I really wanted Miguel to fry. Unfortunately it was just a fantasy. Is it too much to hope that Fox will succeed in stabbing Miggles? *crosses fingers*

I said it before: Gwen is a smug !@#$%^&*] and someone needs to wipe the smirk off her face. I really want Jared to put her in her place, and for Ethan to not defend her! hahaha! Stuart Allen is creepy and needs to die.

I'm so tired of Fancy and Luis. Where is Beth? We need her to liven things up!! She should pose as a hairdresser and shave Fancy bald, and then Fancy could go around wearing a variety of funky wigs.

I loved today's episode. Luis and Fancy are very cute and I liked how they were being with each other today. Can I tell you how much I hate Gwen? I can't wait until she finally goes down. Also, I'm loving Jared and Theresa. If Travis Schuldt was still playing Ethan I'd want a Jared/Theresa/Ethan triangle.

Luis/Fancy are the only things I watch! Love them! Shuis who? (Although I think Kam Heskin is fabulous and should permanently replace MW).

I enjoyed today's too except for a few things:

1. !@#$%^&*] parading as Tabitha.

2. Kay being a complete IDIOT and not facing the fact that DUH! The mermaid's curse would NOT be stopped unless Fox SAW you and Migs in a passionate embrace. (stupid !@#$%^&*]!!!)

3. Fox isn't under a spell. He's actually going to MURDER Migs. This is character destruction at its finest. :)

I SO want Gwen to find out that her husband FUCKED Theresa while the power went out. I would pay to see the big reveal. !@#$%^&*] is so smug she deserves to be put in her place. I mean, if the skank doesn't get it YET that no matter what she does or doesn't do, Ethan will NEVER love her the way a man loves a woman, she deserves to SUFFER.

And yes, Stuart Allen is the creepiest character in daytime.

I think Fox wanting to kill Miguel is in character. It's about damn time that he got mad at Miguel and is pushed to the breaking point!!! Plus, Fox is a Crane. It's in his blood to kill. Besides, this also proves how deep his love is for Kay. I think it's romantic. :)

Plus, MCW is sooooo damn good as Fox these days. And hot. I love him! :)

Wow.

Okay, I really think you are the keeper of unpopular opinions when it comes to "Days" and "Passions."

But about KILLING being ROMANTIC...that troubles me a bit. Especially since true love, in its purest form, isn't proud nor jealous. If Fox TRULY loves Kay and sees her with Miguel, he'd be a MAN, confront her about the romp he saw, and say he will set her free to be with Migs if that's what SHE wants.

Anything other than that would be a cheap imitation of love. Because love is pure, and it surely does not beget murder.

Yeah, I guess Rion took over your role, eh, JSF. LOL ;)

I'm not saying he really should murder...but to be pushed to such a fiery emotion out of love...that's so romantic! Come on, you're not going to kill someone for any old reason...in Fox's case, it's because of his pure, true love for Kay.

  • Member

All I will say is that the Lucy stuff and the Jaresa/Gwen/Ethan stuff was good.

Other then that I could care less. I hate seeing what is happening to Fox. JSF is right-character destruction at it's finest. I don't care if he is a Crane. No Crane just goes right ahead and contemplates murder-things are always more elaborate or more torturous. Mark has never been Fox to me but now I don't even recognize the character nor do I want to watch him.

Oh one more thing-BRING JULIET BACK!!! . I swear whoever is under there sounds like that women from the Weakest Link  .

But that's the problem...pure "true" -- no, TRUE -- love doesn't drive a person to murder. Only a cheap imitation of it would. Because love is pure and murderous thoughts are impure thoughts. Love -- true love -- is completely selfless. That means, if Kay makes love with Migs, Fox will let her, and set her free. But he's not. JER not only assassinated Fox's character, he proved that Fox does NOT love Kay. He just likes her vagina. And really, that's all they do anyway--HAVE SEX. They spend most of their time in bed. I haven't seen very much bonding between the two of them. Very little that's actually "romantic." They 'make love' all the time but have yet to prove to me that they deserve to be together. And after today's stunt? Fox becoming a would-be murderer? Kox are dead FOREVER. There's no redeeming this couple. Sorry. Maybe JER wanted that, though. Maybe he's itching for kayguel, or some other pairing. I've just never seen him so blatantly kill a character or his/her rooting value as he has done with Fox. I mean, WOW. This character is headed for a corner. You can just feel it.

Phoenix, I am SO tired of hearing that fool who replaced Juliet. No offense to the replacement, whoever she is, but she is NOT Juliet, who is irreplaceable. Her body is SMALLER. And she has a different frame altogether. She doesn't even look like Tabitha in a freaking BEE SUIT!!! She is ALL wrong for the part and I DEMAND that Juliet return to work!!!

Yeah, I guess Rion took over your role, eh, JSF. LOL ;)

I should say so!

Rion, seriously, I used to be very pro-JER, too. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I absolutely love, cherish and ADORE "Passions" AND The Great James E. Reilly, but sometimes you just have to admit mistakes that aren't even subjective and are so out there that they become objective TRUTHS, lol. JER has turned around "Passions," to a degree from where it was, but there are some problems. Personally, I'd say the biggest one (and the most serious) was today's destruction of Fox Crane. I just sat and watched in horror. And I'm one of those soap watchers who thinks he can stomach anything this head writer throws my way! But that was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ... damn... I still don't have the words for it. It was just "sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" something, having to do with "wrong" and "wicked" and "depraved." Completely out of character for Fox, especially the "new" Fox.

I just can't go on about this because the Fox incident has me down. :( Luckily, we have Jaresa and Lucy to remember that this show still has its great points and fresh romances building. :)

I wonder if they're planning to write Foox out with this storyline and bring Kay and Miguel together. I preferred Fox and Kay together pre-Fox's murderous rage. Now he seems to be setting Kay up for something and it's such a switch in his character, but not too hard to accept considering he is a Crane. He feels he's been betrayed one too many times, and he realizes he's got the power to change things and get revenge (or whatever he's after) just like his father and grandfather would.

As for replacement Tabitha, I think she's doing fine. If it was permanent, I wouldn't be so ok with it, but the fact that I know it's temporary is allowing me to enjoy how different she is and I have to say that she is really trying, and I appreciate that. I think she's cute. Why hate the temp? She's doing well. And soon, Juliet will be back.

Rion is the new JSF, definitely.

You're kidding, right, Helena? TempTabitha's voice is SO obnoxious and grating that I literally want to hammer out my ear drums so I never hear it again. She's atrocious! And she sounds n-o-t-h-i-n-g like Juliet. Her BODY isn't even somewhat similiar to Tabs. Poser is significantly SHORTER than Juliet. I'm just very dismayed by this very poor, VERY tasteless casting decision -- ESPECIALLY as rumors circulate, questioning whether TempTabs is a cover for contract negotiations with Jules or the next possible firing. :o I hope that's not the case but just in case, let me be clear, NBC, Outpost Farm Productions and "Passions:"

We will NOT accept ANYONE other than the DIVINE Juliet Mills as Tabitha Lenox.

This is HER role.

Don't even THINK about shopping it around to save a few bucks, !@#$%^&*]es!!!

Don't worry Jsf, Juliet ain't going anywhere. She took a bit of time off to do a play.

'Beard' or Bard? It's an entertaining question

By KATHI SCRIZZI DRISCOLL

STAFF WRITER

DENNIS - Who really wrote the plays and poetry credited to Shakespeare?

That question has been debated for centuries as scholars have wondered if a commoner with limited education could possibly have produced all the lyrical work that is still so central to theater.

The mystery became the jumping-off point for Amy Freed‘s 2001 comedy “The Beard of Avon," which was produced off-Broadway to critical acclaim in 2003. The farce is being given a lively production at Cape Playhouse under Russ Treyz‘s playful direction.

Freed favors the theory that Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford, was behind much of the work, but he needed the false name of a frontman, or “beard," because a member of royal society couldn‘t publicly associate with lowly theater folk.

Enter Will Shakspere, a farmer unhappy in work and marriage, but with a talent for rhyming. Likably and richly played by Ian Kahn, Will becomes stagestruck by a traveling troupe, follows the players to London, and is cast, because of his limited talents, as a spear shaker. (Get it?)

Bored and debauched de Vere - in a wonderfully, and often powerfully, nuanced performance by Brent Harris - chooses Will to take credit for such work as “Titus Andronicus" and “Venus and Adonis." After that, Freed‘s comedy is off and running, letting loose a stream of additional possibilities about who really wrote what and what really happened back in the 1500s. She seems to have left no conspiracy, or collaboration, theory unturned.

The largely clever script would have been sharper at 20 minutes or so shorter, with some exchanges and arguments going on too long and the story setup dragging. But Freed fills her story with comic jabs at a variety of targets - especially the theater world - and spices her Elizabethan-style prose with Shakespeare quotes as well as unexpected versions of contemporary sayings. (Several of these come from Will‘s wife, Anne Hathaway, lustily played by Grace Conglewski. At one point, she echoes Ado Annie from “Oklahoma," bemoaning “I‘m just a maid who can‘t say nay.")

Those familiar with Shakespeare‘s plays and poetry will catch more of the references, jokes, wordplay and sometimes protracted weaving-in of common Shakespeare themes like disguises and mistaken identity. So those in the know may enjoy Freed‘s accomplishment on a different level, though the farce, fun and bawdiness of this often breezy production will likely appeal even to the uninitiated.

The five-member supporting cast is exceptional, with all actors playing two or three roles. Arnie Burton and John Robert Tillotson are particularly amusing as John Heminge and Henry Condel, who run the theater company and have their own ideas of drama.

This production‘s headliner as Queen Elizabeth is actress Juliet Mills, a theater veteran who has been nominated for an Emmy Award for her portrayal of witch Tabitha on NBC‘s daytime “Passions." This is an entertaining comic turn for her, filled with whacking people with fans, and she steals one of the play‘s best scenes as a royal audience member who may know the details of “Taming of the Shrew" just a little too well.

Her high-collared dress and de Vere‘s red-and-black outfit are the highlights of Janine Marie McCabe‘s sumptuous costumes, which use rich materials and flowing lines to evoke the period. Richard Chambers‘ set is all wooden columns and arches, with drapes, flags and tapestries that fly in, and a few furniture pieces that slide in, for scene-changing.

So who wrote Shakespeare‘s plays? Who knows? But the Cape Playhouse‘s version of Freed‘s comedy is an entertaining way to speculate.

Uh, no, I'm not kidding. The first day when I realized it wasn't her behind that beekeeper's mask I just chalked it up to Juliet taking a vacation and this person filling in for her, hence the mask in the first place. I don't hear her voice as being obnoxious and grating, and as for not sounding like Juliet, Tabitha's not supposed to sound like herself. I don't think they're hiding the fact that this isn't Juliet behind the mask, I think they just wanted a way to not have to have another face attached to the role (even temporarily) while Juliet's off, which I actually appreciate. She doesn't bother me at all. Because I expect Juliet back any day now.

I'm not going to question why you don't like her voice or acting or whatever...that sort of thing is very subjective. For me, watching Theresa over enunciate every single word and wave her hands around while she speaks makes me crazy. I can't stand it. But that's just me. I'm sure many many fns love her gestures and the way she talks. The woman playing Tabitha now is just so obviously not Juliet, and she's trying and she's so exxagerated that I find it cute. I'm glad I don't hate her, since I'm watching her.

As for the rumors you speak of, I've heard nothing of the sort. I didn't even know she'd be off until I heard temporary Tabitha speak, and then I just thought it was a clever way to keep Tabitha on screen, while Juliet is away. Contract negotiations, possible firing...I'm not going there. I'm not even going to ponder that horrible rumor. Another Tabitha would be unacceptable. This Tabitha, mask on and temporary, is all that I will accept right now.
