  1. Thanks @DRW50. That channel has some good content.
  2. I didn't think the P&G shows would tolerate their cast/crew indulging on set. We know about the partying that went down at the ABC shows BITD.
  3. Oh yes. Do you mean Carlton?
  4. It's known that Marcus Jordan had substance issues. Marcus Jordan Celebrates 40 Days of Sobriety Months After...
  5. I can see Nicole kicking Ted to the curb and getting with Carlton. Wait till Silk Press Sheila gets a load of Carlton. She's been checking for all the males.
  6. Murder, She Wrote appeals to viewers of all walks of life. It doesn't feel outdated at all and there's still that feeling of comfort and warmth when watching it. Murder, She Wrote was a show I took for granted as a kid/teen but its a show I appreciate so much more as an adult. I think it will live on forever in reruns, DVDs, streaming.
  7. My jaw dropped when Vernon showed up at Dani's house. I'm like "oh snap, daddy's home and its about to go down". No father wants to find out that their daughter is involved with anyone, even if that daughter is grown and a divorced mother.
  8. I can't imagine anyone other than Kim Zimmer as Reva. Whether you like her or not, Reva was GL's definitive character of the final 25 years.
  9. Agree. Season 9 goes off the rails. Season 10 to the end is off the rails plus budget mode. The final five seasons for me were a chore to get through.
  10. Victoria Principal clearly stacked her Dallas coins real good. In the grand scheme of things, she was smart to walk away from Dallas when she did.
  11. When Robert Calhoun became EP I thought GL was finally hitting its stride after some pretty rough years. Unfortunately the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run did not reflect the quality of the show.
  12. There was a five week break between the last Friday episode and the Thursday episodes which were the final four episodes. I have a feeling the final four episodes were refilmed to wrap up the storylines.
  13. Douglas Marland began at As the World Turns in September 1985 but it took about a year for his run to show growth in the ratings. 1986 As the World Turns becomes CBS's #2 daytime drama after Y&R.
  14. 1986 began with the EP change from Gail Kobe to Joe Willmore and the HW change from Pamela Long to Jeff Ryder. Over the course of 1986 there was turnover in the HW ranks: Jeff Ryder, Jeff Ryder and Mary Ryan Munisteri as co-HWs, Mary Ryan Munisteri and Ellen Barrett as co-HWs, Joseph Manetta, Joseph Manetta and Sheri Anderson as co-HWs. The 1986 ratings reflected the quality of the show. GL was saved from cancel territory in 1986 because Capitol was still CBS's lowest-rated daytime drama.
  15. Miami returns Wednesday. I'm so ready.
  16. @soapfan770 Thanks for the Sheri Anderson interview. So she admits to being influenced by Wall Street, but did she really think that 25 years later (going by real time) the audience wouldn't notice the dust off of The Sound of Music?
  17. I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
  18. CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
  19. Hahaha. Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.
  20. Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era. It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
  21. Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.
  22. Thanks @JAS0N47 for the 1973-1979 pre-emptions. Interesting that there were no Christmas pre-emptions 1973-1975 and 1978. Christmas 1976 was a Saturday and Christmas 1977 was a Sunday.
  23. Thanks @DRW50 for the video. I guess that is the closest we will get to pre-1979 Roger/Holly storylines.
  24. I've accepted we'll probably never see any of the Roger/Holly 1976-1978 storyline. Whenever any of Roger/Holly 1979 and 1980 storylines surface, those are must watch as they set in motion everything we saw a decade later.
  25. I didn't know of any interruptions for Maeve Kinkead after her 1997 return. Her runs would then be 1981-1987, 1989-1996, 1997-2000, short arcs until the end. I knew Maureen Garrett second run was interrupted from a 2009 interview but I couldn't recall the exact year. Her runs would then be 1976-1980, 1988-2000, short arcs until the end.
