Grey's Anatomy Looking To Replace Isaiah Washington?

Isaiah Washington's tenure in the hospital may be over!

Producers of ABC's #1 show, Grey's Anatomy, are looking to replace the fictional doctor, reports In Touch Weekly.

The cast and crew of the show have been in an uproar after the actor violently threatened co-star Patric "Dr. McDreamy" Dempsey and made homophobic slurs against gay castmate T.R. Knight last week.

Since the incident, In Touch reports that Grey's Anatomy execs have met with three possible replacements: Fast Lane's Bill Bellamy, Soul Food star Boris Kodjoe and former E.R. star Eriq LaSalle.

"Grey's Anatomy is bigger than just one actor," an insider tells the magazine. "It's about the ensemble and Isaiah threatens that chemistry."

The National Enquirer, who broke the brawl story last week, backs up In Touch's reporting.

"The melee has set off World War III on the show and may cost Isaiah his job," an insider tells The Enquirer. "The cast is divided over the shameful event."

Fire him!!

Washington has not even properly apologized for grabbing Dempsey by the throat and pushing him during the on-set fight he instigated. And, he has yet to address his homophobic remarks.

Eric LaSalle would be an excellent replacement!!

OMG if they replace him with Boris Kodjoe I will be in heaven, he is so hot. Heck no to Bill Belamy, he's annoying. Eric Lasalle seems a bit too old and I don't see him fitting in with Meredith and co. But if Eric played another doctor, a mentor type, it could work.

As a re-cast or just a new young black doc?

OMG! Primetime Shows NEVER re-cast! SCANDAL! I love it. I'd be open to a re-cast, honestly. I hate the character anyway.

I liked Eriq LaSalle on ER, but I can't see him on a show like Grey's. Plus, I too think he's too old. My vote is mos definitely for Boris (YUM-O!). He could be the new McStud. Or McBabe. Or McDelish.

Hell no to Bill Bellamy!!

Did IW really drop the F-bomb on TRk, or is this a rumor generated by the Nat'l Enquirer? I like Burke, and never had a problem with IW. But if he really said that, man, I don't know . . . I just hope Shonda does what's best for the show.

I vote no to the recast. Get rid of Isaiah Washington by all means but reveal that "Burke" was on the downlow. That'll teach him. Boris as a replacement? Absolutely, but be honest about it and make the new character's story about the hospital staff's same racial quotas as the show's.

.. And Shonda will do well by the show if she's allowed to. I have full confidence in her.... maybe not the network.

And here I was typing the dynamic between the cast was so great. This BLOWS. If Eric Braeden and Peter Bergman could get into a fist fight, apologize for it nationally, and then continue to work together for all these years. Then surely these two men can get over it. But I guess this is a bit different. People need to grow the fu*k up. IW has a job that so many inspiring actors will probably dream for (being part of the # 1 rated show), and he does something so juvenile.

It must be more than just this incident if they are considering a recast. He must be a terror on the set, as we see so often behind the scenes. Wasn't the Bo recast on DAYS offensive to the women on the show? I seem to remember hearing that, but not sure, could be mixed up.

Personally, I'd pick Boris Kodjoe because he's a sexy sexy sex god and can act.

I liked Isaiah Washington and his character Dr.Burke for the first two seasons, but in this season it seems like something is off with both Isaiah and his character.....

You talking about Robert Kelker-Kelley?

oh hell this is getting out of hand. I really don't want to see any cast changes. Be it a recast or a firing. Shows have kept unpopular backstage actors all the time, for the good of the show I'd like them to just keep him. But, if he's going, then write out Burke. You do not recast someone 3 seasons into a primetime show anymore!

Henry Simmons would be the best replacement. Sexy as hell and can act oh so good. When he was on Another World he was good and when he was on Law and Order. Would be a great addition to McDreamy and McSteamy.

Castmembers hate each other on a lot of hit shows. Look at Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall on Sex in the City. They truly loathed each other but you would have never seen it onscreen because they were professional and knew the job had to be done.

JSF, its common knowledge that SJP and KC didnt get along.

KBT: not to me it wasn't! All I knew about KC was that she, for whatever reason, wouldn't work on the proposed 'Sex' movie. Also, that she's way too public about her sex life. Oh, and the fact that I pity her for caring about little else but sex. That's all I knew about her. But that she and SJP had this famous feud? Nope. Sorry. Didn't see that. And I guess I should say, why should I? What would they feud about? Both are liberal so it's not politics.
