You go, girl, with the fuschia and the buttons straining against your cleavage and the kick-ass pose. Y&R don't know what they've lost!

Hello, my name is Sharon and I need to fire my stylist for not finishing the color process on my hair. Oh, and for not cutting it. Because now I look like Jewel.

101_04.jpg

Jerry Douglas popped in after a day on the golf course.

LOL, I love how MS is doing her best Bewitched impression with her nose.

101_07.jpg

Ugh. Newbies. And go get a haircut, Toilet-Brush.

101_08.jpg

Oh, yes, please DO pose again and again and again for us, Amber. It's not like you're not filling up airtime as it is. Plus it gives me another chance to laugh at your summer camisole/furry snow boots outfit.

This is Mr. Melody Thomas Scott, apparantly -- Ed the EP.

RRWAOL. So stern. So schoolmasterish. So Swoop. Swoon.

Barbara Bloom, Head of CBS Daytime.

101_12.jpg

Who's this? Steven Kent, Sony TV spokeswhore. Whatever.

101_13.jpg

Lynn Marie Latham, who writes for a show called GeNots City Landing.

101_14.jpg

Awww.

101_15.jpg

Oh, here she is again. Wow, that sucking you're doing on your finger is way sexy. Reminds me of Dr. Evil doing that pinkie thing in Austin Powers.

101_16.jpg

Damn, Colleen looks about 20 years older than Korbel. Still love Adrienne Leon, though.

101_17.jpg

MS makes me want to sort of hug her in every pic. Woah -- work those boobs, Tracey.

101_18.jpg

No. WORDS. Except: *that* shirt makes me want to break out into a chorus of "I am what I am."

101_19.jpg

Quick! Mount him!

101_20.jpg

Where did JC's arm go?

I think I just got an idea for the next Y&R SL featuring our new Male Lead, Don Diamont. Brad... David... brothers? Cue scene where they thigh-wrestle each other. That's how they know they are brothers, see. Because of their powerful killing thighs.

101_22.jpg

What's a Johnson?

101_24.jpg

101_25.jpg

Lee Phillip Bell (co-creator of Y&R) and MTS.

One can never have too many diamante headbands and leopard print, no?

LOL, I saw Lee Philip Bell and thought it was Susan Flannery for a moment. Then I saw that poodle she's carrying and thought "Zapato's chew-toy?"

101_23.jpg

The cast. Where's VictuhNooman?

Victoria Rowell kinda standing aways to one side. Just sayin'.

CLB about to play "Giddyup!" with the dude who plays Kane. Seriously!

Christian, Christian - what were you thinking!? Why is Michelle Stafford doing crazy - REALLY scrary - looks in ever picture???

To Sharon Case: Honey, I'm not a violent person but in exchange - for let's say a kiss - I'll beat that hairdresser up for you. Just drop me a line...

BTW: Not only Mr. Mumbles is suspiciously missing from this cast gathering. Actually everyone who kept Y&R on top for 18 years is missing: No Eric Braeden, no Jess Walton but StupidAustralianSonImport (Will the insanity never end!?), no Jeanne Cooper - only Peter Bergman was there. These were IMO the pillars of Y&R in the last 2 decades and beyond. Mostly newbies are pictured - plus JeffreyDud some other stinkers which have overstayed their welcome by a long time. (Talking 'bout you FauxVictoria & Will Stiffwell!) And Cat, I still have a soft spot for Miss Ambrosia, but the kind of writing on Y&R is pissing me off, too.

Any word why Jerry Douglas was there? Yet another dreadful ghost sighting to come, please not!

LOL, Cheap. Not this week, though -- Y&R hit something like 4.6 in HH. There's no way LML can be fired after a showing like that.

sheilaforever, I wondered about Jess Walton and Jeanne Cooper, too. Doesn't seem fair that JC (on Y&R since 1976), JW (since 1987) and EB (since 1980) -- and all major, frontburner actors -- not partake of a little cake.

And if Jerry Douglas was invited, why not Eileen Davidson? After all, she's going to B&B, another CBS/Bell soap.

Ugh, don't get me started about JT. Mind you, at least TL has been on the show a good 6-8 years. The dude who plays Kane looks nice and is clearly popular with his co-stars, but a front row position in the cast photo? Dude's only been on for, like, 2 weeks!

Also re: Michelle Stafford's "crazy" faces, I don't mean to be casting aspertions on the great MS and I'm only assuming her but... sometimes when you can't wrinkle your forehead like that, it means you've been seeing Dr. Botox.

    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
    • Hahaha. Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.
    • My hunch is what you've described. JFP is likely back working on transitioning the show to a new studio and embracing new technology for its production model.
