Wow I am so happy we had this thread posted.

Roman's and my blog gets alot of views but for awhile after we started we barely got any comments and I was worried. All the other blogs were getting comments and I wasn't so I was worried no one was reading. Clearly, I was wrong. I hope we continue to please current readers and get new ones to read as well.

I am glad people are commenting more. Please continue. It helps tell me and Roman what is working and what is not. I know some hate the length of the episodes and steps will be taken soon to rectify that so not to worry.

I am going to promise to try to comment more on other's blogs. Roman usually comments in others' blogs more then I do but I want to try to as well. I make time and read all the blogs but then I just go back to mine and keep writing because I put alot of hours into mine. I will try though.

Now maybe someone should make a thread so we can comment on what stories everyone likes in the blogs and what stories people dislike or something? That could be fun.:)

Now IA with that, as long as posters are respectful and constructive. If it gets nasty, that would be counter productive. I think everyone is having a great time talking with each other about what we enjoy, and pimping our future stories.

The networks could learn some things from all of us, don't you think?

They sure could Roman  .

I don't think it would have to be nasty. I mean it's ok to be critical and tone is crucial. If someone makes a comment in a sarcastic or rude tone, then yes it is counterprotective but some construcice criticism and suggestions in a nice, friendly tone would be nice. We should have a topic or something pinned for the blogs so we can keep these discussions going. I am loving all this blog focus :)

See its funny that you posted this because currently i feel the same way, about the lack of comments. I mean i know some people are reading because i check the view counts but im not really sure if people are enjoying it, but wat ever. I will continue to write until i either get bored with it, or can't come up with anything else. Although I have to say that I felt for the longest time that if you weren't writing a days blog you weren't going to get read, but Ryan broke that mold.

Yup. That was at Kelly's wedding to Jeffrey Conrad. LOVED IT!! It was for the murder of Elena Nikolas/Eleanor Norris and he had already been jailed for the crime. Somehow, Eden and the Capwells worked it out with D.A. Keith Timmons & he was allowed to go to the wedding, though while being watched & guarded. Everyone, including Kelly & Jeffrey, was in on the plan for him to go on the run. All the major players of that story were at the wedding, which made it all the more gripping to watch. I miss the show so damn much, it ain't even funny. Writing the fanfic provided that comfort for years after it was cancelled, and lately I've been nostalgic all over again, which is why I decided to start it up.

I echo Phoenix and s2h - we love the comments. It helps do our 'job'. I'm sure all blog soap writers feel the same. That said, I've had an influx of comments on my stuff this past week which has been awesome. I hope everyone's enjoying all the blogs they read.

Just thought I'd bump this thread back up there. I know we have the SONBC thread, but it's more about pimping & talking amongst one another. This is more about what's being read.

Currently, I read King's daily (which was like running a marathon this week ), Phoenix/Roman, and Actor's. I keep up with Steve Frame's , RC's, Oakdalelover's, Josh's, Drew's, and daysfan's as well. I am about to start up MichaelGL's as well. What I LOVE is that for the mostpart, each blog is very different from the next, even if they are based on the same show. Let me just say that November sweeps has been AWESOME!!! If only ATWT & DAYS had stepped it up this November like their corresponding blogs did! (can't say GH too, cuz they did step up)

Anybody else following certain blogs right now? Interesting to see how things may change in a month!

My daily blogs are: Life in Oakdale, The World of Oakdale, The Light, The Brotherhood, and now the three GH's (if only the shows were as good as the blogs). I also try to keep up with all the Days ones, The Market and Return to Santa Barbara. Sometimes I have to catch up on the weekend. I did read Leevo's last night and it is pretty good too.

I read King's and Actor's blogs religiously. I also read Return to Santa Barbara and Steve's blog as well. I have loved Tishy's first two episodes and I am also a big fan of Ryan's blog. The Market is another good one, but the episodes are far and few between, but when they do come out they are good.

I read juniorz, cause I love and miss SB! I read Kings, Ryans, and s2's whenever they post new episodes. Steve's I read like every other day. Every body else, I read on the weekend when I can catch up. I allot myself an hour to catch up on blogs.

I just love how everyone's is different and the styles of writing everyone has. I hope everyone is having as much fun as I am.

I try to read everybody's blogs.

I keep up with Dusty's because it is ATWT related,Josh's becuse it is GL related and Steve's because it is a classic soap that features so many family names from years gone by.

I don't watch GH but I like to read Ryan's Secrets and Lies.

I am a fairly new DAYS viewer so I try to keep up with the DAYS blogs.

King's and Roman/Phoenix's especially.

Like I said,I do try to keep up with everybody's.

    • In regards to the Reva vs Erica discussions... I think there was one main difference between the two characters.... Erica never took over/ate up airtime on All My Children.  While she was a larger than life character, she never took over the show and there were times she was even supporting and not the lead.... while Reva basically suffocated Guiding Light in the later years with her presence.
    • That was such a missed opportunity, especially with May sweeps.  And, it would’ve been a much better story for Naomi/Jacob than whatever’s going on with June
    • https://www.hulu.com/hub/tv/collections/9979 Amazed! But loving it. What this shows is GH Hulu out of top 15, GH is #2 & this was Saturday. Are we happy campers? Yes, at least for the moment, you bet we are.
    • I forget his name but Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth had the EP on after they didn't understand the 60s flashback episode due to the lack of original music. He felt that was one of his strongest episodes so he came on to explain to them just how much the music changes hurt the series. Basically, they only allowed him to pick a selection of episodes he felt the music was vital and other than that they didn't bother to save the music.  They kept music for prom and things like the Color Me Badd episode and for most of the musical acts but any music you loved from the opening of the show or just music played in random scenes was cut.  I know there are also some scenes cut but I don't know too much about that. The most glaring one was Clare's final scene being cut which is obviously a huge problem for a character who'd been around for so long. Overall I was able to enjoy my rewatch using the DVDs but without all of the original music it isn't nearly as good a show.
    • Too many returns, that's when you know a show has run out of ideas and doesn't care anymore.  Zoe annoyed the sh!t out of me most times, but the Kat/Zoe storyline will always be iconic and close to my heart (that's the era I first started following the show in near real-time), and probably the only storyline in 21st century EastEnders that had long-term value for the characters involved during their initial run together. However, after all this time and the writing choice that Zoe never wants to see Kat again, I think that ship has sailed and I don't know that it makes sense to revisit it at this point.
    • Former EastEnders star Michelle Ryan is reprising her role as Zoe Slater on the BBC soap following an absence of over 20 years.  It’s been reported that Zoe will return to Albert Square later this year and that she’ll take centre stage in a dramatic new storyline involving her family.  The news comes amidst news of other big returns, which include Max Branning (Jake Wood), Tanya Cross (Jo Joyner), Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), who will also be back in Walford later in the year.
    • I actually love the new fashion.
    • Admittedly, I was a latecomer to ATWT (first becoming a regular viewer in 2000). But I really liked KMH's Emily. I thought she was a very specific kind of neurotic professional character, and I loved her prickly relationship with MM's Susan. I will say I don't think the show did her any favors after Hal died, stranding her in storylines with several of the show's dullest characters: nu-Paul, nu-Meg, and nu-Dusty. I actually quite liked one of her last major storylines, when she discovered she had a grown-up biological son with Larry named Hunter. But then Hunter just sort of disappeared, and the story fizzled out, which was pretty typical of the late Goutman years.
    • I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.
    • Well, her staff pointing out the movie connection never seemed to stop Long from using those plots.  She was right about Vanessa--she needed a man who loved her, which she'd never really had up to then. But as others have pointed out, Long borrowed heavily from Taming of the Shrew to get it done. (which while I kinda disputed that, I get more now, having watched Kiss Me Kate a few times since.)
