I hope both AMC, GH, & OLTL get some pushes. All 3 are really trying right now. I just hope that something is going on behind the scenes and esp. MMT and Higley are out.

I really want Y&R to get a push. Last week was tremendous esp. Thursday and Friday. But this week has beent thier best week so I am really hoping for a push next week.

Anyway I'll play the predictions. I am a little more pessimistic than some I guess.

1. Y&R 4.6 (+.3)

2. B&B 3.3 (+.2)

3. GH 2.8 (+.1)

4. DOOL 2.7 (+.1)

5. AMC 2.6 (+.2)

5. OLTL 2.6 (+.1)

7. ATWT 2.4 (same)

8. GL 2.3 (+.1)

It will be interesting to see the final standings for AMC, OL and ATWT to see what the complete (i.e. unrounded numbers might look like).

Taken on face value (and if my math is correct -- please double check), ATWT was a 2.43 and OLTL a 2.475, but OLTL's numbers could have been as low as a 2.425 if the dailies were more like 2.55, 2.35, 2.35 and 2.45.

Well I guess I was a bit off ATWT tied AMC, OLTL for 5-7th places this is still not good when the ratings should have gone up a lot during this week, I fear for what ATWT ratings will look like in the next coming weeks, I know a lot of peoples NYR was to stop watching the crap on ATWT :(

Just think if JP would have kept Luke's storyline going and telling stories like she was during the spring and Summer ATWT could have been competing with GH and DOOL right now, unfortunately she wanted to shove her favorites down the viewers throats, and the viewers don't like her favorites and it shows, when will she get the hint?.

Unfortunately, it only matters if they are Nielsen viewers. After 5 years, I stopped watching ATWT the middle of that Christmas week and have removed it from my VCR, but since I'm not a Nielsen viewer, it didn't matter.

I was surprised that ATWT and AMC tied considering the daily numbers so I took out my calculator and figured out that it was rounding due to the daily numbers being rounded.

I am bummed that Days didn't go up more. I had hoped that they would be competing for second place or third place. Oh well, they are continuing to do well and any increase is wonderful. I just hope that they can maintain these numbers. And I am really surprised Y&R didn't do better. Maybe the Brad storyline really is putting everyone to sleep. And I hope the wrap up Carmen's murder mystery soon.

Well, a 2.9 on Tuesday for DAYS is great! They haven't had a 2.9 since last January. I'm glad the show went up, but I was expecting a bigger bump. It was the most action-packed week I have ever seen on DAYS.

It's really GH and DAYS who are competing for the #3 spot.

WTG GH. Keep on rising. You deserve it right now. It is so good to see you rise after a sweeps stunt instead of go back down. And for the first time I can say they have kept the excitement factor up after sweeps too. Maybe they are learning.

Glad Y&R held firm. They should go back up for this week. It has been so good this week.

I hated to see B&B's numbers for Friday. I know that they were not seen on the West Coast and knew it would go down. Glad the other days were good.

Sorry that GL has slumped back down. They have been so good lately. I am glad to see them hold onto their steady numbers though. Hopefully they will get a bump with their big 70th anniversary story coming up.

Hopefully soon the ratings will start to show for the shows that seem to be trying to make improvements. Days is getting better, AMC is getting lots better, OLTL is finally doing some things right, and GH as I said seems to be working on building from the sweeps months instead of the opposite. These 4 shows are really trying, and Lynn Latham is taking risks at Y&R (some good ones and some bad ones) but I hope she will be rewarded that that.

I have not seen a producer/writer take these type of risks with daytime since Paul Rauch/Harding LeMay. I didnt agree with all of their risks either (esp when they fired my man George Reinholt). But they took the risks and gave us some of the best daytime drama there was when the dust settled. Latham is taking risks and not playing it safe with her stories and some of her other decisions. That is what daytime needs if it is ever going to get out of the funk that it is in. It was the risk takers like Rauch/Lemay and esp. Gloria Monty who changed daytime before. I am not saying that Latham is going to do that or that she is as good as any of them, but I do applaud her for not following the formula. And I hope she will get pay off in the ratings for it.

Right now she balances her stories out. I don't see any favoritism. There is not one character that seems to be on everyday. Right now I am watching or taping all 9 shows on the air, and everyone of them have their favorite characters and when the counts are done at the end of the months and year those few characters seem to always be right there on top. I like how Latham spreads the stories out. I am just sad that Ashley seem to never get her time, but the way she is leaving tells me Ashley will be back.

Anyway I love Y&R right now, and hope they get a big push for the show this week.

Unless my math is off AMC would be at a 2.6 (2.55 rounded up) this week. Which is something they haven't had in months. Then OLTL at a rounded at a 2.5 (2.47) and ATWT at a 2.4 (2.43). Congrats to Days. It deserves it's 2.7 and wow to GH getting a 2.8 does that mean that they did better this week then the Luke and Laura sweeps month?

    • Loved Valerie Mahaffey as crazy as a box of frogs Sandy Cooper on Wings. 2025 needs to chill out already. May Ms. Mahaffey rest in peace.
    • She was great on there. And Wings. And so many shows. I don't feel like we get those character actors as much now.
    • Cady did have a southern accent as Dixie in her first few years playing the character... but it started to minimize the longer she played the character (which tracks because my aunt had a heavy southern accent when married my uncle and years living in the north has softened it quite a bit). Her initial stint playing Rosanna was partly due to mirroring the previous actress and eventually developing her own take on the character. And the thing about her take as Kelly on Y & R was that she was too sedate when she first took over playing the role (she was supposed to play a woman that had recently lost her child.. and trying to keep things together) and then went OTT crazy and didn't play it well.    And I don't care to remember her attempt at playing Jennifer on Days. I think this Pamela character is the first time she's playing a character from the start and I think she's like a kid at a candy store.  She's having so much fun trying different things... and I hope eventually she decides to settle on a more consistent character for Pamela (perhaps her love of accents is a character trait based on something traumatic that happened to her in the past maybe).
    • That's sad. I remember her mostly from ER and the shortlived, yet very funny, sitcom The Powers That Be.
    • As always loved seeing Ric with Liz. I hope the show forever keeps them in each others orbit even if it’s just platonic. I’m sure she’s going to cut him out when she finds out he’s blackmailing Alexis though. So darn.
    • I have to be honest I’m really struggling with this show. I love everything with Eva/Leslie/Ted/Nicole/Kat and enjoy Dani and Bill’s shenanigans (I’m on the Hayley needs to be recast train now tho), Chelsea is second to Kat as my favorite Dupree grandkid and I loved her coming out to her mom. The show was on a truly great run with the big Leslie and Eva reveal at Nicole and Ted’s anniversary party and the fall out has still been good even with the unnecessary Ted recast and them making Leslie kind of dumb by exposing herself too much unnecessarily. The real problem for me started when they rotated back to way too damn much screen time for Derek/Ashley/Andre (if anyone should have been up first for a recast it was these three IMO). They tried way too hard to drum up drama between Ashley and Derek and the actors were clearly fighting for their mediocre charisma less acting lives to make it work but none of it landed, just horrible. Naomi and Jacob and this weird homeless woman story are also BORING. I can see where its potentially going but IDGAF at all, my only hope for them is that they’re building a triangle with Naomi/Jacob/Kat because Jacob and Kat have stronger chemistry together than their current love interests (Eva is the only one who can make the awful Tomas work). Martin, his secret and still cringe worthy acting got kind of interesting with Bill dropping hints to Smitty but they completely lost me with that lil fakeout scene at the country club. The lame “teenagers” (air quotes because Samantha is no Bianca Lawson and never beating the black Andrea Zuckerman allegations) can get off my screen as well. Joey creeping on Vanessa is grossing me out at this point, I actually quite like Vanessa and Doug now but Joey falls totally flat as a villain and someone we’re supposed to buy Vanessa being enamored with. I’m glad they’ve finally set up something interesting for Vernon and Anita to do with this girl band reunion instead of Anita wringing her hands and telling us she feels darkness coming and Vernon giving a civil rights speech every episode but yeah… People who’ve posted with me for other shows know I’m not one for fast forwarding or hate watching either, if I find a majority of a show is not working I usually just quit but because of what this show represents for me as a Black male soap fan I really want to stick it out. Its just become a challenge lately. I saw Guza has left the building and I REALLY hope we hear about some more BTS changes. The additions of Tracy Thompson and Jamie Giddens don’t exactly inspire a lot of confidence from me tho. Honestly praying hard for a new EP to replace JHC, a lot of the stuff that annoyed about her PC and AMC runs has started to match up here. I’m giving the show through the Summer to rectify some things but IDK how long I can hold on tbh. Its been a struggle to even finish some of these episodes lately.
    • I agree. I liked the episode but it felt jarring to suddenly return to a bunch of plots that had been put on pause since the Nurses' Ball started. Although I did like Laura popping in at the end to tell Alexis that millions of dollars have suddenly disappeared from Ace's trust fund. One set of scenes that made me feel optimistic for the next few months were between Sofia Mattsson and Rory Gibson. While Rory has been good as a darker, colder Michael this week, I was worried that he might not have much range. But he really warmed up with Mattsson, and I thought that (for the first time) Michael and Sasha had some genuine chemistry.
    • Next week is going to be such a sad time... I just feel it based on what was shown today. I'm wondering if the whole John being bandaged thing being a throwback to how he first arrived on the show was a Ron C idea since it just seems as though this would be something he would come up with.  If so, it's good that Cwikly/Ford are in charge with the implementing of the idea instead of him. Just a delayed thought from the Ciara scenes earlier in the week, or last week.. and how she had an odd way of dressing/acting.  I chuckle because little Ciara did say that she admired and wanted to be just like Kristen when she grew up.  So the fact that her outfit choices are so odd/off beat and her manner is a bit OTT just fits.. especially since Eileen's Kristen had an odd sense of fashion and that frantic OTT undertone to her delivery. With that said, a part of me wonders how Eileen's Kristen would have handled the scenes being done this week in regards to John's situation.
    • My god the smirking was back in full force today. He almost started smiling after Johnny mentioned he wouldn’t be there if EJ hadn’t raped Sami. I will say I did like seeing him with Dee as they’ve always had great chemistry.    They really are giving a lot of false hope with John getting better. I wish they hadn’t done that. Monday is going to be devastating. I really liked all the characters mixing and mingling today.  Nu-Rachel is still too sweet for me. Loved all the flashbacks. Everyone looked so young. Really enjoyed Brady’s scenes with John today.
