Hawkeye has a noticeable margin of error that impacts accuracy. Maybe because it's on clay, that leaves a mark, tennis bodies think that Hawkeye would not be any more accurate than just finding and pointing out the mark.

In fact, due to Hawkeye's obvious margin of error, it's probably less accurate on clay than just finding the mark.

Also, from what I've read, rigging up the apparatus for Hawkeye is no small feat.

About a year and some months ago, someone died while helping to set up Hawkeye at a tournament in China. Perhaps with all these factors, the clay tournaments might feel that it's not worth the risk to set up something that is no more accurate than the human eye.

Interesting, so they confirmed that Hawkeye is not accurate? For years players have complained about it, and there have been times on TV when I will be watching and think....that ball may have been in/out but there's no way it was by that much.  This scene was a scream - they played it on Tennis Channel today...the guy screaming and yelling when the other one double faulted?  I don't know either of these players and honestly I don't care if it's unsportsmanlike....if someone acted that way to me in a match I wouldn't shake his hand either.  The wave was funny!  LOL

It's not 100% accurate, I doubt anything can be.  There will always be a margin of error.

I think this was the reason why players like Roger Federer and Marat Safin were initially skeptical, if not completely opposed to the use of Hawkeye.

The difference, I think, is that on certain surfaces where the ball does not leave a clear mark, like hardcourts, Hawkeye is deemed more accurate than the human eye.

I had not heard of either of them but it's his first GS win since 2015?  I looked him up and he usually never gets past the first round.  But you act like that against a Qualifier???  No wonder he doesn't get anywhere....and not to be mean, but I see he's 27.  Not young at this point.   Honey, if you're not on your way to the top by now, you're just Alpo for the real Rottweilers out there.  Have a seat.

OK, the Steve Johnson end of the match - I cried.  I had no idea about what his story was and his Dad's death...

I hope that Serena Williams does come back and smashes Margaret Court's grand slam record.

And I hope Tennis Australia changes the name of the arena.

I for one will boycott it until they do.

I saw what she said...so sad.....I am surprised TC has not even mentioned it on their broadcast.

Berdych is out!  Karen beats him.

It was so hard to watch Nico Almagro laying flat on his back, openly sobbing like that.:(

I am not caring for TC milking these situations especially Stevie Johnson's father passing. And John Trump Isner is being asked about it. I wish Stevie hadn't played this tourney. It is way too soon and they were even getting on Borna for his shake hand at the end of the match. GMAB....he was upset he lost and did shake his hand but this was more about him losing than being disrespectful to his father....ridiculous.
