It's a fact of life.

Yes, unfortunately the anniversary opening is still being used. God only knows why.

I think someone said the whole year is being treated as the 70th anniversary of Guiding Light, not just one day. That makes sense to me.

I like the "hands" opening. But I do also miss seeing the actors, and the exciting theme song in the last oepning.

When the hands opening goes away, I hope they keep the poem in whatever openings they use in the future from now on.

I don't care what anyone says, I love ATWT's open from 2000. I just love opening themes that sound as if a band or orchestra composed it compared to the other cheap way soaps are doing it. These days I wonder if Goutman has lost interest in keeping up the look of the show through it's opening. The blue opening is so unflattering compared to the first time I watched it.

I have to wonder, though, just where did that color OLTL fireplace opening come from? It has the SOAPnet bug in the corner...

I was wondering about that SoapNet bugged OLTL, too. I didn't even know a color version of that opening even existed. Other shockers are the color/organ opening for ATWT (didn't know any of those still existed) along with the final 'Somerset' opening (that's an elusive one that no one I know has been able to track down). The Y&R close is from the very 1st episode of the series (I should know because I have it on DVD). The poster did state that he has a lot more material and would be posting another montage, so he cautioned people not to get too upset if he left out a particular favorite. lol

Thanks Matt. I loved GL openings as well as ATWT. Too bad both ATWT and GL's current openings stink! Also loved AMC's opening from 1990-1994. The year after that it sucked!

Well the fireplace OLTL opening lasted from 1968-1975, so it was probably in black and white the first couple years and then in color.

OLTL has always been in color, it's just that very few color versions of OLTL episodes from that era exist (in fact, I didn't know *any* color versions existed. Hell, very few episodes from that era exist *period* let alone color ones).

Well, I'm just stunned that I think, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm almost POSITIVE I saw Deidre Hall's name flash on that Y&R close. But that makes no sense because she's on "Days of Our Lives" and prior to that, portrayed that superhero, either Electra woman or Dyna Girl, or whatever her name was. NEVER did she appear on Y&R -- or did she?!!
