B&B lacks the range to do social-issue stories. Brad should stick to the trashy, outrageous stuff that’s in his wheelhouse. Scandals, sordid affairs, sex under absurd circumstances. The major problem is that Brad fails to give payoffs to even the trashy stuff, certainly not since the Beth story concluded. He doesn’t give us the satisfaction of really good high-carb, empty-calorie TV. He writes little self-contained arcs that deflate and sputter at the end like a whoopee cushion, which perhaps makes the show more digestible to the casuals?

Oh it’s totally unprofessional. But I’ve been so appalled by what I’ve seen on B&B lately that it’s hard for me to get up in arms about his breach in decorum. (SC has said something similar recently; I’ll have to find it.) Part of me feels Brad knows his writing is trash and probably would have a chuckle over MA’s post himself.

Brenda was never stupid. Someone that made dumb decisions sometimes? Yes. But they always portrayed Brenda as at least mildly intelligent lol. Same with Carly. She makes stupid choses all the time, but I think she's very savvy still. I think my comment is being taken the wrong way lol. I don’t think Brenda is stupid. I think that FV’s allegiance is clearly with Carly, and I think the show would try to diminish Brenda in comparison to his precious queen, at least storywise. Carly always has to win. Just not something I’d want to see as a longtime Brenda fan.

TJ/Tajh Bellow is serving body-oddy-oddy today in these pool scenes. I know the economics are different for GH than the other soaps, but it’s striking to see them with an actual pool set with bountiful extras when Y&R is having Fortune 500 business meetings in hotel lobbies and broom closets.

That’s a huge live rating for Potomac, all things considered. It’s eclipsing a lot of the other more established franchises. Now *that’s* a cast with chemistry. Gizelle vs. Karen will never get old. Bershan’s behavior felt phony and production-provoked to me. We all know production interferes, but if you can’t sell the illusion, don’t bother. And if the show feels the need to force drama like that, they’ve already admitted defeat. The more I see of Eboni, both on the show and off, the more I dislike her. Leah should never have been on this show. Even Aviva Drescher, who I came to despise, was a much better fit. Hell, Kelly Bensimon, all is forgiven.

I fear an unnecessary OC-style gutting of NYC, with similar results, and Leah as the Kelly Dodd. Hopefully they’ll be smarter this time.

This show sucks. This tear-soaked $Bill/Justin yellfest is so much cringe. Aaron D. Spears deserves better.

Glad to see classic TV really making inroads in the streaming era.

She would have been great with all of them and especially Bobbie too. She would have excelled with the Quartermaines and would likely have been intrigued by Justus as a new player within the family. And Simone and Keesha would have been more than just afterthoughts. Tony’s post-B.J. downward spiral probably would have been handled with a lighter touch (less psycho, maybe more akin to Ed’s trauma after Maureen’s death?)
