Another World was salvageable right up until the plug was finally pulled. The same is true for ANY cancelled soap. But do you see Another World around? NO. Because nobody took advantage of the fact that it was salvageable.

The same thing is true with AMC.

FACT: Frons does not like All My Children. He LOVES General Hospital. He likes One Life to Live.

FACT: Felicia Behr got the axe from ABC because she was defending the show. Does that not suggest someobody wants it gone?

FACT: Megan McTavish is not going anywhere until at least April. And even then she probably won't go.

IF AMC survives, and I really don't think it has a snowball's chance in hell, it will be because of people who screamed at the top of ther lungs, not because of people who sat with their eyes closed and fingers stuck in their ears singing la-dee-da.

I can't count how many letters I've written to Frons, Anne Sweeney, and Julie Hannan Carruthers over the past few years. Imo, nobody behind the scenes gives a [!@#$%^&*] how we longtime fans feel. They're going to tell the stories about the same few characters they want, make them as simplistic as possible, rewrite the history of the show, and do whatever else they feel like.

I remember reading when Frons was hired that the didn't know anything about AMC. That's been painfully obvious for the past 4 years. As long as the people above Frons keep him around, AMC is doomed.

It won't be cancelled...some changes need to be made and they can maybe rise again.

Frons will try to mold AMC into what he wants it to be, an MTV style show that really by the time he is done won't be any relation to the real AMC at all, and once he figures out that doesn't work it will be gone. I've jumped onto the negative bandwagon, took a while but its finally happend. My show is dying and while I will watch until the end, my show is dying. The cancers of Frons, McT and JHC must be removed, and the sooner the better. The show can still be saved..... but quick!

AMC can be saved and the upcoming storyline in the spoilers section might be the way to do it, if it's written correctly.

STOP!, Totally two diffrent things/soaps. AMC Is alot way off then most soaps on now its plain NOT Watchable.

Hehe, I read a post that said we should stick by our soap and support it. LMAO, You do realize that FRONS/ABC has no respect for us longtime fans and the Vets on the show. I'm done with AMC they lost a nielson family cause I choose not to watch anymore. I actually pray the show gets cancelled before they keep messing up the great history of the show.

I honestly don't see what the big deal is. Yeah, it sucked for a while, but these passed few days have been pretty good. Plus I'm looking forward to the sk storyline.

I really don't know what to make of AMC anymore. I sure as hell don't want it cancelled, but I am starting to wonder if someone high up does. (I'm looking at YOU BRIAN FRONS!)

I see it not so much as can AMC be saved as WILL it be saved? The issue is investment. From what I've seen and read, the soap budgets are not only misspent (think OLTL/plane crash, ME's new salary, etc), but shrinking. Tricks like the camera work may be as budget as artistically driven. Quality takes money, and as the ratings go down, the budgets get slashed. Good writers may not WANT to go work under current conditions, even if there is $$$ to pay them -- I suspect one of OLTL/Higley's selling points was that she came cheap. Until production's goals are changed, who are they going to bring back? They'd rather bring back Budig than Barr. Even the report from Errol said that the solution was more budget cuts if there was a poor sweeps, which means more cast cuts -- and it isn't going to be Colby or Sydney out the door.

I really wouldn't be surprised if ABC cancelled a soap to try out a new one. At this point they are losing so many viewers and the longer they wait to make chances the more impossible it will be to fix the shows. AMC is already losing cast which is a BAD sign and GH couldn't even get the ratings with the heavily promoted Luke and Laura return.

Honestly I think some are over dramatizing this. If Days can make it through the train wreck it that was a little as a year ago, then ANY soap can make it.

Difference between DAYS and AMC? ABC owns AMC outright...DAYS is owned by Sony/Corday. Corday and Co. can run their show(for the most part) they way they like, especially since they are out of the cluthces of Jimmy Reilly. ABC has too many cooks in the kitchen, beginning with Frons. He has his fingers in every pie at ABC Daytime, right down to the camerawork. When a network owns its shows, obviously there is gonna be MORE interference and(if the network is run by a tyrant) little room for the show to grow and develop.

I don't think any soap deserves to be cancelled. Think of it this way, if that was your favorite soap, you wouldn't be wanting people to wish cancellation on it if it deserves it or not.

But, don't you get it? Most AMC fans aren't wishing for the show to be cancelled(even if they are saying it). They are just fed up with the current state of affairs and want to make a change.

Do I believe those changes can be made? Absolutely. But until Frons gets his head out of the sand, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Two totally different things & soaps, yeah maybe so, but there was a point Days was completely unwatchable, and I remember Days fans saying "Days will be cancelled", "it's in danger of cancellation if they keep doing this or that" and so on. Sound familiar

Frons doesn't like OLTL either, and I think it would be the first soap to go, and no I can't ever seem them cancelling one of the ABC soaps and putting a new one in it's place cause that would be a sure way to guarantee that it wouldn't last.

AMC is not bad

It's not bad...it totally sucks.

Most of the posters that I've gotten to know over the last several years have all switched over to Y&R, GH, and DOOL.

Frons AND Carruthers need to go first but they won't. And because of that the show will continue to slide. I feel terrible for the talent that is left behind, Susan Lucci, Michael E Knight, Cameron Mathison, etc. but this is a sinking ship and there is nothing they can do at this point to bring me back again. And I watched since 1970. It's a sad thing but I wish they would end it before totally blowing Pine Valley sky high and destroying all my good memories.

It deserves to be cancelled. If nobody is making an effort to turn this show around, which they clearly are not seeing as its been a pile of [!@#$%^&*] for 3 years straight now, then pulling the plug is probably a mercy killing.
