What Is Your "Me" Place?

My me place is in my living room with all the lights out, looking out the large bay window. When I just want to be alone and not hear anything or anyone, I go there. I do that quite often when I just need to think about things or if I've had a bad time.

Honestly, mine is in the shower, in the morning, and that great feeling you get when the hot water hits your head and goes down your back.

There is just old white gazebo up on a hilltop two blocks from my home. It overlooks a large forested area and it's just gorgeous. I would have to say there. It's so peaceful. I go up there to relax and to calm down in the rare occasion that I get worked up enough to have to calm down. It's also a great place to see fireworks on the 4th and looks really pretty in the winter, even though it's hard to get up there in the winter.

the living room. lying on the couch with a blanket.

If I'm in my room it's usually because my mom's home and I'm hiding out.

In the tub. Not shower, TUB.

Soap suds ... sometimes with soothing, meditation music in the background ... the water up to my neck. And it's HOT. (I put just below scalding water in there.) Beads of sweat drip down my face. Steam rising ... and I'm just soaking. And relaxing. I don't need to bathe right away. Just soak. Lie in state, literally. Go limp and do nothing. Just enjoy the water. The peacefulness. The HOT, HOT room.

I wish I were there right now!

I mainly write short stories as an escape from the life I have.....Anything to think of other characters; anything that I can find some sort of happiness...that's another 'Me' Place....

I have a few places where I can relax...

1) sitting in my room in the middle of the night watching movies, surfing the net (as I am now), or reading. It is so peaceful once the family is all in bed. Sometimes I'll even listen to the radio as I float between awake and asleep.

2) Taking a walk through the country side. I'm so glad we moved out of the city.

3) At school, I go to the stream that cuts the campus in half. The sound of the rushing water is relaxing.

Any place where I can escape the city and be reacquainted with nature, I love. A place I like to hike to is behind a graveyard, there is a wooded area with an incline. You get to the top and it's like being on top of the world. I don't go there often enough.

I have to say the gym these days. I can just focus on myself and work off a lot of energy.
