The writers didn't forget. Brenda and Jason didn't get married until later, in an attempt to keep each other out of trouble concerning the Luis Alcazar murder. The whole thing with Liz and Jason and Sonny faking his death happened before all that.

I still dont get it though. Was she sleeping when Jason broguth her to the room? I doubt it since it looked like they had sex again. Even if Brenda decorated it, it still would be in the same physical space as it was before. If Im walking in a house and come across a room I havent been in for years, Id still recognize it, despite decoration bc its still in the same spot. I can understand her not knowing the room if physical construction was done, but not simply decoration. I hope I was clear with that

Liz was being sarcastic. "Where are we?" was just a way of being like, "what's this room doing in the middle of your penthouse?" It was just a bit of expository writing for the viewing audience, since we don't see the script where it says INT. BRENDA'S ROOM - MORNING

For the JaSam fans who might've been concerned that Jason boffed Liz in their bed, the writers just tossed that line in there. And also for the Liason fans who waited for this to happen for years and didn't want to see their longtime fantasy lived out on the floor in the living room, they had to give them a more romantic setting -- but also explain it as to why Jason would have this beautifully decorated room in his penthouse.

It was a way of guiding the audience without talking down to them. And as a Brazen fan myself, it was kinda nice to hear Jason speak of Brenda and the time they were technically-married. Steve and Vanessa were phenomenal together.

So all in all, I think all three fanbases had a little bone thrown at them in that brief little scene. But, of course, if you don't like Liz, it's easy pick that line apart as proof of the Idiocy of Elizabeth.
