AW alumn cast on FOX soap

The news thread for the FOX soap is closed, so I'll post this here. Diego Serrano (ex-Tomas, AW; ex-Diego, Y&R) has been cast on the FOX soap "Born in the USA". It would be great if more daytime alumn were cast.

Tembi Locke (Windfall) is Lisa Tucker's ma, while Jon Rowland, Rod Rowland (V. Mars), Scarlett Chorvat and Diego Serrano are Born in the USA on Simon Fuller's Fox sudser fancied as EastEnders-in-Philadelphia.

Y&R: June 2026 Discussion Thread

Don’t get me wrong I am loving this new Phyllis and Sharon friendship but I couldn’t help but take notice today of how boring the writing is for the female rivalries of this show under JG. He does plenty of male rivalries somewhat well but the women are just all holding hands singing kumbaya? We have Victoria and Sally in the park talking about how much they wish eachother well and blah blah blah. Yeah it’s all very sweet but where is the DRAMA? Are we forgetting this is a soap? The Audra and Claire drama is boring again and basically non existent. The only female character bringing anything interesting is Patty with her wanting Diane out of the picture.
The women are far too tame for my liking. I know we are living in different times and women have evolved in the real world but this is still a soap.

BTG: June 2026 Discussion Thread

Finally the show delivered some drama. I didn't find everything successful, but having Kat and Eva trapped was classic old school soap. As was Bill and Dani. I can see Jacob and Kat developing feels for each other, now that they've both endured these traumas.
Soaps gonna soap. Dirty deeds done dirt cheap...

He goes over to Fenmore's and speaks with Lauren who is pretending to be filling in as Ms. Fenmore's secretary but is then busted by her own employee who comes in to hand her some documents.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread

Oh it did horrible damage to Viki in the long term, and in the short term you had the damage of killing Meredith, giving up on and killing Tony, and so on. I don't know where Viki would have been without Erika, Clint/Viki, and then Rauch putting the character back at the center of the show. By the show's last years it was just Erika powering through a lot of poor and weak writing.

Count me as someone who feels the same. I think Kat is perfection as a soap character. I also like the actress very much, but there are a few things that Colby does that take me right out of the scene. I have actually mentioned these before. There are instances where it feels like Colby is recalling her lines as she is saying them. Reminds me of back in high school when the Type A student who is super nervous of public speaking would literally memorize their class presentation. They would then get in front of class and it was like they were reciting a speech instead of just remembering key points. It sounded rehearsed instead of natural speaking. I sense this with Colby and I feel she is a perfectionist, so she wants to nail those lines exactly as they are written on the page every single time. That is amazing- but many times I can almost feel and see her thinking about the lines as she is reciting them. She has these tiny awkward pauses between words and lines sometimes which give off the wheels are churning energy. It's like she is saying ok what do I need to say next.
