  1. So, how many times has Thomas asked Hope to marry him at this point? Dude, get a clue! As someone else mentioned, why do characters feel like they must constantly get married. I groaned when it looked like...Poppy was going to tell Finn that he was Luna's father. That would have been beyond creepy and offensive, and I hope that's not where we're headed. That being said, I wish Poppy would just tell Luna who the hell her father is.
  2. Those Capwell dinner party episodes are still some of my favorite of all time TV. The way the writers really got into the characters and their backstories was magical. I also thought Margarita Cordova did some amazing work in those episodes where Rosa acknowledges how her own children lacked the mother they needed because she was busy also raising the Capwell kids after Sophia "died." It struck me as how many childcare workers for the wealthy must feel when tasked for doing the parenting for rich, absent parents.
  3. I just rewatched those episodes after many years. I think on paper it probably sounded good with Lionel obsessed with Sophia's daughter that looks like her, but ITA it came off very creepy!
  4. There's so many fun things that could be explored just by the fact that show is set in LA. How has there never been a character that's been an actor, for instance? The show should have a fun younger set that explores more of the city.
  5. It would make sense for The Talk to get cancelled. The show has always struggled to find its voice and a dedicated audience. TPIS and LMAD are cheap moneymakers with reliable ratings, so they aren't going there. So, IF The Talk is cancelled and replaced by this new show, I REALLY hope CBS places it right after Y&R and then airs B&B after The Gates. The new show deserves a timeslot that would give it the best shot, and Y&R has such a huge AA audience even though you wouldn't know it since they utilize their black cast.
  6. The show desperately needs a younger and fresher perspective to make it relevant. There's so much opportunity to explore just by the fact that the show takes place in LA.
  7. We're in yet another holding pattern with characters just repeating the same words over and over again. Why couldn't Bill and Liam's scenes be replaced by a B-story to mix things up? This is why it feels like stories come out of nowhere. There's no build-up with stories at the different start points. Why can't these people find ONE other restaurant in LA to eat at??? lol
  8. I think Liam on B&B owns this thread...closely followed by Ridge.
  9. And, where I think the show misses a HUGE opportunity in developing more depth in the stories is not exploring the people in the basement (where Thorne worked). The people who are doing the REAL hard work, and showing and exploring class struggles that way as well as give us that character who's trying to claw their way to the top. Right now, it's so easy for a new character, such as Luna, to become a BIG success at FC without really showing them doing anything.
  10. Liam is still giving me creepy vibes. They should really go in that direction with the character versus the Steffy/Hope back and forth. Am I the only one wondering what the hell is IN THOSE MINTS? More repeat dialogue over and over today. Also, does anyone at FC actually work? All they do is make out and have sex in the office!
  11. Exactly! Or, takes place in LA, and there are no Latino characters?
  12. I do wonder what will become of broadcast networks in five or more years. How will they evolve? SVU, NCIS, and Grey's Anatomy can only go for so long, and I think the reason shows such as those are still on the air is that the networks would rather keep something known with a smaller audience that risk something entirely new. Hopefully, if The Gates happens, it will result in networks taking risks again.
  13. Today was a total FF episode....just repeating and repeating what's been said a thousand times already. Also, I found Liam and Steffy cuddled up on the couch to be soooo cringey at this point. Please, God, do we have to go back to them reuniting...AGAIN?
  14. I think the fact that the NAACP is also involved in the development of the series is a very good sign.
  15. Airing it after Y&R, which has a very sizable AA audience, would be the smart thing. If the show's an hour, just air B&B after it. Although, I think a half-hour soap would be a smart idea in this day and age. Maybe air it after Y&R, B&B after The Gates, and then fill the next half hour with a new talk show.
  16. I think if CBS owns the soap there's a chance for a higher budget since they won't be paying the producers of another company. They also have the potential for more ad dollars on their end, such as ABC gets with GH.
  17. The reason I think this may happen is that there's actually a quote from CBS as well, and they announced this. So, they must be serious. The questions are...will it be half-hour or an hour...and what time slot would it go in? TPIR still does really well. Y&R just got a four year renewal. I'd assume B&B is okay as well. Let's Make a Deal seems to do fairly well and must be cheap to produce. It could go in the slot where The Talk is. That show has had constant upheaval, cast changes, and it's never really caught on like The View on ABC. I actually think a 30 minute show would be a better bet to launch and much cheaper to start up.
  18. I thought the same thing! I half-expected him to pull back the sheet and see ten toes.
  19. OMG...I had never thought of that, but you are so right! Finn is to B&B what Billy was to MP.
  20. ITA that KKL does not have the same chemistry with TK that she had with RM (whether he was the best actor or not). When they reunited Brooke and Ridge AGAIN after the promising Brooke/Taylor friendship that was suddenly dropped, I just shook my head. I feel like Ridge is an albatross around Brooke's neck (and Taylor's) at this point. The character just can't develop as long as they have her running after him like a lovestruck teenager, and KKL deserves so much better. I actually much preferred her with Bill than I did this version of Ridge. I thought that at least Brooke and Bill had some chemistry, and their relationship felt more "adult." Brooke should still be causing scandals all in the pursuit of her "destiny" and she should have a younger rival to echo Stephanie/Brooke, someone she hates because she reminds her so much of herself. THIS should be the character that is pursuing RJ, in my opinion, instead of "perfect" "amazing" "beautiful" Luna. At the least, this anti-heroine should be Luna's rival for RJ's affections. It may be a controversial opinion, but I think Ridge, as a character, has outgrown his usefulness. TK is a great actor, but there's only so much he can do with this material. Ridge is just a smug narcissist who thinks the whole world revolves around him, and the way the show is written...IT DOES. I think Ridge's death would have the potential to really shake up the show in a good way and send all of the characters in a new and different direction. I think TN is a suitable soap actor as Finn, even a bit better than Ronn Moss was back in the day. I know he and Steffy have a lot of fans, but he's just a little too "basic white boy" to me. He's handsome in like a Wonderbread kind of way, like we're SUPPOSED to think he's handsome because he checks certain boxes (abs, etc) but a real personality for the character isn't there at all. He's just a bland handsome doctor. You could pluck just about any soap actor around the same age from any of the shows right now, and that person could immediately play Finn IMO. The character could be interchangeable with any actor. And, now that it looks like we're getting Finn/Hope...yawn. Just when Hope was getting interesting by shedding some of her "good girl-ness." Even though they've ruined the character now, I think the actor who plays Zende....and also Carter are much more intriguing, but they don't fit the "white leading man" I think the show believes it MUST have despite a HUGE part of the daytime audience being AA. The Carter/Quinn story was the hottest one the show had told IN YEARS, but they ruined it and then dropped it. Now, poor Carter just pops up in scenes at Forrester to be told that he's "like family" and stands next to Katie at parties, which, I assume means they're still dating??? I guess??? Hell, even Hollis at Deacon's restaurant is more interesting to me than Finn. He should be pursuing Brooke...and then we find out he's Ridge's son from an affair he had with a model.
  21. Wow...what a great scene! I really miss these days of B&B. The show needs an old school rivalry/feud like this one that has legs and can go on for years.
  22. I'm always waiting for Finn to try and sell the other characters insurance. Again, the build up is the problem for this story. If Finn and Sheila had had some scenes together recently where they sort of bonded him being conflicted would make more sense. Although, I can't imagine why he'd be torn over the woman who shot him and left him for dead. I never understand this show's insistence on only focusing on one story at a time per episode. You get the main story action and then two groups of people reacting to it in other scenes. Like yesterday, we didn't need the Hope and Brooke scenes. Those scenes could have been used for another story.
  23. Yeah, Ashley and ED's acting choices are...off. I'm beginning to wonder if it's some sort of split personality disorder, too.
  24. While this is great news, the show desperately needs a new writer who will do more than endless "stories" about vague companies and people job switching.
