers that be didn't think she was well suited to play a revised version of the Julie Clegg character?
In any case, I can't say it doesn't bother me that Ms. Beck didn't appear in too much of note after Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter cleaned up at the box office. Yes, she did appear on L.A. Law in 1987, but it just for one episode. Was Ms. Beck offered roles on any daytime soap operas after she left Capitol in 1983? Peter Barton, one of her castmates in The Final Chapter, did appear as Dr. Scott Grainger on The Young and the Restless from 1988 to 1993. (Kimberly Beck has admitted to briefly dating Peter Barton, but I can't independently verify IMDb's claim that they shared an apartment during the early '80s.)
