Got some unexpected Trump tea from my work partner earlier today. Speaking to a Republican, who does not like Trump, he learned that said Republican's close friend is among Trump's team and he/she said Trump is miserable and did not realize what he was getting himself into. However, he's determined to run for a second term. The Republican claims Spicer is actually a very nice man who is miserable because he's stuck at a job where he's forced to lie every day. The Republican does not think Spicer will last more than 2-3 months. Conway, however, he says, is in it till the end.

Our dear friends, the Russians, just voted for domestic violence to be decriminalized. Figured we'd remember things suck elsewhere, too. But, remember, beat your wives WITHOUT causing substantial bodily harm and ONLY once per year. Sorta like the purge, get it out of your system. I wonder, will he see this and think, "Great idea!"? This is why I made my most recent status update. It really wasn't a joke. Things can get to that point SO easily, as many, many countries have discovered. Yeah, the "pawn" phrasing may be taking it too far. But a mother manipulating her daughter in such a way sounds very plausible, though.

My God. This is pure soap opera!

Damn! Thandie Newton has been doing such amazing work as Maeve. The episode in which she learns everything, especially that sequence where she walks around with the tech guy and witnesses the hosts just like her used, created, and discarded like things, was haunting. Loved her blackmailing the two techs and saying they're going to have some fun. And, of course, her heartbreaking reaction to knowing that Clementine will never experience her dreams and deciding to escape the park. But, then, the show twists again with the major revelation that Bernard is a host! Such a great twist, and you can totally see it when you look back (his somewhat emotionless affect, the backstory with his son that is so much like a host backstory that it was so painfully obvious, and YET). That ending with Theresa's murder was superb. I have to admit, I was a little bored with Dolores and William. MAN did this show, which was already good, take off!
