Good to see the ratings up for most of the soaps.

General Hospital has been stuck at a 2.6 for the past two months. Something DRASTIC needs to happen. I repeat this week in and week out. It's obvious that the Lucky/Liz/Jason/Sam story with baby Jizus is NOT doing the show any good. It's ashame that this is the frontburner story for the show. Everything else is pretty much alright. They need to make some changes or else they're going to fall below a 2.6. If B&B falls another week, it'll tie w/ GH or fall below it. That's nothing for ABC to be proud of. Yeah they can spin they're holding steady, but there's no growth.

DAYS is up as predicted over last week. Overall I'm enjoying the show a lot. Their weakest story is the teens and thank god they don't get a lot of airtime. The problem with DAYS is the lack of "other" stories going on. We are beginning to see them develop (like Andre impersonating Tony) and it's good that they all lead back to the big umbrella story, however........some diversity would be good. Again...I'm not complaining.

AMC deserves better ratings than it got last week. AMC & OLTL are quite frankly the best soaps on ABC right now. GH is a very distant third (mainly because of their two main stories that people hate).

I understand Ron. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

To say that AMC and OLTL are the best soaps on ABC right now is saying a lot. Especially when you compare the quality of the shows from the beginning of 2006.

GH started the year off very good IMO, then dropped the ball in late April & May...and haven't been able to recover since.

AMC has been on a creative quality upswing since McTavish was fired and the interim writers took over. The show is far from perfect, but the things that the fans actually want (i.e. balance, character interaction, dark tones being replaced with light ones, stories involving families). The show is 10X better than it was when written by McTavish.

OLTL has been great ever since Higley was fired. The show had an ABYSMAL month in May, and they've rebounded very well in late June & July.

Again, it's about comparing quality then, to quality now. Comparing stories then, and stories now.
