Members Y&RWorldTurner
Good to see LeClerc and I were dead on about DAYS. Melissa Salmons wrote for some of my favourite times at GL and she's quite good. Johnson at OLTL? Well, he's repped by Sarnoff, as is Carlivati. Definitely a gain for OLTL though. Members Sylph
But that had nothing to do with it.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
The Melissa Salmons thing confuses me though. She was one of the biggest union supporters during the strike, and now she's joining a show headed by two Fi-Core writers? I guess a paycheck is a paycheck, and she is talented so... Or could Salmons be a Rauch additon? I know he has a lot of writer friends and she did rejoin GL towards the end of Rauch's tenure there, before jumping to ATWT. Members Sylph
BTW, she is repped by The Gersh Agency, Inc.

Members sudz4u
Frederick Johnson's at OLTL? That's fantastic!
Members MarkH
But my Y&R doesn't NEED more writers.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Lisa Seidman, Amanda Beall, and Thom Racina can all leave as scriptwriters. In fact, after seeing Salmons work on GL and ATWT, I can say she's much better than those three, but of course she might not click with Y&R, who knows. Members LeClerc
YAY I finally got one of these things right. And, while nobody is going to believe this now, I was going to put in two guesses for the Y&R hint: Melissa Salmons (which would have been right) and....wait for it.....Frederick Johnson (since he has worked with Hogan and has a bit of a history at Y&R)! I've kind of freaked myself out now. I really wish Johnson was going back to AMC.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
It looks like Pratt has no intention of bringing back the traditional breakdown position, which is why I guess AMC hasn't had many additions to the staff. He must be content with most of the scriptwriters, but of course time will tell.
Members detroitpiston
He shouldn't be IMO.
Members LeClerc
In one of his interviews Pratt claimed that he would be bringing in some new young writers. I do think Kate Hall and Chip Hayes are great scriptwriters, as well as Jeff Beldner (if this becomes a regular thing). Joanna Cohen is okay. Rebecca Taylor, though, is a weak link. As is Pratt's first hire, Tracey Thomson. It's strange to me that OLTL is bringing in a fifth breakdown writer (Fred Johnson), but AMC can't have any? What exactly do Addie Walsh and Daran Little do at AMC if there aren't breakdowns? I guess Pratt's plan to ease the workload of the scriptwriters was to toss Jeff Beldner into the rotation? Members boldfan01
Has he ever directed for Y&R before? Since he's been with the show for almost its entire run, I always think "B&B" when I hear Stich's name, but I've often wondered if he might want to do an occasional Y&R episode, especially with Deveney Kelley doing some recent Y&R directing. But his experience in doing B&B location shoots definitely makes him the man for the job for Y&R's Paris trip. If it's like B&B, there will likely be in-studio scenes that will be edited together with the location footage (like the B&B Venice trip where Ridge and Taylor were in Venice, even though Ronn Moss and Hunter Tylo did all their scenes in the studio). I wonder if Y&R might let Stich direct some of those also, for continuity?
Members DaytimeFan
I like Thom Racina's scripts...Seidman and Beall (ugh her AMC work is atrocious) though can leave asap. Salmons's work on ATWT was really good. Hopefully she clicks with Y&R, not everyone does.
Members boldfan01
And that's what the credits showed. Stich directed some of the episodes when the storyline was in Sydney, but all the episodes that included remote footage in Sydney were directed by Kelly. And there was no separate "remote sequences directed by" credit, so wouldn't that mean Kelly directed everything in those shows, both remote and in the studio?
