Where’s Laura? She seems like someone who’d be in attendance.

No argument from me there. I’m just trying to imagine those crying scenes with Jax at the Tan-O with Stafford in the role. My insides are ripping to shreds just thinking about it.

OMG, it would have been tragic. Unwatchable. MS can be very good, even great (albeit not in years), but she doesn’t have that in her.

General Hospital September 2021 Discussion Thread
It is weird they do LOL. Griffith and Valentini seem to want Hallmark level drama. And there's nothing wrong with that level of drama - I just want more for my soaps than building and building a story and then pulling the rug out in the reveal. It doesn't have to be toxic "everyone hates each other" Phelps energy but gimme something. And it is interesting how B&B and DAYS seem to blow the chance for some fallout and real drama and go back to "nothing really mattered" let's move on to the next five minute story while Y&R and GH seem to avoid any real drama even when the story is there and writes itself, you know? I didn't explain that well but I see what you see with them. It's so weird. You explained it perfectly, and I completely agree. “Hallmark-level drama” totally nails it too.

He and Josh Griffith have that in common. Just weird, right? I wouldn’t want to go to the other extreme (where B&B and DAYS often go, with zero consequences or character follow-up), but there are so many dramatic opportunities sitting right in front of them that these shows don’t take.

Totes. Stories are climaxing, and I find myself totally distracted when watching instead of gripped.

Tanner Novlan exists only to be dumb and naked. An age-old himbo tradition that only B&B and DAYS are carrying forward. Meanwhile, Paris is just dumb…

Britt/Jason does feel like a dropped story, even though they still reference it. It’s all so bizarre and incoherent.

The Talk: Discussion Thread
I just happened to tune in today. What’s with the set design?! The panel was facing the live studio audience while interviewing Angela Bassett, who was coming in from a remote location, but she was on a huge screen that came down and completely obscured the studio audience. I’m assuming the screen was double-sided so the audience could see Angela, but it was just odd.

The Tennis Thread
Yeah, the women’s final had a lot more glamour and youth, plus a more surprising story. People were way more invested in the women’s side this year. The men’s matches were mostly boring during the second week (after the Alcaraz/Tsitsipas match and the success of qualifiers like Otte and Botic vdZ). Very predictable and uninspired. The biggest men’s finals in recent years have usually been Roger vs. Novak. The other ones… meh.
