Nah I think that's being true to character and history--and also not making an overall "good" character (Nora) behave like a saint like good characters on soaps often are forced to but liek a real human with ambigouities, stubborn hang ups, etc (oh and of course actuallyw anting to uphold the law...) DOn't get me wrong--I'm a bigger Lindsay fan than a Nora fan but...

Brimike--agreed with everything you said

Eric, they sure do love OLTL at TV Guide Canada! I agree, it's a bit much. After all, OLTL has improved a great deal, but it's hardly the second coming!

As for the ratings, I am not sure when OLTL hit #3. I mean no disrespect to the great people who give us the soap ratings every Thursday at SON, but the rags always have different numbers. Maybe there are a third set somewhere the we never get to see! LOL!

Regarding the comparisons to Carlivati and Doug Marland, perhaps TV Guide is referring to industry scuttlebut that we as viewers and fans simply do not have access to. Personally, I think the comparison is way too premature, but Carlivati really has been successful in uniting practically the entire cast in a huge umbrella story (Spencer/Tommy), which is something Marland excelled at.

Maybe they mean Canadian ratings? i know ratings in Canada have often been a bit different (Another World even near its end was still fairly highly rated here)

While watching OLTL today I did kinda realize that the show had almost snuck up on me in a way--I didn't consciously think about how much more I'd been enjoying it the past 3 weeks but, really, it has come together and become something I watch all the way through and enjoya nd look forward to daily which I'm not sure I can really say about OLTL since the early return of Malone/Griffith (2003??4?)-as people here know I was perhaps even slightly unreasonably NOT a fan of much of Dena's reign at all even the early stuff some on here loved. Was also nice to see C's name solo as HW today--was that a first?

Still, maybe I'm too cautious but I'm not ready to commit to the show being back on track fully yet or any other praise--and won't be for probably another month at least. And to say (like TVGuide did) that it's the best the show's been in a decade... Well I have toa dmit a lot of the late 90s, and MctAvish, and Whitesall/Broderick terms are blury in my head (or I didn't watch too often) I'm not ready to say that either. But I must somewhat reluctantly give up props :)

I have to admit I am not feeling as much as I thought I would with this story, I am not impressed with Ron right now but Kathy Brier is saving this mess for me. Her acting has been spot on, Monday and Tuesday she was just head and shoulders above those around her. If it weren't for her those McBain family scenes with her , Mike and John would have been FF material for me since Mike and John did nothing at all. They didn't even seem interested in being in those scenes, Marcie and Kathy ROCKED, but I still felt such a let down, I fell like there should be more crying and hugging and holding between Mike and Marcie at this point but they are just not written very well. imo

Todd has become such a shreiking shrew, he has taken the title away from Marcie, Blair and Dorian for me.

When he was saying that Tommy was his son and said he was going to take him home, he looked and sounded like a perverted pedophile talking a little boy into his car,..It disgusted me

Agree! I was upset especially by NM and Michael... it's still obvious that he knew and John looked totally bored and uninterested.

Again... I have to agree. I don't care that he has rights, it's always "It's my son!" and "That's my son!" and "I want my son". I'm like STFU Todd, I *freaking* get it. And I'm feeling that it's all about possesion with by referring to Tommy as an "it" as often as he does.

I was majorly disgusted with Monday's show when he was just spewing all the hate on Blair, like he never hurt her with the Jack episode. I'm tired of her (and everyone else in Llanview but Marcie and McBain bros) tip toeing around his a$$. I haven't liked Blair in awhile, but her putting Todd on the blast about her feelings and hurt back then, would raise my level of respect so much for the character.
