I've just clicked onto the Men's Doubles championship.

I heard that the Women's championship had a lot of empty seats and I wonder whether this doubles match will have the same or more in attendance. Usually doubles championships tend to not be very well attended unless there are stars in the final. An American team is in the final but I don't know whether that is enough to draw a large crowd.

Yeah, there were a lot of empty seats in the final. The Fed vs Nick match was completely full last night.  If Venus or Serena aren't in the finals the crowds will be so much lower in the states. There is even less people in the men's double championship. It seems like the few that went left too....LOL.  Jack Sock isn't a fan favorite even though he is an American.

The crowds were bad in the last two Roger matches and he(Roger) eggs them on with his support of it after his match. Roger made this face after shaking Nick's hand ...like fool you thought you were going to beat me look....LOL....

I wonder how much the tickets for today's match were going for? Probably 5 dollars....LOLOLOL   Roger vs Nadal front row tickets are going for over 800 dollars.

I'm so tired of hearing about "poor Nick"  Nick has gotten away with the most foul behavior for so long.  Telling his opponent his woman is shagging someone else during a match, tanking matches when he didn't feel like playing?  That's not fair to opponents.  You can't get better and beat the best if the person across the net is playing at 20% because he'd simply rather be somewhere else.  I'm not against Nick, but I'm certainly not for him.

I am not a fan of Nick's either. He loses a lot of points by playing trick/show off shots. And yes he is full of sh!t too. I am surprised he even has a gf that tolerates him. It was Stan that he told that his new fling had already been banged by Thanasi Kokkinakis. And that was said during a match that he was losing to Stan...so low class.

Jack and his big belly, er, I mean partner Nick Monroe lost the match against Kubot and Melo.

The great thing about Jack is he has motivated me to start working out again after a lengthy hiatus. I just completed a yoga challenge and I'm starting another one tomorrow. I'm going to start increasing the length of my workouts until I build my endurance enough to re-start more vigorous exercise.

Ah thats great! The only thing Jack motivates me to do is puke when I see his belly and buck teeth.

Thanks! @ChitHappens @Soapsuds Here's to hoping I can stay consistent.

Speaking of unattractive American male tennis players, didn't one of the Harrison brothers get married recently?

I admit to scanning Netflix while most of the match was on but from what I've seen Kubot and Melo were in fine form. With all the singles stars, it must be something of a relief to doubles specialists that, in the end, it's more or less doubles guys that come through the tournament and win the championship.

So who's winning today? Rafa or Fed? Will the hype just be that like IW or will it be a better match?? Will Roger have any gas left?....LOL  All those stories to be answered on As The Tennis Ball Turns....LOL

As a tennis fan, I just hope it's a good quality match.  Nothing is more painful to watch than when you're certain that the match is a foregone conclusion, either because one player has beaten the other so many times that the results are predictable or when either player has run out of gas and you get a lopsided match or worst still, both players are "punch-drunk" from too much match play and can barely keep the ball in the court.

I'm honestly neutral on the whole Roger vs. Rafa thing. Whoever wins, wins. I just want a great quality match.

Roger is gonna win. Just give me 3 sets!  Fed is possibly the smartest male player to ever take the court. He doesn't have the greatest speed but he's a scientist and knows his opponent's next move before they do.
