All of this.  When watching Nick, you have to put aside any wondering about him on the court.  You literally have to put the wondering aside - as to wondering what he is upset about, what he could possibly want from his box (do you want them to yell, or not yell, you tell me Nick) - or whatever.  If you wonder, you would go insane.  He acts like a child you cannot satisfy.  I was 100% on Novak's side for the match.  Like him or not, he wants to be out there (unlike Nick who has spent a lot of time explaning he is just there to entertain, not for the tennis - or whatever he says this week or next week or whenever).  And all in all, I'm tired of hearing commentators say that this appears to be the match where Nick has turned the corner, and has his feelings under control and this is really it, folks  - you were here to see it.  (Me: No you were not.  He will go back to his old self in about 5 minutes - you've said this for 7 or 8 years now.  Or longer).  He's no longer the "young talent" to me - he's way past time that he could have/should have won by now....and when you're fighting to beat 35 and 36 year olds, you're not going to convince me that you're a all-time-great.

And one edit:  I had to look/listen 2 or 3 times extra - to hear this was his first Slam final?  Is that right?  I feel like he's been in 80 with all the talking of how great he is.  That cannot be good.

The braying at the player’s box, the grass eating..I’m over it…all of it.  Nick needs to get over the fact that the ATP in its present state doesn’t have 1/10th the cool factor of the NBA or even half the cool factor of the players in UEFA. It just doesn’t and he needs to accept it and stop carrying on and acting out. Tennis is a niche sport for a reason, everyone has to accept that. And describing only one man as controversial without mentioning the other is ridiculous.

The banning of Russians/Belarusians and the lack of points have made this tournament an embarrassment. I was happy to see Novak dial in against Nick nonetheless. He put those two losses against Nick in 2017 (when he was injured) well behind him.

The garbage tennis channel and the writers are trying to sell now.

DOES JOHN ISNER BELONG IN THE INTERNATIONAL TENNIS HALL OF FAME?

He's the all-time leader in aces, and he prevailed in the sport's longest match ever—but his qualifications go beyond that of a typical player.

That match made me want to watch less tennis, not more. It was like watching two punch drunk boxers stagger against the ropes of the ring while no one falls down for the count but you wish someone would.

I rarely watch an Isner match, they are so lackluster. He has to be playing someone else that I really want to see play, because he alone doesn’t do anything for me as a fan of tennis.

I have always said - he’s a server. If the point starts, it’s over. He’s not even a tennis player to me.  It’s the one thing I’ve said positive about Opelka. He does stand a chance if the point starts. Similar but I feel like he can at least play. Hall of fame worthy? He’ll to the No.

    • You’d think he would’ve learned after the way Sprina took off.  I hope we get a proper Emma/Gio/Trina/Kai quad, as friends, romantic rivals, etc. In the few scenes that the four of them have had together, I felt like there was a natural chemistry between all of them, similar to the way that Cam/Spencer/Trina/Joss was, in the beginning.  And, it would be a lot better than all this stuff with Kai’s surgery.
    • Hooray we made the exact same critique to Londonscribe!!!!!
    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
