Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
:::Crickets::: Uh oh, where is everyone? I haven't caught up on the dark cloud that is New Jersey just yet, but I saw the preview of OC where Shannon continues to drink and lives in a state of delusion that she doesn't have a problem with alcohol. In other news, word on the street is they're trying to salvage Atlanta, with Cynthia Bailey filming more and rumors of a return from Phaedra. So we'd be seeing her on both RHOA and Married to Medicine? (Perhaps she could just be phased out of M2M...)

I'd like to see protesters with signs calling him out on being a child molester of 12-year-old girls.

Wondering too. I remember the cast saying once that every year they didn't know if they'd get picked up for the next season. IMO, I would think the show finally took off by season 3 ('91-'92) when they started adding more episodes outside of the school (Beach episodes, Palm Springs, murder mystery etc.) and then you had the addition of California Dreams to follow after Bell.

Melrose Place reboot in the works
Agreed, I love re-watching some MP, especially the first 3.5 seasons. I haven't listened to any rewatch podcasts of any other shows (including Housewives) but I'll definitely be listening to this!

Ratings from the 80's
Also from the Chicago area, and from what I understand, our local ABC (WLS) was always the top-rated local network, starting with Oprah at 9am and it stayed No. 1 throughout the daytime, with even shows like Loving beating Y&R.

Jenn Fessler, yet another one to suffer the second season curse. She looked like a total clown (she's got the ears for it) defending Jenn Aydin. I will say, though, I did kinda enjoy seeing the newer women and friends-of interacting with one another at Danielle's event... They really could do a Loving becomes The City and take all the newer women and build next season around them and let the old guard go.

The Politics Thread
I mean, at this point, Biden has the ability, authority, and immunity to hold onto power in November, even if he loses, correct? He has immunity to wipe out his political opponent, all Trump appointed judges, hell even all Republican members of congress... all in the name of protecting the good ol' US of A. They're ALL a threat to democracy. Side note: What's the best city in Canada to live in? At this point, I am preparing for the worst which means having an escape plan I can put into place before January 20th.

BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
They really need to put some love, attention, money, and well-mapped long-range solid storytelling into Y&R and B&B to beef up their soap line-up. The more eyeballs that get used to coming back to those shows, the better the chance of getting them to sample The Gates or at least see some ample promotion to get them intrigued.

Ratings From the 90's
Yes, it's mainly DAYS and B&B (with 1 or 2 weeks of AMC inching up there) battling it for No. 2 from August '95 through February '96 when DAYS begins its streak that doesn't end until December '97. I remember the most random things, lol.

Ohhhh, okay I remember those. I thought it might have to do with barely legal twink-boy interns in the offices at Bravo 😂

... and the finale of the Possession, along with the Carrie/Austin botched wedding by Sami, Peter Reckell's return, etc. puts DAYS nicely at No. 2 for the whole four-week stretch. It's because this is exactly when I started watching DAYS and we were a Nielsen family. J/K

So RHOBH will be the Y&R of Housewives. BTW, what are the Andy allegations? I actually haven't heard of any.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Well in that case, as we compare soaps to Housewives, we're about to enter the 2008-2011 era, As The Dominoes Fall... only the strong will survive.

Yowsers, the week of 7/3 - 7/7 is rough across the board! Week of 7/10 - 7/14, is this the beginning of the Loving Murders? Their numbers went up and only one-tenth away from a very rough week for Another World.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Meanwhile, they kept Jenn Aydin around... I'm more than ready for that one to be shown the door. As for RHOA, with all the disappointment already with delayed filming, ho-hum casting decisions, and missing out on the juicy tidbits of Porsha's imploding life, I'm wondering if they end up scrapping it and it becomes another Ultimate Girls Trip 4, never to see the light of day.

Big ouch to GL's 4.0 already. Y&R folks, it seems they lost the most ground immediately after the OJ Ford Bronco chase drama. Was there a major shift in story quality? They went from getting 9's in early '94 and staying in the 8's, and then June '94 hits and they're suddenly staying put in the mid 7's.

ALL: Daytime's Best Dads?
My first thoughts were GL's Josh Lewis and DAYS' Bo Brady.

With lighting already showing our favorite Salemites in an unflattering manner, the makeup team also needs to tone down on the yellowish makeup they use around the eyes of some of our 40+ actors. It's obvious the most on Dan Feuerriegel, but is also quote noticeable on Eric Martsolf, Billy Flynn and others.

And despite all the hoopla of the Possession storyline, we will see it was actually the Aremid storyline in the latter half of '95 that puts them ahead of the AMC/B&B/GH pack consistently.
