  1. 100%. The decision to have only 1 Black male regular character single & ready to mingle at the start was another a big blunder of the initial bible. When they do the post mordem on this show, the conclusion shouldn't be that a Black-focused soap was a bad a idea. It was clearly a great idea. The show had a terrific premier and had good numbers with women under 55 for the first 6 months or so. So clearly a lot of people in that demo gave it a real shot. Its initial good numbers, coupled with its 5-month-ish ahead shooting schedule were a hindrance to making adequate course corrections. The path forward is telling more romance stories with Black characters. Actually delivering what was expected by a large, under served audience.
  2. I like that there's a bunch of stories going on at the moment. Even the Gen-Z story now is entertaining, especially compared to pre-crazy Luna. I would prefer if they mixed up the main stories more in a given week though. It feels like for the past few weeks they go too full throttle on one story for a week, be it Logan or the Gen-Z quad. I was enjoying the Taylor/Deacon/Sheila triangle but I need to see some movement there. Way too much talking in circles there.
  3. I don't think the BTG crew is sad about having the #1 soap in W18-49 as their lead-in.
  4. "It's not proper!" LMAO. Cool, Ivy's Maude Flanders now.
  5. Amazing, this show is really going to go a full year (at least) without telling a story about 2 Black contract characters meeting & falling in love. Even Passions & Sunset Beach managed this! B&B did it this year! Utter madness!
  6. Hopefully the show got their worst episode of the year out of the way. Yikes this was awful. Hayes' screaming, the painful cameos from the 80s time capsules & the bizarre acting from Electra's actress make this a solid nominee for the Daytime Razzies.
  7. These ratings show that for the week of Dec 29-Jan 2, BTG raised its demos independent of Bold (flat in W18-49, down W25-54) for the first time in 6 months. Good way for the show to start the year.
  8. Nope, you summed it up perfectly! How many conversations will Will & Katie have about Dylan needing a job before they connect the dots that Spencer Publications might have a job for someone with an art background?
  9. Thanks for the upload, that's interesting. Wasn't Jamie recast at the same time? You'd think with his vibe they'd have wanted him for Tad's son instead of Adam's.
  10. Good to see B&B continue its great season in W18-49. It has a real shot of taking the season crown from Y&R in that demo. That said, it's strange to see it even in W18-49 YOY yet down a full tenth YOY (along with GH & Y&R) in W25-54. Worst retention yet of B&B's demos for BTG at 54% W18-49 & 66% W25-54. What's ironic is that last week it had its best W25-54 hold since April. Hopefully that bought the show some leeway.
  11. Electra becoming an insecure bitch is long overdue. Pleasantly surprised that the actress pulled it off. Likewise, I thought they actress who plays Dylan played her reaction well. The Hope/Taylor scenes we nice. I like that Hope respects Taylor despite their family baggage. Steffy hooking up with Deacon would be epic.
  12. For sure. She's easily #3 after Jordan & Ripa in the best current career pecking order for AMC alumni from the 90s on. At the moment I'd say Josh Duhamel & Tichina Arnold are on the next tier, followed by Mark Conselous & Gellar.
  13. I liked them too. It feels organic that Eric would feel that being pushed aside is a bridge too far. At the other end of the spectrum, Steffy agreeing with Electra that she shouldn't shack up as much with Will to appease Eric was ridiculous. Chastity was never one his core values.
  14. She's been in four one and done series since Buffy ended. Not counting cameos, her last hit movie was in 2004.
  15. Talk about a full circle moment if SMG uses the ample earned media she'd gain from an onscreen reunion with Susan Lucci to help promote her Buffy revival.
  16. I've never claimed that. I'm not sure if it's a reading comprehension issue on your part or if you're being purposely deceptive but we were discussing altering the Canadian companies about the preemption not the preempitons themselves.
  17. Where did I blame the preemptions on them? Obviously the network schedules, not the production company. But then they should alert their international partners. You don't think it's curious why this is happening repeatedly?
  18. It's not the US network's responsibility, it's the production company's. Granted they are owned by the same entity in this case.
  19. Isn't this at least the 4th or 5th time this has happened? This never happens with Bold unless there's a news interruption and then it's rectified the next day so it must be a CBS Studios issue. At least Bell Media won't care anymore because they moved it out of the simulcast slot.
  20. Something positive for all shows: -GH up YOY in 18-49 -Y&R first in both demos -BTG retained almost 87% of B&B's W25-54 demo -B&B won its first quarter ever in W18-49
  21. Or - hear me out - they had the option to air the actual show.
  22. Sure, but I still think it's a bad programing move. It's a holiday where people have the day off and likely to be at home because of the cold weather, paying off holiday expenses, no planned festivities, etc. The network could have scheduled a repeat on NYD with the rest of the lineup in repeats instead. Unless that was a test to see how the show did following a B&B repeat.
  23. No red flags for new RJ's debut. I liked hearing the classic music cue for his intro. Not to nitpick, but a voiceover telling us who the new actor is isn't necessary when the character has been gone for over a year. Especially when someone names them a second later.
  24. Sorry Deke, no room for you, but they'll find something for a teacher's assistant who let a psychopath into a preschool without dong a background check. She must be good though if Will & Electra stopped by work in the middle of the day to provide a reference. Of course, the CEO will have to ask her dad first before hiring for an entry-level position.
