Members SpiritualJunkie
I was beyond disappointed when I heard Alison was being brought back only to be played by a recast. I loved the character to death and I always thought Jessica Dunphy was perfect in the role. Nevertheless, I was willing to give Marnie Schulenburg (sp?) the benefit of the doubt. I watched about one episode of L.A. Diaries and thought MS was awful. Wooden doesn't even begin to describe my impression of her portrayal. She's doing a waay better job on ATWT. I think she's a good actress but she's not Alison - she's a Rosanna wannabe. From time to time, I've liked this new Alison's scenes but overall, the Alison I knew and loved is gone. And just to clarify my thoughts even more...I ran across this scene between JD's Alison and Emily from 2003...
Members winterguy125
Overall I like her, but at times I still don't,lol. I think I will probably be able to make a better determination once they ever end this meth addiction she has, so I can see how the real Alison acts and carries on with her business. I think at times the actress is very good and one of the better ones on the show, but alot of time when she is doing her snorting of the meth or acting all high and everything I really don't like her portrayal of her, but other than that like I said I like her. As for her being Alison to me, that one is still to soon to tell, but at this point the previous one fitted that role better.
Members Chris B
This isn't a difficult role to recast, IMO, but I don't like this girl. There are times I don't mind her, but overall she is just strange to me. Her looks, her voice is kinda grating and her acting doesn't connect for me. I don't see her as having chemistry with anyone nor do I see her becoming a fan favorite like the previous Alison.
Members kelly1142
:: at the Paul/Emily mentions and on a shallow note love KMH's hair in that clip :: On topic...I think MS is a good actress, but so far, and it's probably the story more than anything, I'm not feeling "Ali". JD's Ali was a screw up sure, but she had this charm about her. MS's Ali seems very...cold? I don't know...again, it's probably more the writing and the story than the actress. Members Soapsuds
She is ok/good. But ATWT has other problems like Brad(Austin Peck) ughhhhhhhhh!
Members SapphireGirl
It's possible that it could be the story, but right now I can't stand the character, and I'm not impressed by her portrayer. Hopefully there will be improvement.
Members KLN
I don't like her, whatsoever. I saw her on Y&R -- same chick from Y&R right? -- and she SUCKED. Badly.
Members sungrey
I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt IF the rumored writing change turns out to be true. JP's essentially wrecked a couple characters on here (Oh, hi Adam!!!) and Alison's on the fast track to being bent beyond recognition.
Members WTGH
I don't hate her but I don't love her. JD's Alison and this Alison are two totally different characters for me.

Members P.J.
Like the actress...like the direction Alison is being written in. JD, IMO, was the best of the teen group at the time, but that wasn't saying much. Peyton and Agim were borderline awful. JD's Alison was like a hyperactive puppy...stupid, inconsiderate, annoying but quirky enough to appreciate. But, writing a member of a core family like that seemed lazy and a waste to me. This is EMILY's child, living in the wake of Emily's life, even if Emily wasn't "raising" her. Alison needs to be a young bitch, not a screwball comedy driven character. Being a b!tch lets her drive the action. Being fluffy makes her, well, Katie, who's usually as inconsequential as a gnat, storyline-wise. Now...I could have done without the porn star past. I think it's a cheap ploy to "connect" Em and Ali. Like, Em needed to see Ali wasting her life in almost the exact same way to reach out to her? WTH? Doing drugs wouldn't be enough? Members P.J.
Yeah...well...hopefully not for long. But, if he services Katie...hey...I'm a'ight with that. I don't care what stud services her. As long as it ain't Jack. Other than being taller than Mark Collier, there's not a lot of difference when I ff.
Members juppiter
I really like the actress, and the character has been amusing..... but she's sooooo different from the Alison that Jessica Dunphy played. I miss that Alison. I'm sad that that Alison is gone forever.
Members SpiritualJunkie
I can understand how Alison could become cold (perfect word to describe her right now) but I just don't see much of Ali's character in MS's portrayal. She acts like a high society snob and the fact that she sounds like Ro just never fails to bug the heck out of me. JD's Alison could be a bitchy troublemaker but there was still something about the character that you could relate to...as if, underneath it all, she was a good person who just made a lot a lot of stupid mistakes and was full of insecurities. This new Ali acts like she's sitting on some high horse and other than the scene where Emily asked her to strip, I haven't really seen anything from MS's portrayal that makes me want to feel sorry for Alison. The story is better than I thought it would be..and by story, I'm referring to the porn/crystal meth stuff, not this "OMG, Alison Stewart looks, acts, and sounds like Rosanna Cabot!" crappola.
