  1. At this point, we're down to two options: vote (in the 2020 election), or stage a militaristic coup. Chances are good, too, that even if we vote him out, we'll still have to pull a page from the Golan-Globus action film playbook, because like hell is he gonna go quietly.
  2. And once all of the above happens...? Two words: Mass. Graves. Yeah, we need to vote his ass out next year.
  3. Exactly, @DRW50. This is an attempt (on ABC's part, as well as on Spicer's team's) to rehabilitate his image. They've figured that enough time has passed (and enough other fit has hit the shan) for us to have cooled on the guy. Fortunately, in this case, the Twitterverse never forgets; and that, as well as Bergeron's own reaction to the news, might be enough to sway ABC into forcing him out, with the usual b.s. explanation that due to sudden scheduling conflicts blah blah blah. As I see it, Spicer is angling to get back into the arena, so to speak, perhaps with some gig as a right-wing talking head on some news show; and he figures appearing on a show like DWTS is the first step in accomplishing his goal. Before too long, I expect him to...well, I don't think he'll ever apologize for the lies he told as WH Press Sec...but I do think he'll backpedal somewhat. He'll offer statements to the effect of, "I still believe in the message of MAGA, as well as in all the valiant people in this administration who continue to put 'America First' yada yada...but, yeah, Trump is an idiot, and kind of a dick, too." IOW, he'll do what he must to distance himself from Trump (unless he wants a regular gig on Fox News) short of renouncing him outright and switching over to the Democratic Party. Agree!
  4. That (giving Molly definition) might be the only GOOD thing Hogan Sheffer did for ATWT.
  5. I called this one so long ago... https://www.thedailybeast.com/sean-spicer-to-compete-on-abcs-dancing-with-the-stars
  6. And here I thought it was because HotC was a terrible sitcom best left forgotten.
  7. I could understand (somewhat) Sarandon's antipathy toward HRC in the last election. Warren, however, has a cleaner record by comparison, and Sarandon's STILL pitching for old, white, out-of-touch Bernie? Y'all were right: white women hate each other.
  8. Would the world be worse off if these (and other social media platforms) were to disappear suddenly? I think not.
  9. Irna had this habit of killing off characters whose performers displeased her in rather gruesome ways. Didn't she want to kill off Liz by setting her nightgown on fire, because Liz's portrayer had appeared nude in some movie?
  10. In a way, it makes sense for her to be there, since that's the kind of role and show that's right in her wheelhouse.
  11. ICAM. For me, it isn't enough that he was fired (after five, long-ass years). Eric Garner's family deserves more.
  12. Two breaking developments: 1. Planned Parenthood withdraws from Title X funding: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/19/health/planned-parenthood-title-x.html?action=click&module=Top Stories&pgtype=Homepage 2. NYPD fires the officer in the Eric Garner case: https://beta.washingtonpost.com/national-security/nypd-fires-officer-in-eric-garner-case/2019/08/19/2d0ead96-c296-11e9-b72f-b31dfaa77212_story.html
  13. If only Drew would have followed in her aunt's footsteps and stayed away.
  14. Well, the stock market must be doing REALLY bad this week, if Trump has to distract us all with the news that he wants to purchase Greenland. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/16/world/europe/trump-greenland.html?action=click&module=News&pgtype=Homepage
  15. I just find it sad how Trump has reduced politics to a dick measuring contest.
  16. I am not here for that. I will never be here for that.
  17. Quite a lot. But most of what I like was made before my time, when creative people actually set out not to suck. Not surprised. As soon as people figured out what the show really was, they were bound to stay away. True. Harsh, but true.
  18. That's why it both tickles and frustrates me whenever (white) people talk about racism in this country like it's something brand new. Where have you BEEN, White America!?
  19. Yeah, good luck with your lawsuit, ladies. I support you and believe every word you say, but...good luck.
  20. Well, that's why Walmart is removing some video games from its' shelves, right? (I'm kidding.)
  21. DUMB QUESTION ALERT: How will the CBS/Viacom "re-merger" affect the quality of CBS' current programming? Under Moonves' watch, CBS began steering itself toward programs that were heavily procedural, with a pro-male/pro-conservative bent. Do y'all think this move will change that any?
  22. On the one hand, I agree with you that Cuomo was (and is) being hypocritical, since he, too, has used the name in the past. But, OTOH, I don't believe for one second that the other guy never intended to come across as anything other than racist when he called CC "Fredo." He knows who Cuomo is, and he knows "Fredo" is not his name. Any explanations to the contrary are just flat-out lies.
  23. IA. But this crew wants it both ways. They want to revisit/cash in on past glories without having to portray once again the characters that put them in the public eye. So, what do we end up with? This crap. It truly feels like an over-extended Funny or Die sketch.
  24. I've no idea where else to post this -- and I certainly don't think it deserves a thread of its own either: https://www.tmz.com/2019/08/12/chris-cuomo-threatens-man-who-hurled-italian-slur-fredo-at-him/
