My top three: Blake, Jordin and Sanjaya.

My bottom three: Haley, Phil and LaKisha

It's looking like Haley or LaKisha will go by the early polls.

I can't believe that Chris R is in the bottom tiers of the online polls. I liked him tonight.

Melinda was a disappointment for the first time. I thought her pitch was too high, she showed how uncomfortable she wass in trying to be sexy a teeny tiny bit.

LaKisha was a trainwreck as I was afraid of.

Haley made no bones about using her body and as Simon pointed out, girl gotta sing, body won't do it. It was a horrible choice of song for her and that outfit was totally out of the ball park. Haley has a perfect quality to make wonderful latin sounds. She really, really needs a voice coach to bring it out and train her to use that, help her chose music and moves.

Also, I did not like Phil at all. He surely didn't make me have goosebumps. I didn't care for the song or his delivery, but apparently a lot of folks did as he is at the top of one poll and near the top in the other. I think he and his wife are a precious, loving looking couple. Maybe the Christian conservatives and southern folks are voting for "them". I've seen this happen in contest before, when the audience falls in love with the couple when one is the contestant. Really sweet.

ATTN GINA GLOCKSEN FANS:

I got the new TV Guide today and there is a paragraph about Gina Glocksen. She says that she is moving from Chicago to LA and begin an all girl band similar to the Go-Go's.

She's going to come out of the AI experience with a great future, I think.

The latin night wasn't boring but it sure did disappoint. Kudos to Jennifer for actually giving out advice and helping as opposed to the guests the past two weeks. I loved when Jennifer asked Blake to come out to give Haley a beat  . I also liked Simon calling out Haley tonight. It's about time. Paula acted out of it tonight, especially when she was negative to Lakisha. I was stunned. I also think Simon trashed Melinda a bit because he felt he needed to. Afterall, she is sailing through all this. Here is my breif rundown:

Melinda: Ok. It was her worst performance but that says alot because this would be great for most. The ending was superb but the rest was awkward and it felt like she had trouble tapping into the emotion of the song like she usually does. Still a solid performance. She is safe without a doubt.

Lakisha: I like her going out into the audience and it wasn't horrible. The outfit was bad and her vocal was all over the place in some places. Unfortunately, she landed in the dreaded two position and you need to be fantastic to avoid being in the bottom or eliminated if you are here. I am worried about her because her performance wasn't anything special and I still think she is going to be the big shock elimination this year. I have said that since day one and I think it will happen any week now.

Chris R: I liked it. He got away from Timberlake again and it was refreshing. Contemporary and modern and very hot. His vocal wasn't superb but the performance was good enough to overcome it. I am worried about him to though because alot of the songs with this theme run together and some may find him forgettable outside of his fanbase.

Haley: UGH!!! LEAVE NOW!! Simon was so right to call her out. I used to like her but she annoys me. The outfits are awful and her vocals grate on my ears. Time is up for her and I do expect her at least in the bottom tomarrow. At least her and the judges were civil for once.

Phil: Awful. His vocals in the chorus, which are usually his strength, even sucked this week. Yes, it was voice strain but I am also remembering his past performances and even his lower register tonight was bad. It just sounded out of tune all the way and it was very artificial, which many of the singers were tonight which is probably due to this latin theme. I do think he will be safe though because I am clearly in the minority on him this week.

Jordin: Very good. Showed her range yet again and I don't see this as safe at all. Her personality is always showing and this performance was young, fresh, and all around good. Solid job. I would think she is safe but who knows.

Blake: Best song choice of the night and best performance of the night. Made it his own a bit and threw in his Blake-isms and it was fantastic. Safe by a mile.

Sanjaya: It pains me...but I am going to be nice and say he was just bad tonight. Beleive me, that is good coming from me. I am not as high on him as others. First off, he sang a song no one could relate to unless they were bi-lingual and, secondly, his vocals were a mess when the lyrics weren't in Spanish. It's good for him I guess but I would still send him home if it were my chouce because it's long overdue. It would be ironic if the one week he improves he goes home. I expect him safe simply because, for his fans, it doesn't matter how bad or good he is it seems.

My bottom three would be Haley, Phil, and Sanjaya.

The actual bottom 3 will probably be Haley, Lakisha, and maybe Chris R. If Jordin is there (like dialidol is saying) and if the AOL poll is a reflection of some things that happen tomarrow, I am going to raise holy hell tomarrow and make it my personal mission to pick off Haley, Sanjaya, and Phil one by one. I will organize a voting union every Tuesday to vote until my fingers hurt if that is what it takes

LOL, when you are against millions of votes, a paltry few hundred thousands even don't stand a chance to throw the show. I think Sanjaya is good and getting a short end by a lot of viewers. He is entertainer personified and can carry a tune which many others have extreme difficulty doing. I love his personality and spirit, too.

Both polls now have LaKisha last. Short of a miracle, she will go and I think it's time for her. She has fallen each week instead of growing.

I don't get the unlove for Jordin. She is great in my ears and eyes. I also don't get the love for Phil and Haley as they are doing fine in the polls.

Poor Chris R. He is better than that.

Since the west including Hawaii vote last, I don't see a reprieve for LaKisha unless Hawaii loves her.

I just checked AOL and this is what is showing from the bottom up:

8th Chris

7th LaKisha

6th Phil

I think Hawaii voted LaKisha up. She is still deadlast at Dial Idol which has been 100% wrong to date LOL.

Update of AOL poll at 4:00 a.m.

8th LaKisha

7th Chris

6th Phil

I'm beginning to think Sanjaya and Haley are going to end up in the #1 and #2 spot in the finals. And I wish I was being sarcastic, but with the crazy way people are voting this year it could happen. Personally, I want Jordin to win. I love her!

I actually thought LaKisha was great. Vocally, it wasn't the best but it was nice to see her leave her normal type of songs. I hope she at least lasts one more week. Country Week will be her downfall.

I thought Hayle & Chris were the worst of the night. Chris vocals suck big time and Hayle is so blah and forgettable.

My Rankings of lastnight:

1. LaKisha

2. Melinda

3. Blake

4. Jordin

5. Sanjaya

6. Phil

7. Chris

8. Hayle

Oh and JLO :D Love her.

I don't think dialidol has been 100% wrong. I thought they had it right at least one week. I could be wrong. I still trust it more then the AOL poll, which can be inaccurate as people can vote unlimited numbers of times without interuption and there are some issues with tha. At least with diaidol you are seeing the phone lines, which are more accurate as people have to deal with busy phone lines and so on so there is some element on control. You don't get the text numbers and it seems to me there are alot of text votes this year, which is accounting for the dialidol in accuracies. They were right on last year and the year before so it's weird this year to see how wrong they have been.

I have been saying all along Lakisha is gone before the top 5. That is the big shock and I have a feeling I may see that prediction come true tonight. Having said that, I am not too upset with that bottom3 except I feel Chris shouldn'tt be there but as long as he doesn't go I am ok. If he goes, I am angry. The one good thing about Lakisha going is that she will get people from other fanbases to open their eyes and realize they need to vote alot to keep the people that should be there in the competition. I like Lakisha but she has fallen off. Having said that, I still think she would go before the top 5 even if she was just as good as when she started because she doesn't have the same likeability as Jordin and Melinda.

I will be escactic if Phil goes though. That is long overdue and at least we will have one of the trio gone.

I am getting really excited about the results show tonight. If LaKisha isn't in the bottom three, then I can relax, but if she is then I will be on pins and needles until either Ryan says she is safe or the one going home is announced.

Doesn't Dial Idol just count the calls that go through it's software? That's what I thought. I don't know that tapping phone lines is legal, so they can't be monitoring the actual vote lines. So, if that is true and in that respect, it's generally the same as AOL poll as whoever calls can call whenever and how many times they chose to, but of course they will be met with busy signals due to the number calling at the same time. That is why the busy signals are counted, assuming that those receiving the heavier traffic will give off the most busy signals.

Phew... I am glad that Jordin wasn't in the bottom 3 as was predicted. I'm going to go all out and start voting LOL... I do not want a repeat of Chris Daughtry this season. I think Jordin is the best to be a winner for this.

I Don't feel bad for Hayley, she made it much farther than I initially thought she would and she should be proud of herself.

    • I know! It's like second verse, here we go again!  Agreed. Certainly there was concern maybe even fear at the highest levels for the very good reason that what they had was so economically successful, so of course this risk was scary but if anyone was brave she was. Yes, he was. I have seen her associated with getting it on the air one other place but no details nor official title. Not the writer or creator so it made me wonder if she functioned as a kind of uncredited ad hoc producer, but then maybe she just supported it. At any rate that is nothing but supposition on my part. No data! Yes, not a surprise anymore but still so frustrating! On one hand I am appreciative that she is included in this book, but scholarship where are you?!
    • that wasnt her point. She wanted to further demonize Ted; that was the main focus of their talk. She wants to ensure that Nicole leaves him so that he's free and single to be with her. At this point, I dont think she really cares what Nicole thinks of her; she just wants her out of the way Eva is Nicole's stepdaughter and is a Dupree by association. If Nicole takes Ted back then its reasonable that she would accept his daughter and i that happens, Eva will have welcomed to their country club, be invited to their parties, have access to their resources, etc....much like Andre whom also isnt a blood Dupree but is accepted by them via Nicole. Eva got what she got from Anita bc of Hayley. I think its important to remember that context bc they just dealt with an interloper that infiltrated their ranks and hurt her daughter in the worse way. Now you have another unfortunate girl positioned to do the same to her other daughter. The feelings are still too fresh and she doesnt want Eva to get the idea that she would ever be allowed the opportunity to play them again
    • Oh I've seem this! That's part of why I'm curious! The show could put EastEnders to shame on the gangster Aspect! Oh I've seem this! That's part of why I'm curious! The show could put EastEnders to shame on the gangster Aspect!
    • Eve was one of those characters that had the "Jessie Brewer"role. They had heavy storyline, they burned through it and now they are there for support and a touchstone in the community (Marland wanted to give Jessie story, but I agree with Monty...she best served in her connecting role, and keeping that damn Amy Vining busy so she keeps her nose out of things) So charcters are important and why they should have kept characters like Bridget around (even as she is more volatiles then Eve) who didnt need a big storyline but could have been behind the bar making connections and expostion, but Rauch wanted JEVA/JEVA/JEVA and DRAMA (which to him meant a lot of yelling and stupidity.)
    • Why do I feel like (or remember possible

    • A number of errors in the above article. You wonder how with all that research, how  they slipped through. I think they are conflating Women Alone with Lonely Women. I have never read anything of a serial called Women Alone. However,I am prepared to be proven wrong.   It seems Irna actually WAS interested in TV soaps as witnessed by These Are My Children airing in 1949 on NBC in the early days of TV.   I don't believe that was reluctance, rather simply good business sense as radio's dominance began to wane.   Inferring that was somehow connected to Irna who was off that show 10 years prior.   Again inferring that Phillips leaving 6 years prior had some connection to the eventual cancellation.     Again these two events are in fact one. Irna left ATWT only once in 1970 and returned in 72. She was not working on another P&G show at the time. So either she brought the ratings up or they dipped, depending on which above account you believe   Untrue. A World Apart debuted 5 years after she left AW. And AWA aired longer than a few months. Over a year in fact.   I believe Orin Tovrov was the writer. Irna was not involved in the creation of this show. And no mention of Masquerade an Irna serial  which was on air around this time.   TBD finished in 1962. As we see over and over, these inaccuracies are published and accepted as fact.
    • YES! While I objectively found the writing on RH (particularly during its first few years and then again in its final days) to be excellent, so many of the principle characters were unpleasant, and totally turned me off. I could never settle down and become emotionally involved with a group of people who grated on my nerves.
    • Ugh now we get a Emmerdale and Corrie crossover soon. ugh.. How desperate
    • This show is definitely not one to deserve the axe.  especially the New Year’s Eve episode was crazy wild! there is a place where u can download nearly all episodes from October 2019 til today. But they don’t accept new people. https://youtu.be/aD-IXEJjymU?si=19wtpwthSNYOe-4y   this is from this years winter break when the returned. I loved it
