Oh boy! I can't wait. Did you guys read about Rachael's death? She was on last seasons show. I really liked her, too.

Whoops! I just posted the same thing in the HK thread.

My apologies.

Feel better, Shawn. Welcome back, Adam!

Ugh, I hate massive headaches that won't go away. I couldn't do ANYTHING all day long. And now, I have an hour before work. Feh. Headache, you can comne back now!

A realization has come full circle today.

For months, I've been battling with (and ignoring) the problems caused by my father claiming me as a dependent. My pareents have told me countless times that they can not help me with school financially. I'm okay with that. As a dependent, I'm basically screwed when it comes to financial aid. I simply can not get it. Before today, I'd formed the opinion that my father was claiming me solely for the extra money. Yet, he always said he has to claim me. I've been unable to get to his mindframe until now. The only reason I have health insurance right now is because I'm a dependent.

Meanwhile, my therapist has suggested cutting loose. For instance, looking into a youth hostel somewhere, where I can be given a place to stay, food to eat, learn to be on my own. He suggested this as part of year-abroad consideration at a four-year, which is hopefully in my future. But, if I cut loose, what of my health insurance? What am I going to do? I want to be free. The freedom he suggested is a marvelous attraction. I'm fully aware of the lessons I'll have to learn to enjoy that freedom, but hell, it would be well worth it.

Big situation. But I say you should take it both ways. Keep the dependence status and move out.

I'm going to give my roommate my official notice that I"m moving out.

Any ideas on how to do it?

^Best to have a conversation with him and tell him how you feel and why you need a change in life/location. Oh and face to face is the best option, phone calls and e-mails are just lousy in these types of situations. LOL

Two weeks notice before you move out seems to be the golden rule, however, if the situation is imminent, then just explain yourself as best and honestly as you can.

Well my finances right now are pretty damn bad. I'm thinking that I'm gonna be moving home next weekend.

Not what I want to do, of course, especially since I don't get along with my family, but I really have no choice.

Just tell him that. Money is always a reasonable excuse and you should not tell him via note, AIM, msn, email or any type of electronic note. For example, DO NOT change your facebook status to "Shawn is... moving out of his place and plans to tell his roommate via facebook." Best way is to phone him or tell him in person, straight out.
