A Million Little Things: Discussion Thread
I'm a fan! In all honesty, since it was originally viewed as a "This Is Us" ripoff, I find myself watching this before catching up on This Is Us. I'm in agreement that the characters work best as an ensemble although there are some standouts.

Oh Dorit... WHY? RHOP is on fire and continues to deliver. I echo everyone's statements on Sunday's episode and that beautiful bombshell Karen gave the audience, and Ashley unbothered by Candiace's response. Team Karen/Ashley/Monique all the way. Love the mutual respect & understanding between "lil miss Ashley" and the "Grande Dame of Potomac." They're great at fighting each other but even better when they're on the same side. Looking forward to next Sunday's show with the entrance of Monique back into the fold. The reunion is going to be EPIC!

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
@Taoboi Great write-up; I agree with all. Now that I'm getting a better sense of these women individually, I do think Jen is doing too much and trying to be too much. I'm sure she studied the other Housewives franchises long and hard before coming up with what type of "character" she was going to portray herself to be. Meanwhile, Mary's explanation and apology was enough, and then Jen continued using the same incorrect dialogue "you said I smell like hospital!" "No, I said it smells like hospital." At least it got squashed. Knowing Housewives though, I'm sure it'll be the catalyst for further tension between the two. [Side note: Hubby can't stand Jen.] After episode two, I'm finding myself liking Heather, Whitney, and Meredith the most. There was something very endearing about Meredith and her situation with her husband. She also seems pretty level-headed and self-aware. I question her fashion choices, but nobody's perfect. Also, the way she talks reminds me of the late Carrie Fisher, so I like that. Like others have said, Whitney is one that comes off as a vapid airhead at first glance, but there's real depth and intelligence to her. She was wise not to bring up the "swingers" rumor with Lisa because the focus of the conversation would turn to that. Smart cookie. And I like that we have a genuine family connection on this show with her and Heather. Heather continues to be my favorite. She's not the ice queen, she's not the glam queen, she's not the queen bee, but she's entertaining and real and I love her energy. Lisa is icy, but she'll provide a good bitchy dynamic to the group. Mary is kooky and will provide excellent memes and gifs in the social media world. And gosh... I don't know what summer is like in SLC, but the wintertime is visual heaven. That view we see outside Meredith's place in her talking head shots. I'm in awe. I'd be in Christmas wonderland this time of year.

Dang, they're doing it. They're gonna make the OG's stick old like sore thumbs as the musty old broads of the series. LuAnn can make friends with anyone, but I'll be interested in seeing how Ramona really gets along with the younger newbies, as the feelings of being iced off her own show will surely creep in. ... and no Heather?

@Taoboi @ChitHappens I ended up really liking Watchmen! I had no clue about the story prior to watching, so the first episode was weird and random. Hubby peaced out after the first episode but I stuck through it and loved it. It was about half-way through the series that I finally pieced it together how it all connected. Regina King was boss as always, and on a shallow note, you get to see quite an eyeful of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II I recommend! I'm really loving The Handmaid's Tale too. If the thing that currently occupies the White House had been re-elected, I'd probably feel a different way while watching it, but I am enjoying it. It's one of those shows where you look forward to all the flashbacks because it helps paint a full picture about how they got to where they are today. Another one I recommend!

Nah girl, I loved it. No Potomac fatigue here. I agree with your write-up though. Ashley has shown growth and I don't have a problem calling out Candiace for the way she doubted Ashley's sincerity about starting a family last year. Yes, Ashley needs to own her messy pot-stirring ways of yore, but I feel she had a point about Candiace. And Candiace's reactions and replies are always stank and emotionless. She thinks way too highly of herself and her position on this show. The prank was hilarious and I loved their breaking the 4th wall and watching the producer cam footage. Karen continues to mother and guide Candiace, but I feel her efforts are falling on deaf ears. Meanwhile, years after Ashley's first comment about Ray's dick, Robyn reveals a lil truth bomb about Karen not wanting to go home to Ray's dick and how she dreads having sex with him. GULP! Awkward! Candiace/Gizelle/Robyn need to understand that Ashley coming to Monique's defense is to help keep Monique out of jail, potentially. In no way is Candiace in danger of the same fate. Shedding light on Candiace's butterknife-weilding ways isn't going to land her in the slammer.

Ooh. Cannot wait. So onto the newbie, SLC.... I loved Jen, but my hubby thought she was too much fakery for the cameras. God, the real estate and the views on this show are spectacular. As soon as COVID is over, we're booking a flight to SLC to visit my brother and new wife in Ogden. The one set-back? Mormons think black people have no souls. And some say gingers have no souls. So we'd be a gay interracial soulless couple... not sure how welcoming the city would be, LOL. Is it Meredith who has the gay son? I liked that. I liked that they didn't announce his sexual orientation, it was just a fact. And he does her makeup. Love! His voice reminds me of Olympic ice skater Adam Rippon (met him last year... quite the ice skater booty on him, yum! But I digress...) The set-up with the rose petals all over the floor made no sense though. The husband paid for it, the son put it together, and the wife just comes home and looks at a mess on the floor that she'll have to clean up? Pass. I feel like Heather is going to be the Greek chorus of this series. She is funny, blunt, honest, and real. She's rougher around the edges and not your typical beauty queen and that's why I like her. This show looks promising and fun!

Recently did Ratched, The Watchmen, and now just finished season 1 of The Handmaid's Tale. Starting season 2 tonight. Under His Eye.

I myself don't find the Karen/Gizelle love/hate-fest to be tired. I think they, along with the likes of Robyn and Ashley, have the same type of onscreen chemistry and banter similar to Ramona/LuAnn/Sonja/Dorinda during their better years. I *do* think this reunion is going to be ugly though, with Candiace vs. Monique and Monique showing the receipts re: Gizelle/Charrisse/Candiace and the trainer being her secret babydaddy rumor B.S. However, if the Hugers and Darbys can let bygones be bygones, I suppose anything is possible in terms of reconciliations. That said, if I had to choose one versus the other, it's Monique all the way. She has the likeability, the family, the authenticity, the overall fabulosity... she just needs to rename her Not For Lazy Moms gig.

@Soapsuds Hey Ron, remember all those months back when you Mean Girled me with a "quit trying to make Kamala happen" remark? Guess what? It HAPPENED! LOL J/K buddy. I'm overjoyed. This has been such a wonderful celebratory weekend. That thing currently occupying the White House will soon be just another old white ranting 'n raving lunatic on Twitter. #GurlBye and wifey will divorce him by springtime for sure.

POTOMAC: What a wonderful treat to cap a wonderful joyous weekend of good news and merriment. I always laugh, chuckle and smile throughout my watching. I too love how Karen and Ashley of all people are the ones comforting each other and having honest, real conversations. I kind of get NYC sisterhood vibes from those two together, much like a LuAnn/Ramona relationship, where they have their ups and downs; their fun times and their bitter feuds, but at the end of the day they're in this together. I hope Monique will stick around for season 6 and they can be The Dream Team of Potomac. We watched the first few episodes of S1 from the marathon, and that was a trip. The etiquette crap was too much, and I'm so glad this show evolved into what it is today. Oh, and I warmed up to Katie Rost a little more this time around, but y'all know my disdain for Charrisse Jackson Jordon only grew stronger LOL. That woman had such a high opinion of herself based on no reason. And after seeing her droopy eyes come into the whisky tasting event, I'm convinced she spent half the season pre-gaming before shooting any scenes, didn't bother to check herself in the mirror beforehand, and then tried to fake being sober until everyone caught up to her. LOL Can't wait for next week with Ashley vs. the butter knife wielding guinea pig.

I was very glad to see that online and of course had to comment on it. Shut up! Sorry, a couple friends and I always end any conversation about LuAnn or housewives with an abrupt "Shut up!" in honor of her Viva la Diva song LOL

100% I was never a Tamra "fan" per se (I'm pretty much lukewarm on all the OC women in general, though I'm happy to see LIZZIE back next week!), but she was a necessary factor for this franchise. Sounds like heaven. Bring it on Kathy. LOL

This big bruhaha over calling Gina's house "small" or "sad" is so blown over the top. It's very tits-on-an-ant nitpicky crap that Beverly Hills is always guilty of milking. I'm so blah over everyone in this. I feel for Braunwyn but she's also acting up goofy. Shannon being Shannon with her short-circuited Ramona-like meltdown, but not in a fun-to-watch way. Meanwhile, so far we've had Tamra appear in a flashback in every episode. Too bad they couldn't convince her to stay for the 6 episode arc.

I voted in person this morning. I'm in Dane County in Madison WI and got in line around 7:25am and was done by around 8:15ish. No craziness, just normalcy. Everyone masked up and 6 ft. apart. We're gonna flip Wisconsin back to blue

Yup, Wendy is a fail. She comes in too hard for no solid reason (first with Ashley, now with the Grande Dame). But I love how Karen saw Gizelle's messy ass was to blame for this. And I LOVED how Karen was able to turn this silly argument into something funny and hilarious with the sauntering/slithering walk, which resulted in nearly every woman doing "the walk" right out the door. Hilarious! Karen is the queen at taking a petty argument and turning it into lightness and fun, as most of these minor squabbles should be treated.

Meh, diff'rent strokes, diff'rent folks I'm not invested in him as a person, I'm just admiring the view, even if his head is made of wax. LOL So glad to see this! Honestly, they could pretend Screech never existed and I wouldn't care.

Only 5? How New Jersey of them. I would've given someone a sixth spot (Tanya?). I guess this is Bravo's way of cutting costs, similar to soap operas when they started dropping people to recurring status to save on contract money.

"The Conners" Discussion Thread
I love that this show continues! HOWEVER... That said, this "sitcom" is really more of a drama nowadays. It's downright sad at some points. "Roseanne" was a show about life and laughs through the ups and downs. The Conners focuses too heavily on the economics of their situation and makes way too many jabs at their own poor existence. They've got to find a better balance. Sara Gilbert shouldn't have to shed tears EVERY episode.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Agreed on the ho-hum deliveries. The visuals are nice, but it also comes off as generic/parody to me, but I suppose all new Housewives shows initially come off that way. Of course, I'll check it out. We all dogged Potomac when it premiered and it's practically the crown jewel nowadays, at least in terms of enjoyment if not for ratings/recognition. I wish there was some age variety. Reminds me of Dallas when it premiered, which I ended up not watching. Side note: my brother and his wife live just outside SLC. I hope they see someone they recognize or see them filming at some point next season
