Coming out should not be a "trend."

I don't want being gay to be some fashion statement. Coming out and being gay is not a trendy statement. It's who I am. I'm proud of it.

I just don't want someone trivializing my life and saying I came out because it was "trendy."

There are enough jerks in my dating pool as is without adding more useless bodies that came out, not for themselves, but because they were jumping on a bandwagon.
