  1. So bored with the Newmans. The Abbotts are so much more dynamic to me, even in their currently depleted state.
  2. Mitch from Tampa 🇺🇸
  3. I wonder if it’s possible that Annika Noelle could play Steffy-as-Hope while JMW is on maternity leave lol.
  4. Phyllis talks to Amanda like she’s a nuisance. They have zero friendship chemistry. This is what Mishael came back for… Ashland doesn’t work. At all. I do wonder if he’ll eventually team up with Diane.
  5. Premieres Thursday, June 9 on Peacock. Some first-look photos:
  6. Cast is set for the all-winners All Stars season:
  7. They act like we don’t live in the 21st century and understand how things work. Yes, it’s a TV show, but things like that take us out of the illusion. Maybe a lot of the older viewers wouldn’t question it, but this wouldn’t pass the smell test for even my 83-year-old mother.
  8. The most boring direction possible. These effing shows aren’t worth our time.
  9. Gerardo from Cuba 🇨🇺 in Miami/NYC 🇺🇸
  10. This show is *very* poorly written right now. Just not thought through enough. The racial optics of the story don’t bother me as much as it’s all so stupid. Esme framing Trina falls apart under the barest scrutiny. The PCPD have never been the brightest bulbs, but this is beyond silly. When Esme first appeared, I had imagined that she would be somehow responsible for outing Curtis as Trina’s father, which would have devastated Trina and make more sense. But they wanted to do an umbrella story and make Esme the new supervillain to replace Peter. I suppose the ambition is admirable, but the execution is abysmal. It makes me not want to watch. Nikolas’s idiocy, for example, is too frustrating for words.
  11. Yeah, I thought about that too, even though Esme has been waaaay overexposed and a pretty one-note, crybaby villain, and Trina has often felt like a supporting character in her own story. We’ll have to watch the trends.
  12. The ratings are something to keep an eye on. They seem less than fabulous.
  13. This show is so incompetently written that it’s embarrassing.
  14. I guess Rena got her episode allotment. NOW she shows up in this story. Where’s Paris in all of this, I wonder?
  15. Norm Macdonald, Louie Anderson, Bob Saget, now this. Wow.
  16. Yeah not sure completely why they’re preempting, but I guess news is fluid, since the shooter hasn’t been apprehended.
  17. 28 people have been taken to the hospital as of now. 10 shot.
  18. Nothing close to the horror stories I’ve heard longtime NYers talk about, though. You grew up here, right? I heard people talk about walking in the middle of the street to avoid muggers staked out in alleyways. Just crazy stuff. The city hasn’t been heading in a good direction, though. A lot of it is national trends—Philly, for example, is a hot-ass mess right now—but De Blasio’s apathy didn’t help.
  19. There’s definitely an edge to the city I’ve rarely felt, post-pandemic, especially in the subway, but I’ve only been here for 20 years.
  20. I’m in Upper Manhattan, but I’ve definitely been on those trains a lot. Just terrifying to be on a train in rush hour and have someone start shooting. I saw videos of passengers today trying to open the doors between the trains only to find them locked. Makes me think of the LIRR massacre years ago. Not surprising given the state of the subways, but they are saying there were no working cameras in that station. Great.
  21. Edit: Actually I’m hearing five are in “critical but stable condition.”
