Y&R: Eileen Davidson Speaks Out

I know, I'm gonna be pissed if all this "room-clearing" turns out to be for nothing.

Is this Lexie as of Lexie and Abe? I liked her whenever Days held my interest. Maybe Y&R should pick her up as an Olivia recast!

As for Ashley, why couldn't Y&R just have her character go to Victor and get his consent before impregnating herself. That single action ruined the character. Eileen should have dumped Y&R years ago because the writing has been on the wall for a long time.

That's what I'm hoping. I'd pick Y&R up full time.

I'm very sad about this because ED's return in late 90s, got me back to being a regular viewer -- except during the you-know-what storyline. Something tells me that ED firing may have to do with her salary. Let's face it, they resigned the fab Jess Walton this year -- I'm sure she wasn't cheap. (The show has a number of serious veterans, which is good.) However, it's just not sustainable. Unfortunately, someone had to go. Let's look at the list of vet characters played by veteran actors: Victor, Nikki, Jack, Neil, Dru, Kay, Jill, Brad, Phyllis, Michael, Paul, Nick, Sharon and Lauren (even though she's not on contract). The only character that could've been swapped with Ashley would be Brad. Frankly, I'd rather see Brad, Victoria and Colleen, than another Victor/Ashley/Nikki retread.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sharon Case was next. What purpose does her character really serve? Jack's Bimbo is never long for the haul.

Sharon Case ain't goin anywhere! :P If the David Tom rumor is true, I'd bet the farm that Amelia Heinle is out next, and Heather Tom is brought back. Maybe that would justify the Davetta/Christel situation.

She'll be back on Days. She probably just can't talk about anything right now, with negotiations under way and all.

Exactly. Which is why Renee Jones and _______ are being let go just two days after Eileen was fired to make room.

She thanked Y&R for the opportunity the show had given her. She said she might be open to going back to Days but being a full time mom would be a "dream."

OH GOD.

PLEASE!!!!

Eileen, I'm begging you.

I expect to see Heather Tom return to Young and Restless.

I about halfway expect to see Dan Gauthier land at either Young and Restless or Bold and Beautiful for short-term stints. That is just speculation.

Courtesy of Meghan at Toni's:

In both SOW and SOD there are interviews with Eileen Davidson in which she talks about being fired. ED said she was not given an explanation for why she was fired. But she said she was not surprised and she had been telling Don Diamont and Peter Bergman for months that she thinks she will be fired but they told her no way. ED said that the show is a "whole different animial" now and the firing of Jerry Douglas made her think that she was next especially when Jack Smith and Kay Alden were also fired. ED believes that Ashley lost her bearings. She said she would ask the writers where was Ashley's "dignity" her "self respect?" ED was quoted as saying she did not understand why Ashley was constantly running after Victor despite his rejections. She said as a result Ashley became a character without integrity.

Interesting & she also was complaining about the direction her character was going. I have a feeling if the people who plays Katherine & Jill could be next.

Ashley hadn't had a real good storyline in years. Even LML picked up where Alden and Smith left off and made Ashley sort of an afterthought rather than a complete character on the Y&R canvas. ED is a fine actress without question. It shall be anyone's gain to get her.

There is great speculation of course that ED is headed for DAYS. But her saying that she wants to spend more time with her children carries a lot of weight to it. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes her time to explore her options.
