  1. I'm feeling profane right right now so apologies for language.... Believe me when I tell you nobody in OH-11 gives a phuck about Katie Porter or her endorsement. Seriously? I didn't know that. I'll take it.
  2. Whatever gets pulled out of the infrastructure bill will get returned in the next reconciliation. I really need people to start understanding that Joe Biden knows what he's doing and move away from the "feckless Democrats" talking points.
  3. All I can say about this race right now is that I'm not terribly concerned. Before Marcia Fudge, my rep was Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Before her, it was Louis Stokes. I don't expect that we will trade down to Nina Turner. My only issue is that there are two other "major" candidates in this race and a whole lot of minor ones and lots of candidates always benefits Berners. I'm hoping we can clear the field before voting starts. If it comes down to just Turner and Brown, then I'm not worried. The plus is that Shontel Brown isn't making the mistake so many other Dems have. She's not playing nice with Turner in the name of "unity." She's fighting for this seat and bringing the fight to Nina and I am here for it.
  4. This is nuts but I think it will work.
  5. I've seen occasional mentions that he might be on the spectrum but I'll be honest, I don't know how that gets discussed in the right way. Whatever his issue, this guy doesn't deserve to be anywhere near public office. He's an unserious mess and I'm glad to see his candidacy implode.
  6. Biden being white wasn't going to help him deal with Republicans but it sure as hell helped him get elected. Anyway speaking of whiteness, this live thread of an insurrectionist's court hearing is comedy gold.
  7. I keep keep telling people that. For all this talk about COVID, folks need to remember that these assholes brought back measles.
  8. Sadly this was the Frons Era so...yeah.
  9. Imagine thinking that this guy is going to run again in 2024. What I find striking is that he speaks about the election like it's still happening. He has no idea what the date is.
  10. I'm rewatching Myrtle's funeral.
  11. Ron Johnson needs to end up like Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen. He needs to be found guilty of espionage and go to prison for life.
  12. I know it's hard to be patient but we have a whole new DOJ and I think it's becoming obvious that things have changed. I'm interested in learning more about the arrest of Josh Duggar. The thing I really like is that they are clearly are starting to pivot to dealing with right-wing extremism. Three of the cretins involved in the plot against Gretchen Whitmer just got hit with domestic terrorism charges.
  13. Finally some good news.
  14. Damn you! You beat me here. I came here to post this.😀❤️
  15. I don't usually share the NY Times but this description of Andrew Yang's meeting with the Stonewall Democratic Club sounds absolutely bizarre. This thread has a number of receipts from video to images of texts being shared by members during the meeting. It's brutal.
  16. Three seasons is a good run for a show like this. I think PrayTell will die and Blanca will get a whole spa fantasy experience where we will learn she's in an AIDS ward and hallucinating. The show won't tell us whether she lives or dies.
  17. I really wish people on the left would stop fixating on a single person and pretending that they are the only thing standing in the way. Whether it's Manchin or Sinema or demanding that Harris overrule the Parliamentarian, all of this attacking people on our own side plays into the hands of the Republicans.
  18. Normally I wouldn't share this but he's just a few hours south of me and those of us living in red states need all the support we can get..
  19. I really dislike this tendency of Democrats/progressives running to the press instead of trying to solve this kind of thing behind the scenes. I need her (and Hirono) to be smarter and more strategic. I know it won't ruin ALL future AAPI nominees but it will ruin the next one.
  20. This is stupid. I expect better from Duckworth.
  21. Please let this be a dirty lie. Not Lucci.
  22. That makes it even more likely it was about something else that popped up. "I told them I smoked pot, they hired me, then they fired me for smoking pot" doesn't sound logical.
  23. I'm thinking about this line from the Daily Beast story... “There were one-on-one calls with individual affected staffers—rather, ex-staffers,” one former White House staffer affected by the policy told The Daily Beast. “I was asked to resign.” I'm guessing that whole piece came from someone who got fired for cause way beyond pot and the fact that they ran to the Daily Beast tells me that they probably deserved it.
  24. I don't think this is about smoking pot. It's more likely about lying about past pot use which is something you don't do when you are trying to get a security clearance.
  25. Politico continues to move further and further to the right. They also hate Biden because Biden's White House doesn't leak.
