Members DAYSisHOT
I hope I'm not the only SON member with DirecTV! What is with these commericals?
Members Rhiannon
No your not...... I saw the show today and it didn't seem any different to me, but it was the first day on Directv so I'll give it time. They used the same opening for the show that they usually do, it was the shorter version. The amount of self promotional commercials they used during the breaks was a bit shocking, don't know if that's what they usually do on the 101 since I never watched it before Passions started on there..... Members RogerNewcomb
I normally don't watch Passions, but I Tivo'd it today to see how it would be on DirecTV. I only watched the first 10 minutes or so and it looked the same to me, but like I said, I wasn't really a watcher before. I hope the show does well for The 101. Members JAS0N47
RogerNewcomb or anyone else who can get Passions, can anyone help with the credits each week so I can continue to maintain the correct list of guests and contract actors, etc... Roger, even if you could Tivo it and just jot down the credits (not even watching the show) I'd appreciate it. Once a week I need the full credits typed up, let me know if anyone can help, since I've done it since the show premiered in 1999. Thanks, Jason

Members KMan101
The quality was better. By that I mean the episode was much cleaner and brighter and clearer. My NBC station is not the greatest on DirecTV so it was nice seeing PASSIONS bright and vibrant. The episode was decent. Loved Julian's subdued reaction to Fox's death. It was actually very moving as Esme, Viki and Julian sat there next to a dying Fox and talked about their love for him. The Ethan/Theresa/Gwen/Pilar crap was literally just Theresa staring in shock at Gwen for the first hour and then the last five minutes we finally get an inch of movement with Theresa agreeing to tell Ethan about Little Ethan. Ethan of course bought Gwen's excuse of why she kept it quiet and she could do no wrong. I love Gwen and all but this woman gets away with way too much. The acting was REALLY bad with Pretty/Fancy/Luis. It was just so odd, boring and the acting was horrendous. It's bad when GALEN was the better one. I kid you not. Melinda and Emily were so subdued and almost like groggy. Very odd. Sheridan versus Spike was enjoyable. I love Sheridan like this. THIS Sheridan, the tormented one who's maybe a little off is what she should be, not some scheming psycho bitch ala Beth. Kay and Tabitha were very good. I enjoy them together so much. Loved Tabitha's worry for Endora and her fear she'll lose Endora like she lost Timmy. Tomorrow looks good with Sam talking to Esme about Fox and Ivy learning from Julian about Fox's death. Administrator Toups Posted September 18, 2007 Administrator Share Posted September 18, 2007 Anyone know the director for Monday and Tuesday?
Administrator Toups Posted September 18, 2007 Administrator Share Posted September 18, 2007 Just finished watching Monday's episode! I noticed that they got new background music and I liked it a lot. I still can't believe they killed off Fox for real. Just like Chad, Fox was shot and died like 5 seconds later. Pretty quick deaths. LOL Tuesday's episode looks good too. Looking foward to it. Members Matt P.
If Passions made a new opening do you think that the ratings would go up?
Members skiman12082004
I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the episodes yet. My Niece is mailing them to me next week. She has 8 hour tapes so she is going to send me 2 weeks of episodes every other week.
Members nassaunew
Courtaney posted this on another board: Someone yesterday posted that the list of writers' names appeared shorter at the end of Passions. My tape ran out during the credits both days, so I missed it there, but I made sure to watch the credits during this evening's run and the writers' list was definitely shorter. Gone were N. Gail Lawrence, who was at the top of the second page of writing credits before, as well as Peggy Schibi, Maralyn Thoma, and Nancy Williams Whitt from the third page of credits. New to the team of writers was Shawn Morrison, who along with Clem Egan and Pete T. Rich made up the third list of writers. The second page is now just two people: Marlene Clark Poulter and Darrell Ray Thomas, Jr., while James E. Reilly, of course, is the headwriter. I am not sure what this will mean for the show, but it looks like the writers were definitely hit with cuts too. And while I am assuming N. Gail Lawrence is a female and Shawn Morrison a male, they could be the opposite as well. But it looks like the writing crew is not only smaller, but is comprised of a higher percentage of males than before. (Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I think it may be unusual for perhaps only one female writer to be on a soap). I have no clue who wrote what before but I hope the one(s) who penned Evian's great love story is still onboard.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Thanks for posting this nassaunew! I didn't beleive they'd be cutting this many many writers this fast. I'm kind of surprised. Anyway, I fully expect these writers to resurface on other soaps, in fact they're all GL alums, but I doubt they'd be going back there.
