My, my... Those dresses are terrible! So dated. Nolan Miller was the sophisticated peak of the '80s fashion and that was it. If you two wanted colour, Sex and the City was full of it. Especially the films, which were "colourful" to the point of being garish and kitsch. Colourful and opulent is also something Oscar de la Renta does and isn't as cheap as those clothes above. So colour isn't dead On the other hand, work by such people as Mainbocher, Balenciaga, YSL, Givenchy, Dior, Norman Norrell – that's the elegant understatedness that alphan hates, but which is never boring and sterile. It's just tasteful.

Neighbours: Discussion Thread
Every time someone posts in this thread, I expect news of cancellation. I don't know why I have this impression. It seems as if every one right step in the right direction, it takes five in the opposite one. Has it run its course? How are the ratings doing?

- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Jonathan Harvey, obviously, got the Christmas episode.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Simon Ashdown wrote the 25th December episode, followed by Daran Little, and Matt Evans the 30th December one. Tony Jordan's adaptation of the story of Jesus's birth, The Nativity, goes out in four parts on BBC One starting at 7:00 pm on Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22 nd December.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Kara wasn't good on EastEnders, she seemed like a girl who came from the tropical forest to live in the city, very... rough, crude, coarse, un-feminine, it was somehow a wrong role for her. And every time she was on, I felt like I was watching the annoying Keira Knightley (because of the physical appearance). It didn't help matters.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev won Strictly.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Isn't she dropping him as her estate agent in the next episode? + http://www.hollywoodlife.com/2010/12/17/kyle-richards-real-housewives-beverly-hills-dinner-party-fight-faye-resnick-camille-grammer/ + http://www.usmagazine.com/moviestvmusic/news/beverly-hills-housewife-kyle-camille-and-i-are-done-20101412- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....

Yaaay! The Cheap animated GIFs are here!!!- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Faye is kind of trashy. That's why. People are making wild assumptions over at Television Without Pity:- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
That was only the end. She was dead amused until the last five minutes. Adrienne was petrified at the horrible vulgarity. Had she been above it, she would have looked bored and distant. All the time, she couldn't help it but make deep visible and invisible gasps. She was terribly dressed though. Unlike Lisa, who looked fab when she went to do that driving licence test with Cedric.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Well, I have no idea how accurate this is, but here it goes: Adrienne Maloof-Nassif: $300m Lisa Vanderpump-Todd: $65m Kyle Richards: $20m Kim Richards: $20m Taylor Armstrong: $10m Camille Donatacci: $5m I have to point out... Kim Richards worth $20m?! That must be a joke. I wouldn't put her at more than, I don't know, $3m. And that's generous. Camille is also mis-estimated, maybe she gets something from her divorce settlement.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Lisa's deadpan lines are fab. Though, I still prefer the aristocratic Adrienne. Camille set the whole thing up (together with the producers, of course): those cocktails weren't that huge for no reason.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I felt like the whole episode really went beyond any acceptable limits, it was horrendous in so many ways. A terrifying example of finis temporum Olympus in flames. I felt sad for Taylor after the previous episode, but I didn't like the feuding with Kim. By the way, Cedric Martinez apparently has a degree in chemistry from the University of Grenoble – I didn't know that! His father is unknown and he was born in Paris! I sensed that, he seemed very un-British in certain ways. MOT Models has a page on him too. Also, does anybody here like Michael Baiardi's music? I just Googled him and something scary popped up on page two, I don't know if it's about him or some other guy with the same name.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Kim is seems so dumb, I just don't know, I feel sad for her, but I think Lisa needs to scare her away from the show. Lisa was very amused – Adrienne was petrified. She asked about her grandmother! She was just waiting to ask that question the whole evening! Camille was, of course, very calculated in her choice of guests and intentionally invidet Allison Dubois, everyone can see that. She wanted to make the volcano erupt. What do you think about Faye Resnick, DaytimeFan? I wasn't pleasantly surprised she is such good friends with Kyle. Why does Camille hate her? Something happened there.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....

Dazzling drama on BBC One this Christmas including Toast, Upstairs Downstairs, Just William, Doctor Who, EastEnders and Holby City.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Yes, you are both right. I guess I'm just impatient for something a bit bigger to start. Eventually, I hope it will. And I think, Carl, you hit the nail on its head: what I think I lack and find lackclustre is that Kirkwood isn't really good at pimping the show as Santer and everything kind of falls flat. Santer knew how to bloat an event and make it seem better than it really is (now wonder he's good at people manipulation, didn't he major in psychology?). It seemed as if every 3 months something relevant happened (though it didn't, clearly).- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Kirkwood isn't working out. Santer's show was a TV equivalent of a Californian blonde, hollow but eventful, and the utter and quite specific superficiality of it all was entertaining. This is just not going anywhere. - Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
