Oh lord, I forgot Ivy even existed. Ivy and Aly were nothing but placeholders to tangle with the Spencer bros until Thudley brought Steffy and Hope back. I’m just sorry we lost both Aly and Oliver to recklessness. I think mentioned it in one of these threads but one of the splashy Hope & Liam weddings it Italy B&B aired last month it turned out to be illegal.Liam realized he was still married to Steffy so he dumped Hope and reunited with Steffy after going all the way to Italy to marry Hope. 🤦‍♂️

Probably the same attention span problem he had to bring Macy back alive and then killing her off again in less than a year. Ugh. B&B was so good 2000-2005 but he always sabatoged the momentum somehow.

I hated it, Brooke and Thorne actually were good together in spite of their past naughtiness. The reignited feud between Brooke & Taylor among other things led to the particularly ill-times headlines of soap mags covering B&B at the time with headlines such as “Old Enemies Declare a New War!” and “B&B’s EXPLOSIVE Future” the week and week after 9/11. The leadtime with which the mags had been printed precluded any changes but it still was enough to attract some mainstream criticism at the time.

I remember that story from last year. I’m surprised Fillion even got that show on the air considering how tired and mediocre I found it to be. I resent how men like Fillion and Peter Krause keep popping up in show after show. Simon Cowell is a well known pig.

The buzz I heard was that she and Nathan despised each other; that can have a bad effect on the entire crew. Kind of reminiscent of Cybil and Bruce on Moonlighting. Apparently the change in leadership in the later seasons wasn’t as strong get them to work together as well. Long hours, high stress, and boredom/burnout can be serious factors that are detrimental to cast members in a long running show. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson had a tumultuous working relationship during their later years on the X-Files due to a variety of factors including the above and it showed by Season 7. They later made up and became friends years after the show had ended.

I’m glad they later made peace, especially in light of Strassman’s passing and Kaplan now being more famous as a skilled gambler than an actor. I know a lot of those late 70’s sitcoms had BTS drama but in Kotter’s case what a disaster for a show to rise high and then completely unravel that fast. Re: NYPD Blue I know the Caruso debacle well but there was also Sherry Stingfield who quit the show in disgust after the first season being extremely displeased with her role. Unlike Caruso’s career who went into the gutter Stingfield landed ER although had she some major issues there a couple years later.

I heard she became rather disillusioned/resentful of the show. I think she did say she’d like to due a reunion minus Stephen Collins. From what I understand is that Messing has become a rather toxic individual since her divorce. Messing apparently was bossing/pushing Mullally around, and Mullally came to believe Messing is out of touch of reality. Now some claim Megan decided to pull her diva card but given Messing has become more of a vocal, outspoken individual for the last few years obviously a personality clash between the two occurred.

Haha since we’ve covered WB shows like Buffy and Charmed, what exactly all went down on 7th Heaven? I recall Jessica Biel and Catherine Hicks both became unmoored during their time on the show, with Biel of course being the one always in the tabloids and trying to rebel against the show’s wishes to get out. The actress who played Ruthie had a bunch of risqué photos come out around the same Vanessa Hudgens had her scandal. I know Brenda “Cookies” Hampton was a real controlling monster as the creator/EP of the show. The less said about Stephen Collins the better.

LOL I was surprised Cuoco even had a career after Charmed TBH. I have to believe her on TBBT might just be some kind of flash in the pan moment as I think her all her attempts at having a film career have been met with swift negative reaction. Kern was a cancer to the show in the long haul. The minute the show featured that crappy Phoebe mermaid arc I knew the show was sliding downwards. I quite well remember when I think it was TV Guide gave Kern the dubious distinction of "Worst Show Producer of 2004". The last three seasons of the show were a mess. Kerr Smith's character was promising but completely wasted. The final season the audience was tortured by Kaley Cuoco giving the worst performance of her life.

The timeslot change argument always get blown out of proportion to say the least. Here's what I gathered up on CBS Daytime in August 2006 doing much meticulous research. Some stations like KCBS, KCNC, KSWT etc. which had aired GL in the mornings a day behind in the mid-90s later switched it back to its regular time-slot. Interesting! Time and Tide sounds so old fashioned but I wonder if it was a proposed fourth Ted Corday soap? I recall Corday's inspiration for titles Days and Morning Star came from Book of Psalms makes sense someone would pick a title out of an classic proverb. I wonder why NBC kept trying out soaps in mid-morning timeslots as opposed to something later in the afternoon in the 60's.

I personally thought Brad and Lauren were the best together in the mid-90’s and could have been a force to be reckon with as the rogues of Genoa City but that didn’t happen unfortunately. I suppose at best it drove Traci and Paul insane to see their arch nemeses have a torrid affair with the one they loved the most and then carry on in the open after Scotty died. BTW how long exactly was the college professor Tim Sullivan on the show for? Seems he lasted for like 7 or 8 years as the go to guy for Traci to run back to, it’s too bad Traci never got to address Colleen’s relationship with Dr. Korbel.

Loved Connor too she was indeed IMO one of the best characters especially in that 1993-95 period. Interesting as I never thought about how Nancy ever was to Don and Janice. I do recall reading something a long time ago about when Don returned in the late 60’s the Hughes were shocked to learn Janice had been dead for some time and Don had shipped the kids off to live with Janice’s family without Don even bothering to contact them when it happened. Sheesh! Whatever happened to John and Marion Hughes?

LOL we were talking about her a few days ago on DTS in the topic of older characters giving birth about Lyla; how Maggie was suppose to be the much younger sister of Lyla although I believe Sward is actually younger than Rapeleye. That said I don’t mind Frank & Maggie or the story they had with Cal & Diana from what I’ve seen but they certainly weren’t the most memorable thing going on.

I completely agree with this. I have been rewatching Dallas on Amazon Prime and finally have gotten to later seasons. I really enjoyed the story Michelle did with Barbara Eden haha I know it was panned but I found it rather entertaining. That last season characters like Michelle, Cally and Liz made the show but they had to tangle with old JR, Cliff, and McKay(I really enjoyed George Kennedy on Dallas, was glad him and Rose got back together before the finale lol).

Lisa’s stories for the early 70’s sound so strange, even as as late as 1975. I figure they wanted to mature her but had no idea what to do with her. When did the show kill over her son Chuckie? Seems kind of strange to do that along with “phantom” pregnancy. My guess is Lisa having to go toe to toe with Janice is how she got her groove back. As for Bathlomew I didn’t realize her was EP during this time. If I recall right he was once a popular child actor that was long forgotten by the late 70’s by the time his attempts to helm both ATWT and SFT proved futile.

Thanks so much! Sounds like she was a classic soap vixen/femme fatale. I never knew John had an affair with her or was so adulterous around this time like he was in his final years. I’m always fascinated by the Lenore character, especially spending years trying to keep her deceased husband’s crime of murder well covered up.

I feel bad for Lawrence St. Victor. I remember he started off as green on GL and was heavily criticized as the “prestigious acting school graduate” although to be fair the writing for Remy pretty lousy as even though he suppose to be a good guy he was written to be antagonistic. I admit I did enjoy final story with Karla Mosley’s character even though it was silly at least. I’ve enjoyed St. Victor on B&B it’s shameful that the show has given him so very little to do. It reminds me of how B&B hired that guy who was the winner of the first season of “I Wanna Be a Soap Star!” on SoapNet not long after his brief winning stint on GH ended. They hyped it up how he was Lt. Baker’s son and how he’d be more involved on the show but ended up being a worthless bit player for years before he stopped appearing.

Weirdly wasn’t that Miguel dressed up as the Native American Chief going after Esther? I remember reading something form 1984 Y&R where Miguel & Esther had some flirtatious scenes scenes never addressed again and Miguel apparently mentioned a brother who went to law school while Esther mentioned having a brother on screen. Years later I remember reading Skip Evans was planned to be Esther’s brother while John Silva was suppose to be Miguel’s brother but they decided against making any connections WTH? But then again I remember reading this from the same source that claimed Skip died in a motorcycle accident in 1991, something I have never verified and will never repeat as fact unless proven true.
