Ok first, Jonathan needs to STFU and leave my Amanda alone!

I thought that was pretty funny when Erica came to the hospital, and once she found out Kendall was ok - you could totally tell she sorta hoped Babe was attacked and/or killed. haha

Anyway, I'm loving the Kendall/JR scenes so far - I've always enjoyed their friendship (not romance relationship) - so I'm hoping maybe this is legit and they can become friends again...we'll have to wait and see.

I'm enjoying the Babe/Zarf scenes so far - mainly bc I feel so bad for Zarf thanks to Jeffrey's amazing acting ability in this role. You can tell he's very upset and doesn't want the truth that the vial has estrogen stuff in them to come out.

The Zach/Tad/Ryan scenes are annoying so far - I just don't like these 3 guys together when they are fighting or trying to figure out a mystery...I dont know - I just don't enjoy them that much.

JR is looking smoking hot today! I like his and Kendall's relationship and miss it. I hope they can build a friendship again.

I liked the scenes with Zarf and Babe today.

That was all I was able to watch because we lost power.

JR was looking all kinds of hot, frumpled hair and all!! YUM!!!

Also I think they dropped the ball with a JR/Kendall (Jendall) pairing years ago!! They were smoking the scenes they had which were hot sex. And they are even hotter today....Why don't I back up over there. LOL!!!!

Yes - I'm LOVING the Kendall/JR scenes today - I can't believe how much I missed their flirty friendly relationship.

Kendall is being such a b.itch, but a LIKEABLE b.itch. Alicia is totally winning me over today, not that she hasn't already years ago. And of course Jacob looks hot as ever ;)

Kendall, STFU! I hate this b.i.t.c.h. with a passion! I feel for Zarf/Zoe because he really has no one on his side but Babe. Erica has me ROTFLMAO. She was hoping that it was Babe that had been attacked and I'm right there with her. Josh is an obsessed stalker. I wish he would get his balls out of Babe's purse and man up.

Um ok - HOT HOT HOT!

JR: "Oh come on Kendall. We can work together again...you know, like when you used to do me...and I used to do you. Mutual gratification ;)"

Man I've really missed these two working together - I hope we see lots more....

GROSS! I knew it had to be Jeff that took Erica. Now they are kissing - and it looked JUST like the scene on DH last night.

Great cliffhangers today!

MAGGIE :) Can't wait to see her with Bianca tomorrow.

Loved seeing Lily for once...I actually miss her...and her scenes with Jonathan should be good tomorrow - "The bad Jonathan is back."

Even that ending with Josh finding Babe and Zarf in the tunnels with JR and Kendall looking on...I can't believe he'll admit to murder to save himself embarrassment from the world finding out he's turning himself into a woman!

Dang it, I know it's wrong but I...love...JR...and...Kendall (as friends, as dysfunctional, snarky friends)! But he almost killed her and her baby however accidentally (meaning he wanted to really kill Babe) and his remorse quotient is iffy at best (yet better than Babe's who takes revenge stock in company as her gifts for being a vile bitch). Anyways, I enjoyed the JR/Kendall scenes a lot, their's that nice, familiar "umph" to their interactions. Uh-oh, Kendall said deal...I'm hopeful there'll be no real follow through though - they need to slowly, slowly progress with that whole "reunion" thing.

The Zarf/Babe scenes are well acted, particuarly by him and they have a nice chemistry, but they both irritate me. Loved the cheerleader line though. But the whole "They all judge me. They'll all judge me. Wah, Wah." What are you doing Mrs. Judgemental Transgender Universe? And the drama queen confessions of murder are as irritating and non-helpful as when Zach did it back in 2005, woman-up already!

That last Jonathan and Lily scene was tight. "You're the old Jonathan again." Foretelling?

Jeff and Erica. Eww. Really eww. Erica, gosh!

LOL at Erica's little glimmer of hope when she thought Babe had met her maker. Bad Ms. Kane, bad, lol.

Agreed. And I am growing rather weary of hearing the names Zarf and zoe. I am on overload.

And it's not just the bad dialogue from a "professional" writer who fancies themselves Noel Coward. I feel that theater thang from Jeff too much in the most highly dramatic scenes. I am weary of his "crying voice," whimpering and simpering. Grow a pair, and by pair I mean breasts or ovaries...whatever.

I know it's nuts, but Zarf/Zoe really keeps reminding me of Frasier Crane at his most pathetic and simulataneously arrogant, working that erudite learned accent, Ac-TOResque presentation, and over-dramatisizing of everything. I know people like Jeffrey Carlson a lot, and he is a talented actor, but in this role, with this story and with McT's dialogue, it's too much for me to enjoy on a daily basis.

Since it's McT's mantra, "soul attraction" and then from Babe's own lips today, "love is love" and "it doesn't matter what the sets of body parts are"(paraphrasing)...then Babe and Zarf/Zoe should be very happy together and I hope they are. Oh...wait, that won't happen cause Babe's straight and her orientation isn't like that...only lesbians/gays.

The shouting match between Tad, Zach and Ryan...oh god, how headache-inducing. I left the room at one point because I couldn't listen to it anymore. I think the show's done a good job of presenting the urgency of the situation...today I felt these scenes were just overdoing it...or maybe it's a cumulative thang over a few shows. That may actually be poor direction than anything else.

Erica was funny. Colin needs to work on his Erica snark, imo...it comes off cruel more often than just Kendall-esque. Colin's improved a lot but has some difficulty moderating his tone from emotion to emtion. Like he's on FULL POWER!!! most all the time (the best of example of when he's not is certain scenes with his sisters).

I want to like JR and Kendall's friendship so much and I did enjoy seeing them in scenes today...seemed like a nice break from the SK story. But I have never gotten a sexual chemistry between them. Not in the way JY plays it with Kendall, more pathetic and pervy, horn dog, frat boy mentality...not as sophisticated about it as i wish he was.

Then there's the whole Kendall forgiving him (even if for insta-unaborted-brother), only 7 monthish after he almost snuffed out not only her life...but Spike's? To help her brother hook up with Babe? No sale!

The Kanes are still McTZombies.

Well, ole Mags didn't let us down...all that time in Paris has done nothing for her "flair" for fashion. I just think Maggie looks like a little kid with Bianca who's come along more as a mature woman (and that may just be how the actor's have grown-up over time). Give The Cheater HELL Bianca and kick her back across the Atlantic to a some curb in Paris.

There's a lot of viable suspects but the tie-in with Zach's past still seems to be the really difficult part. But couldn't they just explain that away as someone investigating it to frame Zach for current PV misdeeds.

    • A very rare, fascinating look at camera blocking in a 1980 episode. Very loose, almost startlingly so (who expects to see Will Vernon with a cig dangling out of his mouth?). @vetsoapfan There's some Jacquie Courtney content in the back half of the video.

    • 1976 Pt 5 Joanne’s hopes are raised when Jack seems to respond to the new woman she’s become. She wore a new dress and had a lovely dinner with wine, and when Jack drank more than he was used to having, he reached for her. Her happiness is dimmed when he calls her Peggy, but she says nothing. The next morning, when Jack can remember nothing, she tells him they made love. When Peggy later tells Joanne she’s going to have to stop helping her make herself over as it’s becoming too painful, Joanne angrily lashes back that Peggy might just as well back off, because Jack made love to her last night. Peggy, angry and hurt, asks Jack if it’s true. Realizing that Joanne told Peggy to hurt her, he tells Peg he’s going to ask Joanne for a divorce now. But Peggy is still guilt-ridden over Joanne and, fearing she can’t handle it yet, tells Jack about Joanne’s suicide attempt. Jack, horrified, goes home to see Joanne, who soon realizes that Peggy must have told him about the pills. She assures Jack that she knows life is too precious to ever do that again. Once Jack is satisfied that she really means it, he returns to us Peggy. But Peggy is close to breaking from the guilt and tension she’s living with, and tells Jack that if he’s ever free, they can decide then. Needing a fresh perspective, Peggy takes Chris up on her offer that Peggy spend the night with her, as Snapper won’t be home.  Chris, meanwhile, has been spending her free time preparing Nancy’s apartment for her homecoming. Expressing appreciation for everything she’s done, Ron has offered to make her a table similar to one he’s made for Nancy. Chris has thanked him and has given him her address so he can deliver it. Stuart, wondering why Ron can’t seem to get another job despite the leads he’s been given, checks him out and learns he was in prison for burglary but there was also’ a rape charge, which was dropped. Chris asks Nancy, who explains that before their marriage Ron picked up a woman in a bar. She took him to her apartment and began to seduce him but then screamed rape. He had taken nothing, Nancy adds, but was told he’d rot in prison if he didn’t plead guilty to burglary. No one  told him that the woman had declined to testify. Nancy was the only one who believed him, and she with him against her family’s wishes. Ron walks in at the end of the conversation and informs Chris that he tried to deliver her table but  finally realized he was looking for the wrong address. When Chris later returns to her apartment, she finds Peggy whimpering on the floor in the dark. Slowly Chris gets the story from Peg: The lights wouldn’t -work when she arrived, and she was grabbed from behind, thrown to the floor, and raped. Chris convinces Peggy that the police must be called and manages to protect Peggy from brutal questioning by insisting upon an officer trained in dealing with rape victims. After Peggy is taken to the hospital, the investigator, Miss Weston, asks Chris who might have  known Peg was there—or might want to rape Chris herself. After thinking this over, Chris tells her about Ron. Jack has been trying to reach Peggy. Lashing out from his own pain, Stuart brutally tells him that she’s been raped and he is partially to blame, as she went to Chris’s to get away from her problem—him. Jack is shattered. Instinctively knowing that Ron is guilty, Chris confronts him. But Ron sticks to his story of looking for a wrong address and, under pressure from Chris, finally offers to be in a lineup. Brock tells his mother that Jill wants to visit Phillip’s grave. Kay replies it will be “a cold day in hell” before. She does. But when Jill asks Kay if she would put some flowers on the grave for her and her baby, Kay, touched, breaks down and asks Jill to go with her. Liz, knowing that Kay spends too much time alone, virtually forces her to accept an invitation for dinner and then invites Ralph Olsen, a plumber who is a widower. Kay is aloof at first -they apparently have nothing in common—but when Ralph turns out to be a former alcoholic, the ice is broken. Ralph offers to help Kay with her drinking problem, and she soon finds she likes him very much. Liz becomes concerned with Kay’s assumption that her friendship with Ralph is heading for much more and tries to warn Kay that. Ralph is not the marrying kind. She tries to head Kay off when she makes plans for a “love nest,” but Kay persists and attempts to seduce Ralph at her pool. He evades her passes and asks her if they can’t just slow things down. But Kay is undaunted, and since he isn’t proposing, she does so herself. Ralph, who has told Bill that Kay’s money stands in‘ their way, gently turns her down, explaining that she would need to change him and they wouldn’t be happy. Humiliated and hurt, Kay starts drinking again.
    • I think it wasn't just some of the poor casting choices that did the show in during its early days, but also the flat writing. Perhaps it was network interference? You'd think the Dobsons would have fought harder for their original vision, but after 6 months they dropped most of it.
    • Small Bar is a better set than the casino set.
    • The show loses me once the crime stories are in overload.  Heather and Jerry's marriage doesn't excite me. It would have been tawdry, but I think there should have been more lingering in Heather and/or Greg's feelings for the other. Or at least having someone suspect that their newfound sibling relationship was more complicated. But none of their parents were around. It just feels like they burned through too much story there too quickly.  Ellen and Dale's romance definitely seems intriguing. I don't think I knew they toyed with Jill having feelings for Dale, which would have meant that Jill was once again considering going after her mother's man. That's a very interesting dynamic. With David coming home from Hong Kong, and Tom afraid of David's involvement, I think they should have given Tom and Jill a try. Tom trying to use Jill to buy respectability and maintain power at the law firm.  Vicki and Tony's affair seems like fun with Vicki just seeming to see Tony as more of a sexual object and it leading to a health crisis. There was probably some space to explore that both Tony and Ginger's fathers were criminals (Tony's bio dad). I can't remember if Harry Wilson/Ike Harding died, fled town, or went to prison. If he was alive, I think he would have been worth revisiting.  What fascinated me about "Somerset" in early 1976 is its a show of remnants, pieces of the show's different eras, and they seem to sorta work, not as well as more well defined canvas would. I do think a streamlining was needed, but I am not sure if the criminal angle was the best route to choose.
    • Thanks for finding that about the Andrade home. I think it wasn't show in the opening weeks, but I may be wrong. With Danny in Los Angeles and Santana on her own, I don't think much space was given to Rosa and Reuben. It might have been nice to see them engaged in a healthy relationship threatened by Rosa keeping Santana's recently uncovered pregnancy from Reuben or even a visit from one of their other chidlren.  During the 1991 dinner, I think Rosa stated she would go home after work, which I took to me that she left the Capwell estate.
