What would make me happy is if Beth Chamberlain was in Supp over Genie Francis. Kim Zimmer was replaced with Nancy Lee Grahn. And Jeanne Cooper was replaced with Kassie Depaiva. I'd even replace Katherine Kelly Lang with Michelle Stafford, just for some variety, and because KKL wasn't half bad, and actually delivered during her 'big story.' But I would still keep Flannery off that list. It would have been nice to see PSNS get more nods, just because, well you know...

I was thinking the same thing. Both things, actually - especially about GH winning when they didn't really deserve to.

As for your observation that HT and DG getting nominated proves someone was watchingtheir tapes, I thought the exact same thing. And I hope at least DG gets the win as a big F U to Brian Frons.

Agreed on the bolded ones, ESPECIALLY on Chamberlain, though I'd rather take out REG or Herbst than Francis. Yeah, Genie was only on for a month, but the subtext & nuance she brought to each performance blew every other GH supporting actress (with the possible exception of Jane Elliot) out of the water.

I don't think I'd put KDP in there for last year- she's been far better before (with better writing). I'd have rather Alfonso or Minshew made the cut than KDP.

It's interesting when you actually look at the nominations for each soap:

As the World Turns--15 (6 acting, 8 technical, 1 directing)

The Bold and the Beautiful--7 (1 acting, 4 technical, 1 best show, 1 writing)

Days of Our Lives--5 (5 technical)

General Hospital--10 (5 acting, 3 technical, 1 directing, 1 writing)

Guiding Light--17 (6 acting, 8 techincal, 1 best show, 1 directing, 1 writing)

One Life to Live--10 (3 acting, 5 techinal, 1 best show, 1 directing)

Passions--5 (1 acting, 4 technical)

The Young & the Restless--11 (6 acting, 3 technical, 1 best show, 1 writing)

And by network (just soaps):

ABC: 25 (9 acting, 12 technical, 1 best show, 2 directing, 1 writing)

I don't know why i even look...Every year its the same thing...Days gets no recognition..Some years they don't deserve it..but I really felt KA deserved a nod for the zack's death storyline...But nope...and what a slap in the face for Days, that the guy that plays Jared gets NBC's one token nomination....Whats up with that?

and i just noticed Regis and Kelly didn't get a nomination..is this the first time they've been left out?
