  1. The issue in season 4 pretty much comes towards the end when the network interference starts and the show never really finds its footing again. The show is still fun at points after that though.
  2. @Vee look at 1x01 then skip to 1x14 to see if you're interested - because in 1x14 you get to see Melissa do the soap slut move to end all soap slut moves! She's amazing.
  3. No, these shows rarely planned for more than one season ahead and considering Jill plotted her revenge towards insufferable Valene and was completely justified in doing so, I doubt it was ever in the pipeline from the start.
  4. Not surprised at the limited episodes for Peter and Kristian since this was originally meant to be for BS3. It feels obvious that some of it was at least already pre-written and just hamfisted into the show, hence why it feels like there's two shows in one at the moment.
  5. In my imagination - Val would be the Abby to David's Gary. She'd whip him into shape. Would her shaping him into something respectable make him stay with Val for the long haul or make him go back to comfortable Donna? And yes, Donna would have a steady supply of men wanting her. To keep the tradition! You'd have to watch and see. As for Kelly / Brandon and Steve / Janet - I feel like their stories would contrast; on one side you'd have the outside "perfect" story of Kelly / Brandon and then Steve / Janet who'd be publically the mess.
  6. I posted this reboot idea on Reddit, but I'm an attention whore and like any feedback I get: I'd pitch it as "Knots Landing on steroids" to network execs.
  7. Beverly Hills 90210 - Season 6 finale.
  8. Chandler doing gay tickle fetish porn (while being covered in pizza) would've been more believable xoxo
  9. Well, AI is getting really good...
  10. Yeah, Flamingo Road did "middling" ratings at best in its first season, the second season unfortunately pretty much bombed. Since they did consider for a brief moment of turning it into a daytime soap I could see it doing well in female demographics.
  11. The entire run of Central Park West is available on YT at the moment, but I guess if you only want to see Raquel's scenes...
  12. te. replied to Sedrick's topic in DTS: Cancelled Soaps
Spelling wasn't the one to cancel The Colby's - ABC was. If they had wanted another season, it would've happened. They had already replaced Fallon / Amanda on Dynasty with cousin Leslie. It's funny because one of the suggestions (besides the Fallon-runs-a-hotel idea) was to just expand the show into two hours per week a la Peyton Place, but logistically it would've been too hard and I assume the Dynasty cast didn't want to produce 60+ episodes per season.
  13. Just watch season 2 since it's there it finds its footing, though I'd really just recommend watching the entire series.

    Wonder who the actress was?
  15. I posted it on the previous page But yeah, she even says there that she won't call it a "training ground" out of respect for something Genie Francis pointed out to her, and that was at the height of her Desperate Housewives success. Some people really want the narrative that Eva hates soaps and hates being reminded that she was on one.
  16. I'm guessing Trevor Donovan (who played Jeremy Horton in 2007), who left Hallmark for The Great American Family channel.
  17. It looks dreadful. If they were going to do one for the 50th it should've been based on the early openings:
  18. Yeah, no, Eva actually didn't say anything bad about soaps or soap performers - all she said was that people have a bad perception of actresses as being "dumb" (unfortunately true) and revealed that she didn't want to put all eggs in one basket early on in her acting career, especially as her career headhunter earnt her more money. And I totally get it. Acting rarely pans out for people and if you do a double-hustle you don't want either party to think you're not taking it seriously.
  19. Some people have weird hang-ups I guess - it's like when someone doesn't have Hollywood perfect pearly whites there's always a bunch of people freaking out 🤷‍♂️
  20. I guess there's only so much you can do with a mechanic on a soap though, which is why people end up becoming a cop/lawyer/doctor. It would be interesting if they had pushed Shawn / Belle into a more lower middle class dynamic though as it could lead to different conflicts in their relationships, but it's been so long since DAYS (and in all honesty soaps in general) dealt with such matters.
  21. Is this a prelude to someone else jumping on Kate's "Welcome back to Salem" bandwagon?
  22. Exactly - this, along with Aussie soap Neighbors being revived for FreeVee, is great news for the soap genre overall; clearly having something that's relatively cheap but produces a high level of regular content that keeps people coming back is viable for streamers.
