  4. A summary of a Sept 79 episode from The Paley center One in this long-running daytime serial about the residents of the town of Henderson. This episode begins with a soothsayer telling Dr. Carolyn Hanley that she needs some rest in her life before stealing a tress of her hair. Martin Tourneur hosts a dinner party at his New Orleans mansion for some friends as well as his new ladyfriend, Joanne Vincente. When the party breaks up, leaving Martin alone with Joanne, he intimately talks to her about the excitement his lifestyle can offer her. Martin further wonders why she won't fully submit to his affection, and she admits that she feels a bit out of place in his glitzy world. Meanwhile, Eric talks with his mother about how much he misses the people of Henderson, especially Wendy, who -- to his dismay -- he feels has changed quite a bit. The episode ends with the soothsayer delivering a message to Marco from Dr. Hanley, during which she likewise steals a lock of his hair, which she uses to perform a voodoo ritual. Includes commercials. What is interesting here is the mention of Eric talking to his mother and that Kelly Wood (Lauri Leshinsky Phillips) is listed in the credits. The mystery is that I thought Lauri had been killed off years before and Kelly Wood was now playing Mary on ATWT. Maybe it was Kathy that Eric was talking to and Courtney Simon made an appearance?

  6. Yes and he also rightly complains of things being dragged out, which anyone who has witnessed those 2 person 10 minute scenes from the 70's can attest to.
  7. Many thanks for sharing this. Happy to read and enjoy anything you have. I forever regret tossing out my Afternoon TV mags from late 70's😩
  8. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides Six years ago, Alicia Berenson, a well-known painter, murdered her husband and hasn’t spoken a word since. He was found bound to a chair with gunshot wounds to his face, and she was convicted soon thereafter. Theo Faber is a psychotherapist who hopes to treat Alicia and uncover the mystery behind her motives for killing her husband. As they sit in silence, the main clue he has is a painting she completed. She titled it Alcestis, named after a heroine in Greek mythology who sacrifices her life to save her husband.
  9. Tuck Milligan, who appeared this week on Retro as a drug addict returns in a few years in a much larger role as Theo Whitney.
  10. Some story from this show Maggie Marlowe was 40 and a renowned theater actress. She had planned to retire but following the death of her fiance she accepted a role in a new play for financial and emotional security. A determined young ingenue, Kit Christy, upstaged her, damaging her reputation as a result. Maggie discovered Kit was her long lost daughter. Kit had a boyfriend Ralph. Maggie met Jim Gavin, a dashing married barrister. Jim's wife Barbara was less concerned by this affair than his mother Belle Mare Gavin. Believing her career would benefit Kit welcomed the overtures of Bojalian, an unscrupulous director. Barbara died of an overdose. Jim was suspected but the culprit was Mike Donovan, Barbara's lover.
  11. The Corringtons began in Aug 78 and departed June 1980 to work on Texas portion of AW I get the feeling that they lost enthusiasm for Search way before that. I had always assumed they'd left before that and that Beau and Cissy were introduced by the next writers as the tone and direction seemed to change..
  12. Re Christine Jones A 1977 Who's Who in Daytime TV dealing with Lovers and friends states that she had previously appeared on All My Children.
  13. So Y&R was regularly hitting #1 in the latter half of 79, outrating all the 60 min shows. No wonder CBS pushed for it to expand. SFT hitting #3 - the Carringtons were working wonders, but couldn't sustain it. And GH was inching up month by month... Hope you can post more!!
