Brad story was so bad. God, I don't even want to recall it.

Well I and many other fans think Y&R is still good. It is a matter of taste and personal preference. Not every story on the show is great, as it is on any show. But I still love it and look forward to seeing it. I think the quality is still great, and it deserves to be where it is at in the ratings.

And I still don't think Passions is great, and it will never be Masterpiece Theater. But that is what makes Passions what it is. It doesn't pretend to be that. When I watch Passions, I watch it for pure entertainment, and that is what it has been lately. I think the show is lots better than what it was during Vendetta and earlier this year. So I think it highly deserves the boost it got in the ratings.

The production value and the natural acting alone are enough to get me to watch Y&R, but the stories need a kick in the A.

Which is weird because I picked up Y&R in the summer, and I thought it was amazing....now, I think it's crap.

I completely agree with you, KR. I've started watching Y&R during the summer and now, I just can't stand it.

Go DAYS! :D I'm so happy it went up about 400,000 viewers from the previous week and 218,000 more than last year. Pretty impressive, IMO. After all the stuff that just happened this week on DAYS and coming up next week, I think the ratings will go up another 2 points.

I still don't like the looks of daytime as a whole. Even with 2 shows picking up their viewership from last year - a change this week from when last week almost every show was down. At least we are not down over a million viewers. We are still down 892,000 viewers from this time last year.

The average HH rating for this time last year was 2.74. This year it is 2.6.

So overall we are down. I wish that would pick up - esp. viewers. The overall outlook for daytime soaps as a whole has not been good for several weeks now. The last time we showed an increase in viewers from this time last year was during July I think. I think that is when Rick did the totals and showed that we were up in viewers, but some pointed out that it was during that time last year that so many were without TV due to Hurricane Katrina.

StreveFrame, I believe we can lay blame based on your thoughtful analysis of overall numbers - ABCD and Brian Frons. It's as if ABCD isn't even trying anymore

Oh I agree with you, but even look at B&B which is down in the 200,000 viewers too. It is sad. Viewers are just tuning out in droves because of producers that don't care.

Has the whole industry given up? Surprisingly NBC and P&G seem to be having some positive results. I only hope B&B's decline is not a harbinger for Y&R. Once the Y&R anchor starts to go, all soap bets are off.

Those numbers are fascinating. ABC is taking the biggest hit. OLTL's numbers are interesting in that they are taking the bigger hit over AMC. OL has appeared to be relatively stable in comparrison to AMC but those numbers show that it is taking a hit. I also love the fact that CBS is in positive numbers while ABC has the honor of the largest loss. Frons reaps what he sows. Exactly what is his plan to fix OL? Get rid of the few remaining things that work?

:o 2006 is up by 500,000 viewers! Go Daytime!

500000 viewers is practically nothing. This is slightly more than 1 % - mathematical inaccuracy - which pretty much says nothing since we're speaking of the culmiated sum of viewers of 9 soap operas.
