That GH is winning W25-54 is quite something. Although I think Y&R probably has enough much older viewers to maintain its hold. I dunno. I’d be interested in seeing what the numbers are too. Really drives home how strong GH’s February was for them. Yet, the more decisive factor seems to be the collapse of CBS. Yikes at that .12 YOY drop for Y&R and .1 for B&B. The dullness and mismanagement are finally catching up to them, Y&R especially.

I think Devon/Lily and their feud are by far the best part of Y&R these days. A business story that feels like it has actual stakes and CK and BJ are really going for it.

The scenes where she was hallucinating about Sabrina in the car, though… that was a laugh riot. Not entirely her fault. More evidence of how far Y&R had fallen, though. I’m so glad ED dipped out and went back to DAYS. That stint really reenergized her.

Josh can be good when he steps up, which is neither here nor there, I suppose. He falls back on his bro-y affectations 95 percent of the time. Still he looks good. Glad we get to see some decent male flesh. Especially on a show that saw Jason Thompson (!) as a thirst trap and managed to keep the beyond-ripped Rory Gibson covered up and moping around in dark jackets.

My guesses: A very good, connected PR team + Barrymore being Hollywood royalty/a movie star when that actually still meant something. Those female stars of that generation (Aniston, Paltrow, et al) still get so much coverage in spite of not being *that* zeitgeist-y.
