The character is like this because LML doesn't know how to write Phyllis. Now even Phyllis is becoming predicatable. I always liked that she was a little off centered and you didn't quite know what she would do in a sticky situation but you knew she was gonna find a way to get herself out of it. LML has made a once strong, complex character almost weak as wet tissue.

A premiere.

Un unfortunate and sad premiere however: For the first tme ever I used the FF-button while watching Y&R. I actually used the skip button and therefore missing 30 seconds for good.

Why ? Phyllis whing routine with Jack was too much! WTF!?

I therefore am glad that Dee and Chris are steting the record straight.

Phyllis lost custody of Little Daniel in 1997 (when he was two/three) - for very good reasons. Did she try to be a wonderful mother for him? Not so much.

To my greatest delight Danny Smarmalotti was written off the show in May 1998 and too Daniel with him - Phyllis was not too much affected by it, to say the least. I can't remember she ever visited her son afterwards.

Therefore this YouTube-clip from 2003/04 (?) one or two pages ago is ridiculous: It's not exactly like a 16-year old needs a strong mother figure - especially when she is notoriously incompetent in this field.

To sum it up: Phyllis was NEVER a mother for Daniel untill he became an adult (after the first year where she did take care of her son extremely well - to impress Danny). Considering Phyllis seems to totally unable to stand in for her faults or learn sth. from her mistakes this was a blessing in disguise.

I'd rather see her terrorizing her enemies as well. I'd love nothing more than to see her go psycho on Sharon just like she did The Bug and then get away with it again. I think Phyllis is a victim of her own success in some ways. I've visited a few fan boards and people seem to really react badly to the idea of "old" Phyllis coming out to play.

I agree last week's Jack/Phyllis scenes were pretty bad and I'm expecting more of the same this week. I think I'm actually going to be rooting for Sharon over Phyllis again.

    •     I don't think Neil Wade died in an automobile accident. I think he died of an embolism. Unless he was driving at the time and it caused him to crash. Jeff was the only husband she had who died in a car accident.

The 50s and 60s are over. Storytelling won't go back to that type. The 80s and 90s are over. Storytelling won't go back to that type.   I understand the nostalgia and enjoying a certain type of storytelling that was popular when growing up/being 20, 30 yrs old. That's why I watch TV series from the 70s and 80s and not as much current television. But I understand that people's attention spans have changed and therefore storytelling has changed and everything has gotten more expensive and there are more and more projects competing for eyeballs and the big flashy stuff is what makes people look up from their phones 5 seconds before going back to them.  We can never go back to before.

date: Monday, June 9 | Teresa Zimmerman, Lynn Martin | Steven Williford YAY! Caroline is back in action at the law offices. I adore Caroline! She is a woman of business, and she handles her business quite well. Could this be the chance for Tomas to move ahead at Bill Hamilton Esq.? Madison is doing the usual tests for strokes: smiling, holding out the hands, etc., but I do wonder if she'll have him touch the tip of her finger and then the tip of his nose. That one is not easy at all. Trust me, I know! It's about time Derek becomes useful: helping to take down Dana by witnessing her interrogation of Ashley at Orphey Gene's. Oh, Nicole is showing up to question Eva, re: her interactions with Laura. This will either be a bitchfest or it'll be a heartfelt one. Cantankerous? Yes, Ashley! Call it like you see it! Is Tomas working with Katherine to set up Dana? I pray he is!! Child bride needs to calm her ass down; now she's hugging Naomi as if they're besties again? This isn't your "get out of jail" card, sweetheart. The weight that I am sure is now lifted from Eva's shoulders with Nicole accepting her apology? I love that for her. And I am sure, deep down, it helps Nicole to accept and hear it, as well. Dani showing up for Bill and their children? That's love right there, and you can tell how much it not only means for Bill but might also be reminding him of why he fell in love with her. Watch out, child bride; your time might be up by mid-summer! Katherine, you are sneaky... but I do have this sneaking suspicion this is going to blow up right back into your face before you know it. The awkward face-to-face with Chelsea and Madison. Dani introducing herself as "the first wife" is hilarious. I love it. Chelsea and Madison openly flirting in the hospital by the elevator is super cute!! Notes: Trisha Mann-Grant (Dana) continues to serve up the right amount of camp for American daytime. She's almost too good for daytime. I appreciate the new viewpoint of the outside of Dana's apartment. Nice that we can get these viewpoints that other soaps wouldn't dare to explore. Tide is seen in the scene; Tide commercials air right after. Today's jacket on Alex Alegria (Tomas) fits better than the past few he's worn. Hoping this trend continues.

Leslie to Kat: "The only branch that I want is the one that goes across your behind for your insolence" LOL...if Leslie was her stepmother, she'd have whooped her disobedient azz
    • I continue to love any Kat and Leslie scenes together haha.
