If it's three I'll put Chris in there because hopefully Phil's fanbase will save him. He was good tonight. I like what Simon said to him. He is very well liked around and a fine young man. Not to say the others aren't, it's just he appeals to me. Jordin had it all, talent, beauty, poise, feelings and originality. It's her youth and originality that puts her above Melinda, in my view. Melinda is perfect, but Jordin takes it to the next level. With four hours of voting tonight, it will be early morning here before Dial Idol has a final score. Members KLN Posted April 25, 2007 Members Share Posted April 25, 2007 Jordin and Melinda were K-I-C-K-A-S-S tonight. I love them both! Jordin reminds me of a young J-Lo. She has the look, the poise, and she certainly has the vocals. The total package. Melinda, on the other hand, just seems so genuine and not full of herself in the least. I just want to go up and give her a big hug because she seems like such a sweetheart. Sometimes when she sings a really high note, she'll get this strange super-fast wooden vibratto thing that sounds sort of goat-ish, but I can tell she's working on it. She's been the most consistent, but Jordin's really swinging herself into the top position for the win now. I love Melinda, but I think Jordin has the edge. Melinda rocked the country week... do you think she could be a successful black country artist? I think it could work. The rest of the performances tonight were very "meh." NO "Idol" for me!!! :( I HOPE I can find the performances/critiques on YouTube. This is killing me not knowing! And I can't believe I missed today's, of all of them, because wasn't it the kick-off for "Idol gives back"?!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'm crazy in love with that concept. I have to say those spoiler were right on but I hated the look of a taped show. Glad we don't get it every week. I did like the theme. It's a good one and I know they did it for the event but I still liked it and would want to see it regardless. I heard Bono mentioned as a special mentor and was wondering why we didn't see him but I guess with the images of the judges helping out and all there wasn't time. Oh well, on to the performances: Chris: Better then last week. Good song choice. Not as good as the judges made him out to be but still not bad. Melinda: Great. Not her best but still miles above most. She looked great, great song choice (I like this song, I beleive Faith sang it after 9/11), and I like that she isn't acting shocked anymore. I love her with longer hair too. Blake: Simon was right on. It's weird because it's a good song and a good choice for him but there isn't much to do with it so you run the risk of being boring or underwhelming unless you throw different things in and he was afraid to most likely because in the past the judges panned him for changing the melody and so on. It was ok. Kind of bland and nothing special. He may be vulnerable tomarrow. He has fallen off a bit and with only 6 left and Phil doing well... Lakisha: Oh, how the mighty have fallen. STOP PICKING FORMER IDOL WINNERS' SONGS!!! First, she butchered Carrie and now Fantasia (is that even possible with a Fantasia song?). Much like last week, she started out ok and then just rushes her vocals and tried to keep up with the song and melody. The song ate her up and I know she is better then that. It's not too big for her but she made it out to be. She is in loads of dancer tomarrow because that was bad. Really bad. Phil: Pretty good. He has always had good vocals but he would start off bad and only be good in chorus. Now he is just clicking all the way through and he just needs to stick in country, like Simon said. Blake and Chris need to worry because Phil is stealing their votes as they go backwards and he goes forward. Good job by him. Good song choice. Jordin: Good song choice, looked gorgeous, like Melinda she took her time and conveyed emotion, took risks vocally...BRILLIANCE. You are looking at the front runner and likely winner of American Idol 2007. Amazing. My bottom 3 is Blake, Chris, and Lakisha with Lakisha going but I am thinking maybe she will get spared and Chris will go. We'll see. It's crazy. If you are interested at all, here is what is up now. Jordin 25.227 and the only one shown as safe Phil 21.576 shown as 2-6 LaKisha 20.652 shown as 2-6 Blake 20.543 shown as 2-6 Melinda 20.109 shown as 2-6 Chris 18.098 shown as 2-6 Can you believe that? At least I'm happy that Jordin is safe, but I've seen the one holding Phil's spot at Dial Idol still get in the bottom three, so it's anyone's guess for tonight. On one hand, it will get people out to vote for her and could dement te finale showdown but that worries me on another hand because Jordin may be winning some of her fans over since the last two weeks it seems Jordin is gaining a ton of momentum and rightfully so. I really think Phil is swaying voters away from Blake too. Chris going home is ok by me because, watching Lakisha's performance again, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Not good but not horrible. I just hate seeing Melinda that far down. Blake and Phil were no way better then her. I know singers in the beginning of the show usually have to do very well to get fans to remember them but Melinda did great so I don't get that unless Jordin has swayed more voters to her side. It could also be that the voting time was doubled. We'll see tonight. All I know is Melinda better not go home!! Melinda: Great Vocals but I always forget about her sometimes. Blake: It was just so blah too me. His mouth distracted me during the song. LaKisha: I thought it was good compared to last week. I thought she blew Mantasia out of the water with the song. Phil: I like him but I HATE HATE HATE Garth Brooks. Jordin: By far the best of the night. That means Melinda is leaving. No one but Melinda would be more shocking than Chris leaving last season IMO. Blake is no Chris Daughtery - so it has to be Melinda.
