I'm not a fan of Kirsten Storms, but i don't think her getting a DUI warrants her losing her job..She should lose her license for a year, and pay a fine..But it shouldn't affect her job..Lots of good people get DUI's, its just whether you learn from your mistake that really makes the difference..

Not surprised at all. She has been a party girl since the latter part of her Days run. I have disliked her since the last 2 years of her Days run but her antics outside of work have only served to lessen my view of her.

This was just stupid because it was a lit cigarette that could have led to bigger problems. Add the fact that she was behind a wheel on top of that and it's ridiculous. How hard is it to call a cab or someone to come and get you? I don't judge people because we all make mistakes but this girl made two big ones here.

She shouldn't be fired though unless this behavior continues and it leads to something bigger. If this becomes a recurring thing and gets worse, then I may force her to take a hiatus or something so she can get help.

Considering Genie Francis, herself (via her Lifetime Intimate Portrait) has said that she succumbed to a cocaine addiction via staff members of the show, I doubt a DUI would get Kirsten fired.

I agree that it was on her own personal time, and unless she has a "morals clause" in her contract that stipulates such events as being reasons for termination, then it shouldn't matter.

But... if this causing trouble with her work schedule, she should totally get reprimanded and work only her contracted minimum until the situation gets resolved.

But then, at the end of the day, when you have Kelly Monaco, who has posed fully nude (front and back) in Playboy magazine BEFORE you even hired her, it's incredibly hypocritical to exert a morals clause for a DUI. We don't know how intoxicated she was or what. All we know is that she was pulled over because she tossed a lit cigarette out of her car window.

Not to mention the fact that she's young, blonde and has become the latest young starlet to follow in the trend of the women Frons wants to fuck admire so much -- Paris and Lindsay. She'll probably get a stern talking to, and that's that.

I can't speak for everyone, but personally, I feel it's a victory for two reasons: 1) transparency; public awareness about irresponsible, well-to-do women who drink and drive, in the tradition of Paris and Lindsay (and therefore, awareness and public safety go hand in hand); and 2) As so many others have stated, Kristen FINALLY gets her comeuppance for putting on a show for so long. So, there's transparency there, too, seeing her true colors. All but confirming what past gossip blotters have published.

I am soooooo not defending Kirsten Storms -- I totally dislike her. But, what are they supposed to do? Change their ways of living all because they're on contract? That's not realistic. Lesli Kay and Kari Wurher's pasts could've come back to bite them after they appeared on GH as a GOTCHA GOTCHA, and they (ABC, Kay and Wurher) would still have to deal with it as if it happened recently. I don't know anything about the inner-workings of morals clauses (only that some ABC actors have been fired because of them), but I would think that if anything you do or HAVE done might pose a problem for ABC, they reserve the right to terminate employment. So, if they didn't think that soft porn (Anthony Addabo, recast Dimitri on AMC) is that big of a deal -- and that was a professional decision, unless they did it for free, then what Stormsie Wormsie does on her own time shouldn't matter either. And it won't, because young blonde celebs having DUI's is the "in" thing now.

A hopeful that auditioned for I Wanna Be A Soap Star was praised by the judges, but never made it through because he had a past felony. So, I think ABC picks and chooses who they allow to skate, and who they punish.

ABC fired Michael Nader because of his cocaine addiction -- which I found incredibly hypocritical when Walt Willey said that a lot of the AMC staff (not necessarily actors) were snorting the coke in the late 80's early 90's, and he credits Felicia Behr for getting them clean (himself included). It only became a problem with Nader because he was arrested for it, and it was publicized.
