Man I wish you were right...but I doubt it...unless Cady is willing to write in her blog and fool all her fans...that's almost a slap to the fans as well if she were lying to us the whole time. If she really ended up not dead and this is all a trick, then I'd think Cady would just be quiet and not lie so bad to the fans.

Anyway this is sad :( I'm watching and thinking "Why couldn't DEL have died?" Why is DEL still alive and Dixie is dead?

:(

Love seeing Father Clarence with Julia though - nice to see him again unexpectedly.

My GOD!

Those were great flashbacks...and thank you AMC for at least giving us LOTS of flashbacks! I'm tearing up over here!

My favorite Dixie/JR scene from way back in the 90's was that one they just played when Junior was at the school play and Dixie got up and started singing his part and he started singing too.

See, Dixie was a great mom and a great wife and WHY did they just have to kill her off right when she was back to the character we all loved, and my favorite female character of the 90's????

Ugh and now I have to leave to go to class just as I'm tearing up :( I'll have to watch the rest later tonight....*sigh*

Dixie can't even DIE without that gaping macaw getting special attention. Not a minute after Dixie is declared dead the attention is turned towards Babe AGAIN.

This show can go [!@#$%^&*] itself.

Oh good lord, why can't we use curse words? Is SON populated by children?

    • I assume in name only?  One Stormy Night wasn't exactly steamy.  If it's a literal throwback then Stephanie's writing about sexy times her own Uncle was having lol. Since I am going to surmise it's just a throwback to the name, Night Sins and Winter Heat both sound sexier.  Just saying.  I swear Jamey (and Ron) just google things and land on the first thing they like and decide it's a good throwback to history without watching it.
    • I usually don't want Tide placement in the middle of an intense sad scene, but this is an interesting point

    • Thanks!   Was anyone watching during this time? Wondering how Peggy’s rape played out onscreen. It just seems cruel to subject the Brooks family to this trauma a 2nd time.   Feels like the writers have already given up on the character of Jennifer, even though she sticks around another year-plus. She should be a passionate and fierce protective mother, but instead she seems just reactionary (and not even mentioned in this recap) This was also the case in ‘73 when Chris was raped. The writers are definitely more invested Stuart as the Brooks parent.
    • BTG got another SNL reference at 00:50  CONTEXT (so it isn't misconstrued) in this joke swap segment, Michael Che frequently makes his white cohost Colin Jost read racist jokes written by Che.

    • It's obvious that Israel's presence is a major divisive issue, and this is something that the EBU needs to deal with. According to the now published results Israel got 13 out of a possible 19 max points in the semi-final, and while their song isn't bad there's no way they would get those numbers without some kind of manipulation/political voting. They are clearly using this contest as a way of improving their somewhat tarnished reputation. I know that some people are comparing this to the massive sympathy votes that Ukraine gets and which propelled them to victory in 2022, but I feel that that was a more genuine show of support than this concerted effort from Israel to influence the televoting. I even had an ad on Youtube from Israel in Swedish(!) asking for votes! It might not be against any rules, but it feels a bit icky nonetheless.
    • Yeah, as you wrote, an Israeli win would have been a political disaster. Congratulations to Austria. 0 points from the televoting to Switzerland was a disgrace. Other than that, I really enjoyed the show ... but I'm also glad that Eurovision season is over

    • Hahaha Sorry if I was too negative, I just started typing and typing once I got going hahaha
    • @dc11786 Thanks for taking time to answer my various questions, along with giving your thoughts on the different writing teams. I wonder why they didn't just have Ryder and TR leave together if Jane was going anyway. The discussions over the last few pages have made me more interested in watching these episodes than I have been over the years - without the extra details and analyses provided, these years can be difficult to decipher (not helped by how often Jo seems like a side character).
