Unfortunately for Erica, we KNOW she wants a relationship with Josh, so that was the absolute stupidest thing she could have said. The obvious response, on Josh's part, would be, "I already knew that, ERICA, because you didn't even want to have me! You tried to ABORT me!!! NEVER talk to me again!"

Yes, but is Babe figuring things out too fast? When I saw her eye the rental equipment and get suspicious, I had to wonder whether it was too soon -- or if McTavish made her too smart. The bottom line is, none of us would EVER expect such a scheme that Josh planted. A faked death? A fake HOSPITAL ROOM? I would never be suspicious, and frankly, I think you'd all agree. Or most would. It's just not something you'd think about. Would I feel weird if family and friends NEVER visited me? yes. But would I think it was because of a big plot? Nope. I think Josh's explanation about maintaining her heart's health is a good one. I wouldn't question it.

I just fear this is rushed.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the preview for tomorrow, the big reveal, but still...

I don't think Babe is figuring this stuff out too soon. She obviously is well enough to clearly think logically. She is coherent, and she feels healthy enough to at least speak to her mother on the phone. If I were her, I'd be questioning WHY Josh is allowed to be a doctor again when he hasn't been practicing since last summer.

But most importantly, Babe should be very suspicious that Krystal, Adam, JR, Amanda - none of her friends/family - have come to visit her, yet Erica came in and questioned that she was alive? That is very suspicious. You know Babe knows that Krystal would be fighting to see her, or Babe would at least be able to see her mom looking at her through a window or hear her voice - or she'd send some kind of letter or note.

I don't buy Josh's explanation that any random sign from her friends and family would create an emotion strong enough to send her heart into cardiac arrest. Especially not after the emotions that Erica created when she barged in and questioned her being alive and saying she is supposed to be dead.

SOOO, basically my point is, Babe is NOT figuring this out too soon. Any smart person should be suspicious by now. Plus what else can you do while sitting in a hospital bed but think and wonder? You're just itching to get out and do something or see someone.

And we always complain about storylines and reveals coming SO slow on soaps...but now people are complaining? C'mon!

:)

Well in the previews - it shows her discovering the truth that she's actually in a fake hospital.

See - Josh and Jeff mostly have created this fake hopistal in the basement of Zach's casino. Her room looks like the PV Hospital rooms. But he has a speaker that plays over her room with hospital sounds, fake calls for doctors to report to certain areas of the hospital, etc. Josh also has this little nurse that looks over Babe. But today Babe saw a Hospital Rental sticker on some of the equipment around her. Tomorrow, it shows her walking out of her room and seeing the speaker, and then a hallway that definitely isn't the hospital.

Well originally I think she was - when Kendall looked over her - but once Kendall and Zach left - and Jeff and Josh took over - they moved her to the basement where they have actually constructed this mock hospital room. It looks pretty identical to the PV hospital rooms, except when anyone walks out, they walk out to parts of the casino. Erica found Babe bc she was looking for Josh and/or Kendall at the casino and got past the guards.

It's actually pretty entertaining/intriguing. Makes me tolerate/enjoy Babe - as she is definitely a victim here, but not a whiny victim. It's interesting. I'm just wondering if Josh has really gone crazy and thinks this is ok to make her family and friends believe she's dead - or if he really is serious about any emotion created could case harm to her body. Is this out of revenge to JR bc he wants Babe all to himself or is he seriously trying to make the best decision for Babe's safety? Josh really seems like a classic villian in this storyline though. Reminds me of the whole Dr. Kinder/Skye thing back in the 90's.

Also the Alex/Kendall stuff sorta reminds me of old 90's AMC too - a little bit of Wildwind darkness (thanks to Alex) - and a dash of Budapest mystery. AMC really reminds me of the mid-90's right now, except the look of it all reminds me of DAYS.

    • I really do wish someone could. Just a few characters in very simple backdrops, with very real problems that are just a little larger than life, like the '50s and '60s. All the characters having a level of dignity or respect. And their inner lives are what dominate the story, even if there are outside forces at play.
    • It's a lesson to never be loyal because once your use is up, you're shown the door. MSW was the only bright spot for CBS for awhile, and once they were back on top... they promptly sabotaged the show as a repayment for all that the show had done for the network.
    • The show made a mistake in not bringing in more McKinnon kids, specifically bringing back Ben. Kathleen was leaving, and while I like you am very fond of Sally Spencer as MJ, that didn't seem to be a common view. They also decimated the character in a truly sick storyline. So that just left Cheryl.
    • Between Gwen and Cat, the show often seems to side with those who cause lots of cruelty to Jack and Jennifer. I am half-surprised that the show hasn't brought Peter Blake back for more of the same.  I don't really know if there is a purpose for them in Salem now, but I do feel a sense of stability and rightness when Melissa Reeves is back in the role of Jennifer and back in the Horton house, in spite of...well, a lot of offcamera stuff we all know perfectly well.
    • I like to call her an FC-reject character

    • I’m sensing you’re not really a John Black fan from your posts. This has been some of the best soap Days has done in many years but you seem completely opposed to it lol.
    • The John Black character has been a part of my life for decades. I like heroes being honored, however imperfect they may be.  I'm glad they are giving him a long farewell and tribute.
    • Annie Dutton was anything, but sane when she was introduced.  She was very tortured and looked like she was on the verge of tears when she was first introduced.   While people, and writers, made it seem as though Annie lost her mind because of Josh.. I truly think that Annie had a lot of untreated mental issues that didn't manifest until her marriage to Josh. Sonni was also anything, but strong when she was first introduced either.   Claire in 1983 was a complete 180 from the Claire that we got in 1986... and I do agree that her character was degraded.
    • I remember seeing him briefly when Rick went to confront her about her blackmailing him. (I briefly forgot that Rick's sleeping with Claire at this time was a retcon - or her lying that she slept with him, whatever that story was). I wonder if he interacted with Kurt given that Mark Lewis later took his ATWT role. I tried to watch some of the full episode and it was all so alien and uninvolving. Roxy having a meltdown on that construction site for Mindy and Kurt's house that never gets built. Ed with Ross and Vanessa dealing with custody issues. Even Ross and Vanessa seemed flat, with Vanessa seeming oddly meek.
    • She did. It was during a party at Amanda's. She didn't literally throw herself at him, but she was subtly coming on to him and he quickly shut her down. Yes, I remember she not only made a pass at Justin, she convinced Jackie that he was harassing her sexually. She also tried to convince Sara that he was pestering her. Everyone banged Josh back then, LOL. Whoa. I must have missed a good chunk of this first time around because I don't remember Reva going to India.  What I recall is Harley being a nanny to the kids and then Reva driving off the bridge. Then they kind of toyed with the idea of Josh and Harley getting together but I don't think that ever happened. Yes, that all happens but I don't recall the tumor. Maybe that's coming up soon with the videos being uploaded to Spauldingfield. The last one I watched, she was planning to vamp Kyle while taking care of the pregnant Maeve.
